REMUS LUPIN HAD MANY SECRETS. He was a werewolf, a mastermind, and deeply in love with his friend. He noticed the way the girl would smile when someone insulted her, the way she'd never shed a tear about her mother, and talk about all the things she did with her, like she was still alive.

He saw the girl blocking out the truth, and it hurt him to be the one to shake her awake.
