Christina's pov
I waited hours on that hill. I was waiting for the flash to come back. I need to apologize once more and I needed to give him his suit back. I took out my phone and checked the time. It's almost eleven.
"Come on flash," I mumbled and put my phone away. I looked at the box to the side of me that held the suit. I opened it and bought the suit out. Identical to the flashes suit, but mine didn't cover my head. And I looked way better in my suit.
New life. I'm going to need a job. I need an apartment. What am I going to do? I'm a former villian. No one is going to take me in. I sighed and stood up. He's not coming.
Suddenly my hair flipped all over the place and I struggled to keep it down.
"Hey," the Flash said. I patted my hair down one last time before handing the box to him.
"I'm sorry about everything."
He peaked inside the box.
"Why are you giving me your suit?" He asked.
"I really don't deserve it," I said.
He smiled and said, "Why not?"
"Well, you know. I chased after you for months," I shrugged.
"Yeah. It's okay. You were on Vandals drug." He said it like it meant nothing.
I really missed the drug. Velocity 9 was its name. I'm still addicted to it. But I'm down to about 2 pills every 3 days. I could feel myself almost drooling just thinking about it.
"Plus you earned it," he said. "It's hard to switch sides."
Like he would know. He has been good his whole life.
"Ivana, I want you to have it."
"Christina. That's my name now," I said. "But, thanks."
I took the box back and we stood there awkwardly.
"What now? Greg and Boleslaw are gone. I don't even know if they are dead or not. I don't where I'm going to go..." I sighed.
"I have some friends... Maybe they have a place to stay or something."
I almost expected him to ask me to come live with him.
"I would ask you to live with me but I live with someone already," he said awkwardly. I nodded.
(Small time skip:)
We ran for a good 5 minutes. He had to carry me because I couldn't run very well right now. He didn't ask why and I'm thankful for that.
It was very awkward though. I had my legs straddling his waist and my arms around his neck. My box was squished in between us. He said it was easier to run this way.
We suddenly stopped and I jumped off. I felt my stomach whirling. I kneeled over and puked on the ground.
"Woah. Are you okay?" He patted my back I pulled away from his touch. I stood up and wiped my mouth.
"Yeah.." I mumbled. Stupid drug. Puking was only one side effect from taking it.
He sighed.
"Look Ivan...Christina. You are going to meet the Justice League. Everyone there is nice. I just hope they like you..." He trailed off.
"Wait. You mean you know the Justice league?" I tightened my grip on the box.
"Yeah. I'm actually in the Justice league."
I could feel my heart beating faster than normal. I really don't want to meet them. I've heard stories about how they defeat every villain. But I'm not a villian any more. I don't need to worry, right?
"Come on. Let's go. If they think you are okay then you can stick around."
He smiled at me. The flash was really nice, now that I though about it. But he looks way older than me. I'm only 17. But Greg told me I looked like I'm 20 something. Ah Greg. I'm not sure why I don't miss you or Boleslaw. Probably because they were both asses.
I followed him to a odd looking building. He told me to close my eyes and I did. Then I felt a weird tingling.
"Open," he said. I opened my eyes and saw that we were in a white hallway.
"Umm."
He rolled his eyes. "You're too slow," he said.
We walked forward. I was looking at my feet.
"Flash." The deep smoker voice awoke me from my thoughts.
"Uh hey Batman," The Flash said. We turned around to see the one and only Batman. He was simply watching us. He had no emotion on his face.
"Who is this?" He said. I knew he was referring to me.
"This is...Lady Flash. I thought it was time for her to meet the team."
Lady Flash sounded pretty nice. I mean, it wasn't too original or anything. But it worked.
"Can we trust her?" He asked. I felt like it didn't matter what The Flash said. Batman probably had to do his dirty work before fully trusting me.
The Flash glanced at me. "Yes. Completely."
I felt so relieved. I finally had a friend. Someone who was nice and someone I could trust my life with. I nudged his side as a thank you.
