When He Asks You Out: Robin (Damian Wayne)
Robin was back at the batcave training with Nightwing once again. He would never admit it, but he enjoyed Nightwings company.
Being an only child, being raised amongst assassins and then being shipped to his father. It was abrupt and sudden. Aside from his grandfather, mother and arguably his father, he hadn't had any real friendships or people he could trust.
Nightwing was his first real friend, someone who he could trust. Though he acted like Nightwing was hardly tolerable, deep down he liked spending time with him.
Robin swung his blade at Nightwing bringing it down over his head, Nightwing joined his escrima sticks and held the staff over his head, blocking Robins attack. Robin continued pushing down with his weapon in hopes to weaken Nightwing.
"Hey, if you were. . . seeing someone," Nightwings eyes widened as Damian started speaking, thinking Damian had caught him out with a certain someone. "And, you know. You had plans to go out. . . where or what would you do?" He asked as he took his blade off the staff and flipped backwards.
"Um. . .why would you ask?" Nightwing questioned, "Besides, why would you want dating advice from me?" Damian raised a brow, "Because you're older than me and from first glance it seems like you've dated a girl or two." He deduced, returning to the old and familiar Damian everyone knew all too well.
Nightwing rolled his eyes but couldn't help but smile. He think parted his staff back into two and charged at Damian, they clashed weapons.
"Well, I'd say, take her somewhere nice, or something you know she'd enjoy. If she's quite and an introvert don't take her to some concert or loud show. Base it off what she's like, if she enjoys music, concert. If she's goofy and laughs at anything, circus. Laid back, movies. I don't know, these are just suggestions.-" Nightwing was cut off by Damian. "No, no these are good. . .ok." He hummed in thought.
"If none of that can be arranged you can always just revert to a classic dinner. . .though. . .you kids these days wouldn't know what a nice dinner is like." he smirked at Damian who returned the gesture.
Nightwing pushed Damian back, spinning his escrima sticks in his hands with precision and skill. "Wait, why are you asking me this? Even if you do have some 'girlfriend', you're like, 12." He said to the young vigilante. "Yeh, and you're like, 40." He retorted back. Nightwing had a hurt look on his face, "I am not!! Not even close." Damian smirked at him.
"Why I need this information is none of your business." Damian finished, sliding his katana into its holder. Nightwing had an appalled look on his face, "After I dive you all my insider knowledge and you don't even let me in on the girl?" He smirked back. Damian rolled his eyes, now he knew Nightwing would never drop this, and probably use it against him. "Her names (y/n)." He muttered, loud enough for Nightwing. "(y/n) ay? How'd you meet?" Nightwing continued his mini interrogation.
Damian shook his head, "That's all you get, unless you're willing to spill about (Nightwings girlfriends name)." Damian finished with the biggest smirk he could conjure, knowing he caught Nightwing off guard. "How- What- But- . . . I don't know what you're talkin' about." He replied, trying to play it cool. "You should lock your phone more often." Damian said before getting on his bike. Nightwing cursed under his breath for being so careless.
"You don't spill and neither do I!!" Nightwing yelled before Damian sped off out of the batcave. He knew Bruce wouldn't be too happy with his own son initiating relationships like this one.
---
You were walking home from school, your hands in your pockets blasting (f/s) through your headphones. From the music being at its highest volume you didn't hear the motor of a particular motorbike going off, that is, until it pulled up right next to you and blared its horn.
You jumped at the sudden noise, startling you. You ripped your earplugs out, furious, as you turned around to bust whoever it was who scared the living daylights out of you.
"What the hell do you-" You turned and realized it was Robin sitting on the bike. "Oh. . .Hey." You smiled nervously, quite embarrassed. He laughed lightly before saying, "Hey."
"What're you doin here?" You asked. "C'mon." He gestured for you to hop on the bike. You didn't see a problem so you hopped on without another protest. He drove you to a more isolated and private area. You two hopped off and Robin looked at you.
"I wanted to ask you somethin'." He said, his voice sounding a little off today, you noted that.
You nodded, insisting he go on.
"Would you wanna. . . go out with me?" He finally asked, ruffling his hair. Your eyes widened in surprise that he'd asked you to go out, this had never happened to you! "Yes!" You answered happily. "Great!" He said equally as happy.
"So when and where?" you asked. "Tomorrow, I'll text you where to meet me alright?" He ran over the arrangements with you. You nodded your head eagerly. He then hopped on his bike and offered you a ride home, you of course, accepted and he drove you home.
You hopped off and waved goodbye before he zoomed off and you entered your house. You flopped onto your bed and realized, 'I didn't even ask him what we were doing. . .oh well!'
