Sara Lance- Goodbye (c)

When a man from the future turns up to tell you that you are needed to save the future by travelling through time to kill an immortal man that wrecks the Earth as you knew it, it wasn't surprising if you needed time to wrap your head around it. You weren't even the one who was told such a thing and you needed to think about it, you couldn't have even imagined how Sara felt. She had excused herself to go clear her head and try to figure out whether she wanted to do it or not. She had a history of not the best decisions, but she wanted to be a better person, maybe time travelling hero was slightly too far in that direction though.

As soon as you heard the door to your home open, you jumped to your feet wanting to make sure she was okay. Sara met you in the hallway, her expression vague and not offering you the answer that you desperately wanted. Of course, you wanted her to stay as she was the woman you loved but if she didn't go then so many people would suffer, it'd be selfish to ask her to stay.

"I was worried about you," you said pulling her into a hug.

You didn't know where she had gone or for how long. As far as you knew she might have already started her time travelling adventure, luckily that wasn't the case seen as she was stood in your arms.

"You didn't need to worry," she stated.

You pulled away from her, trying to read her expression but Sara still didn't show anything helpful. You pressed your lips to hers, hoping you could settle her thoughts, wanting to help her but also expressing how much you missed her whilst she was gone.

"I'm going to miss you if you go Sara, but the decision is ultimately yours, have you made it yet?" You questioned.

She offered you a weak smile. "It's the right thing to do. I don't think I could live with myself if I didn't help. I have no idea what the future holds, but this guy says it's bad and if I can stop that, I need to try."

You desperately wanted to cry but no good would come from that. You knew it was the right decision even if it hurt you.

Sara leaned in and kissed you passionately for what was likely the last time.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, letting herself drift away from you, taking the jump and leaving you alone in your home to save the world.
