Part 3: Human Meets Android
"What? I like to paint."
~
The kettle began hissing, signaling the hot water was ready for coffee. You pour a cup for the older man and he watches the contraption of the clear coffee maker drip coffee right into his coffee mug. "Sorry I don't have an instant maker. Long story short, mine was stolen."
"What? Who hell steals a coffee maker?" He said. You shrug.
"Stalkers that want a trophy." You say. The two men exchange glances, then give me a confused look. "Did you want a cup, too?" You ask the android. He only speaks to you when looking into your eyes. That's what all androids are programmed to do.
"I do not eat or drink. I am an android."
"I figured. I was just making sure..." You said and your voice trailed off as you looked at him. It got quiet already. "What did you want to ask me?" You break the silence. The man's coffee is finished and he begins to sip at it.
"Yes, hello (y/n). I am Lieutenant Hank Anderson, and this is my partn-"
"Hello. My name is Connor. I am the android sent by CyberLife." He interrupts. Hank sighs.
"... And we wanted to ask you a few questions about the incident last night." Hank finishes. You nod and sip at your coffee. "Okay. Do you have any physical descriptions of the suspect?" You nod your head yes and give him descriptions.
"Did you by any chance catch a car model or color or license plate?" You grin, remembering the funny thing you saw.
"Yeah actually. He had a stupid license plate." You giggle at the thought of it.
"What was it?" Connor asked.
"It read '2slk4u' like 'too slick for you.'" You say. Hank writes it down and grins.
"Clearly not if you saw his face, license plate and he was caught on multiple cameras." You and him share chuckles.
"One thing." Connor adds. Hank raises an eyebrow to him. "Are you aware you are being watched this very moment, and every moment you make a move anywhere? You are being monitored 24/7." He says and stands up. Youshiver.
"What the fuck are you talking about, Connor?" Hank says and stands up facing him. Connor's LED is now yellow as he scans the living room.
"There." He says, and points to my tv. He walks over to it and picks up a bug that was sitting on top of the tv.
"Have you short circuited? That's a fucking fly." Hank says. You are now worried.
"This is what you would call an 'animal android', but just in the shape of a fly. The eyes are cameras and the mouth is a microphone." Connor says. He blinks a few times and stares at it, then hands it to Hank. "Put this in an evidence bag for dissection." Hank pulls out a bag.
"Was that little fly spying on me?" You ask, now paranoid. He nods.
"Yes. I could not track its server location, but with further analysis, I'm sure we could quickly. I have not seen technology like that ever before." You glance around the room with wide eyes.
"Now I'm all paranoid and shit. Someone could be watching me still." You say.
"Incorrect. There are no more in this area except the one I captured. It sent out anti-android coded messages when near me, assuming to cause any nearby androids to turn a blind eye to them. I do not have generic android coding, though. Therefore I was unaffected." He says.
"Are you sure?" You ask. He nods.
"Positive." He hands me a business card.
"If you have anymore information about this stalker guy or any other stalkers, call Connor or come into the station and we'll talk. Connor has 24/7 service." Hank explains. You nod and bid them farewell when they leave. Damn was that android cute as hell.
