"The greatest relationships are the ones you never expected to be in."

Chapter 8:

It was nearly morning when Chris and I got back to the hotel, from our little road trip. I tried my best to fix my dishevelled hair from sleeping on the car.

We weren't really planning to stay overnight but we unexpectedly fell asleep and when we woke up it's was almost sunrise.

Now, I'm positive that Dilton will kill us.

"I swear, this time we're really dead." I quietly told him as we made our way to the hotel, dodging the camera flashes and the questions being thrown at us.

"Don't worry, like I said I got it," he laughed "I'll also make sure that your whole family will make it."

I glared at him, "Shut up, you're not helping."

I continued tapping my foot nervously on the elevator floor as I keep my eye on the number indicating which floor are we currently in.

"Stop doing that," Chris scolds "It'll be just fine."

On cue, the elevator door opened on our floor revealing a furious Dilton, pacing back and forth the hallway, as he continuously tap on his phone.

I instinctively checked my pocket for my now dead phone. Oops.

I bit my lip as I wait for him to notice our presence.

"Hey! Dilton!" Chris exclaimed, not prolonging the agony.

Dilton snapped his head on our direction, his eyebrows immediately creasing.

"What were you two thinking? Where were you?" he yelled

I tried to find the words to say but nothing came out of my mouth, Chris put draped his arm on my shoulders. "Relax Dilton, we're safe aren't we?" he said

Dilton was about to speak but Chris cut him off, "Let the media wonder, 'Chris Jameson and Clary Humphrey, going back to the hotel early in the morning with yesterday's clothes', nice headline, isn't it?"

I sent Dilton an apologetic smile, silently agreeing to what Chris had said.

"Now if you excuse me, coz unlike someone, I didn't get enough time of sleep." He said and made his way to his room.

I made a beeline to my room as Dilton's gaze followed the retreating figure of Chris. I sighed once I'm free of Dilton's burning gaze.

I let myself fall on the bed, not understanding how I got too tired considering the fact that I just slept in the car most of the time, unlike Chris he played a whole football game and drove back and forth, nevertheless; I fell asleep.

I woke up around three in the afternoon; I slowly got up, and closed my eyes for a minute since my head is still spinning from sleepiness.

I went to the bathroom to wash my face, stripping my clothes from yesterday and got ready for a hot shower.

I sigh when I saw a red blotch on my undies, guess Mother Nature decided to pay dear Clary a visit. No wonder, my thighs are feeling kind of sore.

I finished my shower and lay back down to bed, enjoying the comfort the sheet provides me. I may not be the type to get moody, but I always got the worse cramps and sometimes—I admit—I got sudden cravings.

I grab my handbag to look for my stash of sour patch candies, they're the number one I craved for when I'm on my period, I mentally groaned when I found nothing.

After an hour of watching Scream Queens on Netflix, I already feel the cramps on my lower abdomen; I brought my knees closer to my chest as I closed my eyes in pain.

"Screw you, Mother Nature." I muttered

A knock on the door startled me, I'm pretty sure I'm not in the state of standing up right now.

I heard the door opened and closed, well I guess I forgot to lock it a while ago. Chris' figure suddenly appeared from the corner.

I didn't even bother fixing my appearance, to be honest I don't care about how awful I look at the moment, all I can think about is that I ache all over.

He took a moment to take in my appearance.

"That bad, huh?" I said, snapping him out of his daze

He shook his head, "What happened to you? You look like you're dying."

"It does feel like it." I simply said "I'm bleeding."

His looked panicked at the moment, "What? Where?"

I rolled my eyes at his bluntness, "In my womanly parts."

His eyes widened in realization, "Oh," he said "I came here to tell you that Dilton wants us to go out for dinner."

I grunted, burying my head on the pillow.

"But in your state, I don't think you would like that." He continued

"I'll be right back." He told me

He stopped halfway through the door, "Do you need anything?"

"If I said, I need pads and tampons will you buy me some?" I asked

His eyes widened, "Come on Clary, don't be like that."

"Can you buy me sour patch then?" I said, "And Ibuprofen too."

"Fine, anything but pads." He said, before leaving the room.

I waited for him for almost half an hour to come back. He came back with the things that I asked and sodas.

"I also bought some movies," he declared, "I read it while at the grocery line that girls love chick flicks."

He handed me the candies, the pills and a can of Coke.

"Sorry, I can't" I said, politely refusing the soda

"What it's against your diet?" he chuckled

"I wish," I said "More like allergic."

"You're allergic to soda?" he said, completely surprised.

"In caffeine, yes," I corrected

He went to get me a bottle of water in the mini kitchen of my room.

"Nice movie choices," I called at him, looking at the movies in amusement, Love Actually, The Notebook and Titanic.

"Did you search IMDB for these?" I asked as he came back, still laughing at him.

He scowled, "Don't give me that look, the woman on the check-out counter gave me enough weird look."

"Just imagine if I bought pads too," he added, I tried my best not to laugh that hard, since my lower abdomen still hurts, the pills don't work right away y'know.

I throw him the Love Actually film, "Let's watch that."

He laid beside me and placed his laptop on his lap, "Why this?" he asked

"Because Andrew Lincoln is hot and Thomas Sangster is so cute." I shrugged, focusing on the movie playing.

"You're such a girl," he mumbles

I rolled my eyes, "Maybe because I am a girl."

We reached the part when they were already performing 'All I Want for Christmas' when I felt Chris' head on my shoulder, I looked at his sleeping figure beside me. This jerk can be an angel when he's sleeping.

I continued watching the movie, after I left him in a comfortable position.

He stirred at his sleep while I'm the middle of watching Titanic.

"What time is it?" he asked, looking around the room

I looked at the time on his laptop, "Half past eight," I said

"Would you like some dinner?" he offered, running his hands through his hair in attempt to fix it, "I'll go buy some pizza, since we've been eating room service almost every night."

"That would be great." I told him

He grabbed his discarded cap on the chair to hide his bed hair before he went out of the door.

I kept myself preoccupied on the sour patch left on the bag as I waited for Chris to come back. The pills finally made its magic because my cramps are less painful and already bearable.

He came back after almost an hour, looking sweaty and panting. "Got caught up with the fans," he explained.

He placed the pizza on the small coffee table as we watch the new season of The Walking Dead that is currently playing on TV.

"We should've been out by now." I told him

He shook his head, "I'm fine by staying in for a day," he said "I get to catch up with my sleep."

"You could've done it in your room." I said

"Yeah, but then you'll be bored and writhing in pain, if I wasn't here." He said "So, I kept you company"

"Touché," I said

"Thanks for bearing with me then." I told him

He just laughed at me, "No problem, as long as you don't make me buy pads and tampons."

'No promises." I said with humour

If Chris will always be this way, we might get along but once he goes back to his old conceited self, I always beg to differ.

After a long silence, he kept stealing glances on me thinking I won't notice.

"What do you want?" I asked him

"I was just wondering, I told you about myself but I don't know a single thing about you" he said

"You know my name." I told him

"That doesn't count, smartass" he rolled his eyes.

I started to become nervous, "So Clary, why don't you tell me about yourself?" he asked.