"Okay. I'll take your word for it. But I want both of you in the lab at 9:00 sharp," he said and walked past us. I breathed out.
"That was easy," I muttered. The Flash shrugged.
"It was pretty much the same way with KidFlash. But KidFlash was just a normal teenager before becoming a mini me..." I understood what he was trying to say.
I used to be a villain. A pretty awesome one at the least. I nodded and we continued down the hall.
We stopped at a pair of brown doors.
"This is where the Young Justice usually hangs out. You could be spending a lot of time here," he said.
"Want to go in? It sounds like they are in there."
I took a breath.
"Think they will like me?" I said quietly.
He nodded and slowly opened the door. I looked inside.
It was a huge room filled with anything to keep someone busy. Books, video games, a pool table, and some other things I had no idea what they were. This place was total American.
"Let's go meet Kid," The Flash said. I suddenly noticed the group of teenagers in there. A blond girl, another girl with green skin, two completely normal looking guys, and two guys wearing colorful suits.
I followed The Flash over to one of guys wearing a colorful suit. He was in the middle of a video game.
"Hey kid," Flash said.
KidFlash didn't bother to look up.
"I want you to do me a favor. I need to go home quickly so I need you to watch my friend," Flash said.
My eyes widened. He's going to leave me here?
"Yeah sure," kid said. The Flash nodded at me.
"Don't worry. I'll be back in a flash," he said. He zoomed off before I had a chance to say anything.
I stood by KidFlash. He didn't look up yet. I studied Kid for a while. He looked younger than me. I slowly sat down next to him on the couch.
"Hey," he said. He looked up and smiled at me. He looked back to his game. Then he looked back up at me.
"Hi," I said. He was grinning at me and it made me uncomfortable.
"I'm Wally," he finally said.
"Chris."
He stood up and pulled me up with him.
"What's in that box?" I forgot I was even holding it.
"My suit."
He grabbed it quickly and opened it. He threw the cover behind him and pulled out the suit. The box fell to the ground. He held my suit in his hands and smiled.
"So you're fast?" I nodded.
"I like the suit. It must look great on you," he said and winked.
"I look better than the Flash."
The wind picked up and my hair flew everywhere. I tried patting it down again.
"I heard that," a voice said behind me.
"Can you stop doing that please?" I said. I wasn't trying to be mean but I just didn't have a brush to comb my hair out.
The flash sighed.
"Yeah sure whatever. But come on. I think I found a place for you," he said.
I nodded.
"Hey I'm coming. Nothing is happening here." Flash shrugged at Wally.
"Hey Robin! Continue my game will you?" He yelled at the other colorful guy.
Robin nodded and glanced at me. He put a thumbs up and suddenly everything was in a blur. Flash had picked me up. I saw Wally running behind us.
I saw him smile and suddenly I was put down. I took a breath.
"A warning would be nice next time, okay?" I said.
"Hey why didn't you just run yourself?" Wally asked.
"It's a long story."
"A really long story," interrupted The Flash.
"Okay so I found this place. The rent is extremely cheap but I figured you just go get a job selling ice-cream or something." I looked around the crummy apartment. At least it had walls.
"It's the middle of winter. Who wants ice-cream?" Wally pointed out.
"Do you see any snow on the ground?" The flash said.
"Do you have something I can call you by? It's getting annoying to say The Flash a million times in my head," I said.
"Sure. I'm Barry. That's Wally."
I wanted to chuckle at his name. But I really had no feelings right now. Velocity 9 did something to me that made me pretty emotionless.
"Thanks for trusting me," I mumbled.
"No problem!" Wally said and gave me a sideways hug. You know, where he puts a arm around my shoulder and kinda hugs me.
"Yeah. Or you could live with someone. It can't be me, like I said before," Barry says.
"You should probably stay at base for now," Wally says.
I nod and let out a small sigh. This is a new beginning for me. I can start a new life without Blue Trinity, Gregor, or Boleslaw. I think I'm going to be happy here.
