Y'all should go check out Those Little Things by lovetori_xo, d book is 👌

In her six years at D.C.A, no one had ever crossed paths with Grace Williams. It was one of the perks of being the daughter of one of the richest senators A.K.A the biggest donor of the school.

Everyone knew not to mess with her. The last confrontation anyone had ever had was in SS1 when a prefect tried to punish her for defaulting the school's dressing code, simply because she added a little bit of "spice" to her hairdo. Long story short, that senior had her prefectship badge stripped off her. Since then, no senior student made an effort to ever confront her and her mates dared not to try any funny business with her.

Even teachers knew not to get in her way. They barely punished her, all except Mr Thomas who metted out necessary measures of discipline irrespective of who you were. The others seemed to be afraid of her, always giving her preferential treatment in terms of grades even though the extra effort was unnecessary as she was one of the top students in her class.

No one could really comprehend the reason for her invincibility. It couldn't just be wealth, because even though D'champions academy wasn't as expensive as some of the top schools in the state, it wasn't exactly affordable either. Most kids that attended the school had parents that were above average and well to do, but she always knew she had an edge over most of the population in terms of financial status.

In brilliance however, she easily topped the class, only losing the first position to Temi-  the class nerd- two times since their jss1.

She was also very beautiful, with bright skin, the color of caramel, full cheek bones, thick lashes and plump lips, she always made it to the top 5 of the "sets finest girls" category of the ridiculous list that Samuel, the class clown and some other weird boys in her set liked to compile every term.

She was a perfect combination of beauty, brains and sass. It made her stuck up and unapproachable and she liked it!

Until last week.

Was it Ifeyinwa or Ifunnaya...she wasn't sure, but the new girl had a lot of guts though, interrupting her business like that and standing up to the one person no other person in the whole of SS3 A, B and C could stand up to.

So she was going to pay.

Grace scanned around her seat which was in the middle of the two columns which SS1 girls occupied. It was one of those morning assembly days when she decided to do her job as a prefect. Sitting on the blue chair with arms folded and legs crossed, she scanned the students under her care daring one of them to make even the slightest noise.

Which of course they didn't.

She heard murmurings from the neighboring columns occupied by SS2 girls, which were coordinated by female sports and punctuality prefect. She turned to her front. As the social prefect, her assistant supposed to coordinate SS1 class with her but was not around. Not that she minded though as she was clearly capable enough to handle the class on her own.

The principal was making some announcements as usual, but she zoned out and went back to her thoughts on how to deal with the new girl when she felt cold hands tapping on her right arm.

Snapping her head to look at the perpetrator, she came face to face with a very dark girl who wore thick green glasses. Her green braces could be seen clearly from the sickly sweet smile she displayed, happy to have received the attention she was yearning for.

Grace raised an eyebrow at her, willing her to say whatever reason she had for daring to lay her filthy hands on her.

"Senior I like your watch" the girl said, the wide smile never leaving her face.

Grace stared at her, mustering up the plainest, uninterested look she could at the poor girl who continued to grin in hopes of getting a response. When she saw no reply was forthcoming, she spoke again. "Where did you buy it?"

She looked down at her watch. It was a purple glass watch, the finest and most expensive watch she owned. Her favourite aunt had bought it as a congratulatory gift to her for winning the prize of overrall best student in SS2, the previous session.

"Did you buy it online?"

Grace scoffed as she turned to face the girl again. Her eyes were big and pretty despite the thick rimmed glasses she wore, her smile which looked like it pained her face from how wide it was remained unwavered. Grace had to admit she was pretty, so for this shallow reason she decided to reply.

"No" she said curtly.

Her off tune didn't seem to discourage the girl as she pressed further. "Did you buy it at the.....?"

"It was imported from one of the finest stores in Luxembourg" Grace said shutting her off

"Oh"

"Any other questions" Grace asked with a tone and face that even the girl was wise enough to get a hint from.

"No senior"

"Good, now shut up and face your front"

The girl cowered back in fear before settling into her seat, other students who had been subtly paying attention to the interaction turned their heads as well.

"Mid term exams will commence from next week Monday. SS3 are mandated to participate in this assessment" Principal powers announced earning groans and murmurs from the mentioned class.

Grace rolled her eyes at her classmates. Lazy fowls. Being the studious person she was, she was prepared for any type of exam even before the term started. She just wished that she wouldn't end up with the same bunch of idiots she ended up with last term because of their compulsory exam seat reshuffling.

The assembly dismissed shortly after and she only stood up when everyone under her watch had left. Quietly

Stepping outside the assembly hall to see her two "friends" waiting for her, she inquired from Aliyah.

"Did you bring the stuff?"

"Yes" Aliyah said with a sinister grin. Grace stared at her weirdly, only someone like Aliyah would be this excited at thought of humiliating someone. Even she just wanted to teach Ifechi a lesson not to cross her path.

As if on cue, Ifechi and Dami walked passed them. When their eyes met, the new girl gave her a small smile to which she hissed.

Who is this one smiling with?" Rachel asked as if hearing her thoughts.

"Lets see if she can still smile after we're done with her today" Aliyah grinned looking at the fresh substance stored inside Rachel's water bottle.

"Why are you holding me?" Ifechi asked the weird looking girl tugging at her arm.

