ROCK WAR

The seven of them walked up the street, pushing their bikes along. They had no destination in mind, but none of them really felt like going home

"No, I love being your personal doorman, really," Richie said sarcastically as he rode around them on his bike, "can you idiots of taken any longer?"

"Shut up, Richie," Lacy snapped, having no patience for the boy. Her demand was echoed by Eddie and Stanley, who were also tired of his complaining.

"Oh, okay, trash the trashmouth! I get it," at least he knew he talked shit, Lacy thought, "Hey, I wasn't the one scrubbing the bathroom floor and imagining that her sink went all 'Eddie's mom's vagina on Halloween'!" He pointed out.

"She didn't imagine it," Bill said tiredly, the rest of them stopping to hear what he had to say, "I s-saw something too," he admitted.

"You saw blood too?" Stanley asked.

Bill shook his head, "Not blood, I saw G-G-Geor-Georgie."

"It seemed so real," He said sadly. He had a faraway expression on his face, and was clearly thinking back to whatever he had seen, "I mean, it seemed like him, but there was this-"

"The clown," Eddie put in quietly.

Lacy drew in a sharp breath. Her mind immediately went back to the strange figure in the photo at Ben's house, then to the bright red, grinning lips surrounded by pale skin from the night before. She hadn't realised it at the time, but both of those things distinctly resembled a clown.

"Yeah, I saw him too," Eddie admitted, looking around at them all.

Ben nodded slowly, Stanley repeating the action soon after. They had all witnessed something, Lacy didn't know if that idea comforted her or made her feel even more uncomfortable; it couldn't mean anything good for them if they'd all seen it.

"That's what I saw last night," Lacy added.

"Wait, can only virgins see this stuff? Is that why I'm not seeing this shit?" Richie's voice broke the tension that had risen during their conversation.

"Shut up, Richie," she said tiredly.

Raised voices coming from the tree line caught their attention, they turned to see a parked car on the side of the road. Lacy recognised it, it was Belch's - a friend of Victor's. She cursed under her breath, if she was seen with the Losers she would be given so much shit from Henry.

"Oh shit, that's Belch Huggins car, we-we should probably get out of here," Eddie suggested, fear in his voice.

"Wait, isn't that the home-schooled kid's bike," Bill pointed to a bike that had been discarded in the grass.

"Yeah that's Mike's."

Lacy knew that whatever Bowers' Gang were doing with Mike, it couldn't be good, but that didn't mean she was all that keen to rush in and save him. She glanced at the others, there was no way they were going to let him be hurt like that. She thought the consequences over in her head, all the outcomes she thought of were bad, but it didn't seem like there was any other option.

She sighed, "Well, come on then, lets go help him."

"Do we have to?" She heard Richie ask as she started walking towards the shouts.

"Yes!" Beverly snapped, and Lacy heard her start to rush forward as well.

They walked through the woods and ended up by the river near the Barrens. Lacy was dismayed to see Victor standing threateningly over Mike, Henry on top of him with a rock aimed over the poor boy's head.

"Victor!" She shouted angrily, beside her Beverly crouched down to pick something up and then a rock flew past her face, hitting Henry straight in the head.

She turned to Beverly in shock, highly impressed with the girl's actions but also fearing what was going to happen next.

"Nice throw," Stan panted.

"Thanks."

Lacy stopped listening, turning her attention back to her brother. He was looking at her with a mix of anger, disappointment and fear, she was sure the same expression would be mirrored in her own eyes.

Mike stumbled across the river, trying to get to their side. Lacy thought about jumping down and helping him up, but then everyone around her had picked up a rock each - she thought it was best not to get in their way.

"You losers are trying to hard," Henry called, "She'll do you, you just gotta ask nicely," he said cruelly, nodding at Beverly.

"Like I did." He grinned, grabbing his crotch and laughing.

Lacy reached a hand back and gently squeezed the other girl's wrist - a silent reminder not to pay any attention to him.

"And Victor," he continued in his obnoxious tone. Lacy knew as soon as her brother's name was mentioned that she wouldn't like whatever Henry was about to say, "You didn't tell me your sister was screwing with the losers, I would of thrown her a celebration sooner," he smirked like he had just maks the funniest joke ever.

Victor had an uncomfortable look on his face now, caught in a bad position by both Henry and Lacy.

Copying Beverly's earlier actions, Lacy bent down and picked up a rock. She ignored her brother's cry of 'Lacy, no!' and lobbed the rock at the exact same time Ben did, the boy letting out an angry yell as he did so.

Henry barely managed to dodge Ben's rock - it went sailing over his head into the trees - but he didn't manage to avoid Lacy's, which hit him directly in the privates.

"What the fuck!?" He groaned, sinking to his knees in pain. Lacy smirked.

"Lacy!" Victor hissed, a warning clear in his tone, but she ignored him - that was the most satisfying thing she'd ever done.

"You fucking need to keep a leash on your sister!" Henry shouted at Victor.

Lacy threw another rock, this time it didn't reach him, unfortunately, but it still made Henry flinch back in fear.

"Don't shout at my brother, you prick!" She yelled.

Beverly released another rock and then Belch and Henry both scrambled to pick some up in retaliation. Victor hesitated, but when a full blown rock war broke out, he decided to join in.

Rock's were flying back and forth, everyone was getting hit - Lacy took a painful smack to the knee - and everyone was shouting loudly.

Even Mike joined in and, without Patrick, the Bowers' Gang were seriously outnumbered. They retreated after only a few minutes, disappearing into the woods.

The Losers club followed suit, backing away into the trees on their side, so that there was no way for the older boys to get back at them.

"Thanks guys," Mike said gratefully when they were a safe distance away. "But you shouldn't have done that, they'll be after you too now."

Lacy let out a small laugh, maybe the shock of the day had caught up to her; blood covered bathrooms, creepy clowns and that confrontation with Henry, it had been an eventful day.

"Oh, no no no, Bowers? He's always after us," Eddie informed him casually.

"I guess that's one th-thing we all have in common," Bill said, trying to find the positive side to the situation.

"Well," Lacy spoke up, "They've never been after me before, but I guess that'll change now."

"S-sorry about that," Bill apologised.

"Welcome to the dark side!" Richie joked.

"It's not any of your faults," Lacy reassured.

"And homeschool!" Richie shouted, "Welcome to the Losers Club!"

Lacy felt a strange surge of joy then, she had somehow gained seven new friends in the space of a week, something she had never planned or expected to happen, but it felt quite nice.

Sorry if there's any mistakes, I hope you enjoy it!
