Two

Marley's POV

I felt happy after seeing my grandmother. Dad and I were on our way back to our home which we decided to listen to music, dance and laugh in the car. Holding the steering, he turns to look at me and asked, "Marley, where would you want to go to for a visit next time?"

I smiled and said, "I'll like to go to an aquarium." He returns my smile with a big grin and said. "Sure boy! You will."

And that was the last thing I heard from my dad before going temporarily blind due to the bright light from a truck with high speed. Driving towards the driver's side.

I screamed out loud as the truck bashed our car. All the glasses shattered and I could feel the piercing pains it caused me. Blood began to drip all over my face and body.

I felt helpless and lifeless. Then I managed to turn my head around to look over at my dad. He was covered in his own blood.
Then the driver of the truck comes out, walking towards our destroyed car.

I heard my dad strain his voice to beg the driver for help. "Please help my son. Save him please." Then I started hearing the sound of an iron.....it was an iron pipe screeching on the ground.

The driver came in front of our car and with a big grin said.....You bastard!!! I am going to end you and your son's life together this night.

Then I realized that he wasn't saying it with his mouth but was what he was saying in his mind.

Just by looking into his eyes, I was able know what he was saying in his mind. How's that possible.

Even though I was just nine years old, It dawned on me that I had the ability to read minds.

Tears start pouring out of my eyes as he raises the iron pipe and broke the windshield making more glass to shatter all over our bodies.

He then used the iron pipe to hit my dad's head. He kept on smashing his head as my dad's blood spilled everywhere, even on the man's clothe.

I was traumatized by the look of how he was enjoying what he was doing. I began to tremble at the thought of my dad being dead already and also I that would soon join him.

I couldn't turn to look over at my dad because I was so scared. So scared as hell. The tears didn't stop but increased instead. I knew my dad was no longer breathing, I knew that he was covered in his own pool of blood.

At that moment, it felt like the whole world turned there backs on us. When he was satisfied with the pains he inflicted and the death. He walked over to my side.

I knew that at that point, it was my moment of death.

He raised the pipe to hit me but then stopped at the sound of a phones camera flash.

I knew that I was saved at that moment when he left me to follow the two girls that experienced the scene and also took a photo of him trying to kill me.

I silently thanked the person in my heart.

Viola's POV

Mom and I slept at an hotel that night then later rented an apartment.

I kept attending the same school with Stacy since I was on scholarship. Whenever I saw her, I would just walk past her like we've never met before.

I guessed her conscience judged her cause when I was walking down her street. She saw me through the window and ran out come meet me.

Walking beside me being ignored she speaks up,"Why are you ignoring me?" I didn't say anything but kept walking.

"Answer me for goodness sake!!"she shouted drawing more of my attention to her.

"What do you want from me?"I said looking at her, anger written all over my face.

She pushes trends of hair black hair in front of her face to the back of her ear."Why did you ignore me this entire time?"

"And is that a question?" I said with a disgusting look.

" What else does it look like?"

I blatantly turned away and continued walking down the street.

"I am sorry. Is that what you want to hear?"she says calmly.

"Really!! Sorry?!! You lied against me what you can say is-"I was interrupted by a loud crash sound which I was sure came through the expressway nearby.

We both turned towards the direction of the sound and quietly walked over there.

I was so interested in the scene. I noticed that it was an accident caused between a truck and a car.

Watching intently, we saw the driver of the truck jump down, holding an iron pipe.

What does he want to do with the pipe?...this question was bugging me.

He kept walking towards the side of the driver of the small car, then he raises the pipe and breaks the windshield of the car.

How nice of him. I thought with the idea that he was probably trying to save the man. But instead he kept hitting hard with the iron.

I felt my heart break after realizing what was happening. Oh no! I moved closer quietly with Stacy following at my side.

There was an adult by the driver side who the truck driver was attacking and a child by the passengers side though I couldn't tell what gender they were.

Ignorantly, I pulled out my phone and then I then decided to take a picture of him when he was about to hit the child, after killing the adult.

I took the picture but forgetting that my flash and sound was on. He turned immediately at the sound of the flash.

Glaring at us, he started walking over towards us. I dragged Stacy immediately and we started running for our lives.

I saw an house with a lot of flowers grown on the street so we ran there to hide.

"Girls....."he said searching for us, dragging the iron pipe on the ground along with him. "Where are you?..."

Stacy was about to scream when I covered her mouth with my hands, holding my first finger of my other hand to my mouth. Signalling to her to Shush!

"Now lemme be clear to you two. You didn't see anything! You also don't know me!! If you open your mouths to say anything about this!! I will hunt you down and promise to to kill you, every member of your family and those who listened to you!! I hope I have made myself clear!!"he screams and leaves dragging the pipe along with him.

I released my grip from Stacy's mouth and sighed. I was so scared than I had ever been before....