"Shut up and follow me" the girl hissed back. As if she was on some kind of spell, Ifechi trotted along with the girl whose face she still couldn't recognise. She had on the DCA uniform, so she had to be a student.

They stopped in front of a cliff Ifechi didn't know the school contained.

"What are we,..." She started but the girl shut her up with a resounding slap.

"This is for messing with us" she said

Us..? Who's us? Who did she mess with? Ifechi started to wonder but a push from the anonymous figure left her diving head first over the cliff.

She opened her mouth to scream but all she could hear was whimpers. The faceless girl stood above at the edge of the cliff laughing menacingly. Ifechi still couldn't recognise her, the distance between them getting even larger as she fell until all of a sudden she felt someone's hands around her..

Arms?

"Wake up o" someone tapped her again

She pried her eyes open and looked up to see a tall girl gazing at her.
The girl stared at her weirdly probably at the mess of books she fell asleep on top. Her prefectship badge shone due to the rays of the sun penetrating through the window.

Assistant Sports Prefect

"You know it's time for sports right?"

Ifechi sat up and looked around at her now empty class, slightly annoyed that her friends didn't bother to call her when they were leaving. "I didn't notice".

The girl gave her one last look before walking out of the class to chase other students who remained in their classes, leaving Ifechi to think about the weird dream she'd just had.

Who did she offend in the school?

No one came to her mind and it had to be the after effects of sleep that made her to temporarily forget whose toes she'd stepped on some days ago.

Choosing to ignore the dream at the moment, she said a short prayer and arranged her books into her bag before strolling the way to the back of the building where the school's large field, volleyball court, basketball ball court and tennis court were located.

Anita was the first person to see her.

"Ah Ifechi where have you been ever since, we've been looking for you" she said. By "we", Ifechi knew that she meant Dami.

"I was sleeping, and no one bothered to wake me up" she replied making sure to stress the 'no one'. Anita didn't seem to notice as her eyes grew wider at the sight of a certain person. She grinned.

Ifechi looked in the direction and rolled her eyes when she saw it was none other than PG, shirtless putting on a show of doing push-ups on one hand to which students around watched. Other guys in admiration, while the female students gawked at him, not bothering to hide the fact that they were ogling at his sculpted, half naked body.

Shameless people. She thought turning her head away to meet her friend's bedazzled ones.

"Erm...I'm coming lemme go and do something" Anita said sheepishly, her eyes never leaving the center of attention.

"Eh..I thought you were looking for me for something" Ifechi replied not bothering to mask the dissapproving tone in her voice.

"Abeg later, lemme go and do notice me small" Anita said and scampered away before Ifechi could reply. The latter hissed as she took in her surroundings. Students were occupied in several groups doing one sport or another. She sighted Damien at the far end of the field talking with two girls as he clutched a red box in one arm. Recalling the previous day's events, she started walking towards his direction after deciding that she owed him an apology when a figure approached her or rather ran to her.

"Ifechi Ifechi" the girl called frantically. Ifechi was surprised to see Rachel standing in front of hopping as if she was troubled.

"Can...I... help you?"

"Yes please..I really need your help....I think I just got my period" she blurted taking Ifechi by surprise. "Whoa!...Okay?"

"I need yunno...girly stuff" Rachel said the last part in a whisper which Ifechi found unnecessary because there weren't many students at the entrance of the field where they stood.

"Just say sanitary pads" she scoffed, the realization that one of the 'high class snobs' - as Anita used to address Grace and her friends- was talking to her still felt surreal.

"Yeah whatever, do you have?"

"Um..yeah, but don't your...friends like have or something?" Ifechi asked with displeasure. It was weird that she approached her for this problem when she had friends.

"I asked them, I also asked other girls in our class and some from others, none of them have..you're my last resort, plssss" she begged intently to the extent of holding one of Ifechi's arms as she pleaded.

"Okay fine fine, it's in my bag upstairs..lemme go and get it"

"Ah thank God, I'll follow you" Rachel replied shifting closer.

"You don't have to, stay here I'll bring it" Ifechi said already wary of their awkward interaction

"No I'll go with you, from there I can go to the bathroom" she convinced to which Ifechi shrugged and started walking towards the stairs while the latter followed smirking. If only she knew what the girl and her three friends had planned.

Upstairs, the two girls awaited their prey at the door of the class. They had poured some of the oily substance on the floor for Ifechi to slip, after which Aliyah would dump the remaining content all over her body and they would give her just enough beating and dish out all sorts of threats before they leave her in the mess.

The plan was perfect and almost successful when they heard footsteps from the staircase. Grace turned to her best friend signalling as the footsteps got closer.

1..2...

A tall figure came speed walking into the class. The floor gave a 'squeak' sound when the person's foot came in contact with the oil on the floor, she slipped and fell down with a loud thud. Immediately, Aliyah dumped the contents of the bottle on her head which consisted of groundnut oil, eggs, aloe and another substance that gave the concussion a repulsive smell.

The fair girl began to laugh menacingly as the two girls pranced around their victim kicking and hitting with their hands and feet.

It was only when the oil-drenched figure raised her face up that their eyes widened in shock at the realisation of their grave mistake.

It wasn't Ifechi.
