[THIRD PERSON POV]

"I'm sorry?" Davina's voice cracked, surely there had been some kind of mistake.

"102.9 Nanometers of your brain is taken up by radiation." Bruce ran his fingers along the keyboard, another bead of sweat beginning to form at his temple. "Here, look." He flipped the laptop around once again to face her.

Davina's eyes scanned over the screen. "What's this?"

"This is a healthy brain.." He clicked another key. "And this, is in comparison to yours..."

The girls mouth formed a little O shape as she carefully inspected the two brain scans. One brain, the normal one, seemed empty almost in comparison to hers. The red tendrils of radiation covered almost all of the space.

"Well, well what does that mean? You said it isn't possible, what does-"

"It means that any.. normal person wouldn't survive 3 seconds with the amount of radiation you have in your brain."

Davina gulped. "But, I'm not dead? And I feel fine."

"Yes it would appear that way... My theory is that whatever Hydra did to provide you with, whatever it is you can do.. The results may have caused brain radiation manipulation. Whether that side effect was intentional or not, you've got it." Bruce explained slowly, his eyes wouldn't meet hers, they darted around the computer and bench top.

"Well, what will that do?" Davina had pretended to understand half the words Bruce was saying, but honestly, all she wanted was a stone cold answer with what's wrong with her, unfortunately, it seemed that Bruce didn't have one.

"Hopefully nothing, I don't think it'll cause any problems, so you should be fine. We could, evaluate it further with brain surgery-"

"No, I'm good. Are we done here?" Davina snapped. Flashbacks of her HYDRA days sauntered through her mind.

Bruce blinked a few times before nodding.

She jumped out of the chair and walked towards the doorway, pausing slightly once she got there. "Hey Bruce?"

"Mhm?"

"Thank you.."

She didn't wait for him to reply, instead Davina continued walking down the hall.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm- Eating toast?" Davina shrugged.

Vision stood behind the kitchen counter with a blank expression. He looked lost.

"What are you doing?" Davina hit him with his own question.

"Well I'm- Wanda isn't feeling well, Barton told me she like... Soup." Vision blinked rapidly.

Davina had never seen him look this uneasy before, usually he just floated around awkwardly, following Wanda aimlessly around the facility. "She good?" Davina asked, taking a bite of her toast.

"Well it would appear from her symptoms that Wanda is suffering lightly from a common cold." Vision spoke in his robotic voice, he sounded just like JARVIS.

"Do you even know how to make soup? I mean- no offence, I thought you couldn't.. you know.. eat." Davina stammered along her words.

"Wanda has taught me how to cook Ms Penton." Vision spoke calmly, pulling out a pot from the nearest cupboard.

"Um, okay. Well, you have fun then. Oh and tell Wanda to call me if she wants anything." Davina announced, putting her plate in the dishwasher and walking away with the last bit of toast in her mouth.

"Steve." She smacked into his arm as the two collided around a corner.

"Davina- Sorry." He moved away quickly.

The girl looked up at him at an attempt to read his expression. The Captain wouldn't even look at her, she supposed he still felt guilty for leaving.

"Davina I'm-"

"It's okay Steve, it wasn't your fault." Davina cut him off, already predicting his next words.

Steve let out a heavy sigh of relief. "We should have known that the mission was a fake, something to draw us away from the compound."

"Steve don't do this to yourself. There's no way you could have known, there's no way anybody could have known." Davina reasoned with the stubborn man.

"Yes but-"

"Shut up, your blabbering apologies annoys me." She groaned, earning a chuckled from Steve.

"So, hows things?" Steve walked over to the couch with Davina following close behind. The pair sat down and she rolled her eyes.

"Why do I feel like there's some deeper meaning behind that question Stevie?"

"Well- Okay-"

"Oh my God please tell me this isn't about Bucky. Because if it is Steve let me just stop you there, the last thing I want to do is talk about my love life including your best friend." Davina gagged.

Steve laughed and pressed his hand against his temple. "Look Davina, he's my best friend-"

"Oh good lord." She groaned and banged her head against a pillow.

Steve laughed again. "I just thought you should know Davina... Bucky is, complicated. He doesn't love that easy."

"Well then he and I both have that in common." Davina whispered, too soft for Steve to hear.

"He- You just have to be careful Davina."

"Careful? What's that supposed to mean?"

Steve opened his mouth to answer but his eyes dragged away from hers to someone behind her. She turned her head to see Bucky walking towards them and plopping himself down next to her.

"What are you talking about?" He murmured, not really paying attention.

"Oh you know, world domination." She hummed in response. "Well, and Steve's love life." She grinned wickedly and Steve, who only glared back.

"I hate you." He argued.

"Nope you love me." She grinned, giving him the middle finger.

Steve scoffed and walked away to the kitchen, where Vision had started a fire and was now splashing water on it.

Bucky leaned into her side and rested his head on top of hers as she placed her head on his shoulder. "What did Bruce say?" He asked.

Davina bit her lip. "Nothing, all good."

He lifted his head and turned to face her. "Really?"

"Well.. There were a few, peculiar, things but nothing bad. He said it was probably all the doings of HYDRA." She spoke, playing with the ring on her finger.

Bucky tensed at the name and nodded slightly. "That's good." He hummed.

"Yep."

"I'm going to train." He spoke blankly.

"Oh, okay."

"Want to come?" He asked, leaning forward to place a delicate kiss on the side of her head before getting up and heading towards the exit.

"No thanks." She whispered.
