fifty two
[THIRD PERON POV]
"You've got to stop telling yourself that babes." Wanda announced, blocking Davina's gust of incredible power with an unnatural force of her own.
Davina grunted, rolling on the floor to dodge another surge of power, erupting from Tony's training machine. "Telling myself what?"
Wanda sighed heavily, jogging over to power down the machine, leaving Davina standing in the center of the arena, a mildly nasty look upon her face.
"Vinnie, seriously?"
"What?" She exasperated, shrugging her shoulders in exhaustion from both the workout and the arguing session.
"Davina Penton. I am your best friend, and i'm going to be your only friend if you keep up this act." Wanda crossed her arms over her chest, melting into the mother-like roll she was born to play.
Davina chuckled half heartedly, walking over to Wanda and closer to where her bag was. The brunette took a long drink from her water bottle, listening closely to Wanda's lecture.
"-and you have it set in your head that your weaker than you were before having Rebecca! But in truth, i've never seen you more powerful, and it's because now, now you have something to fight for, someone you need to get home to."
Davina cut her off, placing the water bottle back in her bag. "I had someone to fight for before Rebecca."
Wanda's lips curled up warmly. "You know what I mean..."
"Yeah."
The pair were silent for a few moments, encouraging Wanda to speak again. "Vinnie, if your this powerful in a simple training session, how powerful do you think your going to be in the fight?"
Davina shrugged, sitting down on the bench, back against the wall and allowing her eyes to flutter shut. She felt Wanda take a seat beside her, clearly unsure of what to say.
Davina's eyes opened back up, though her gaze remained fixed on the air in front of her. "You know Bucky's still in denial?" She murmured.
"Oh?" Wanda shifted her position to face the Penton girl, Davina doing to same.
"Yeah. He's got it in his mind that if we just ignore them, they'll go away and leave us alone. Or that this is all going to eventually work out for the better." Davina hid her scoff with a light chuckle.
Wanda rose an uncertain eyebrow, intrigued at hearing this new side of Bucky.
The brunette opened her mouth to speak, only to close it and open it again a few times. "Do you ever.. I don't know. Do you ever wonder what life would have been like... Without all, this?"
Wanda's eyes softened at the pain in her best friends voice. The Maximoff looked down at the floor, debating her next words carefully, not wanting to say anything suddenly and upset her.
"I have.." She started, shifting her gaze from different points in the arenas wall. "But I wouldn't have met Vision.. And you. So when I really do think about it, I would rather be living my life in this reality over any other."
Davina smiled. "Yeah. I suppose your right. It's just hard sometimes you know? I feel like the whole world is waiting for me to mess up, to drag me down and wait for me to give up."
Wanda's hand found Davina's, giving it a tight squeeze of reassurance. "Your not alone Vinnie, never forget that-"
Wanda cut herself off, head snapping towards the window. She let go of Davina's hand, eyes full off terrified emotions. She wore a dangerous expression, which Davina couldn't read.
The ginger slowly stood up, small gusts of red energy orbiting around her chipped manicured fingertips.
Davina stood up as well, careful eyes not leaving her friend.
"Wanda.." She whispered, a million questions buzzing around her mind. "What's happening-"
Davina's question was cut off as the ceiling above them caved in, pounds of cement crashing down on them.
Wanda's hands flew up above her head, stopping their near-death cause from demolishing them.
The Maximoff girl flung Davina a crazed look. "Suit!?" She yelled as she threw the weight above them towards the other side of the arena.
Davina ripped off her jacket, revealing the suit Tony had generously upgraded for her.
Wanda nodded. "Run."
The two girls used their unnatural forces to lift themselves off the ground, flying through the open hole in the ceiling and out into the musty air.
Soldiers were everywhere, heavy duty vehicles and aircrafts took up space everywhere the brunette looked. HYDRA symbols were plastered on everything, uniforms, weaponry, vehicles. It was everywhere she looked.
"How did they get past the defence barriers without triggering the system!?" Davina yelled over to Wanda.
The red-head had busied herself with disarming an aircrafts weaponry system. "I have no idea!"
The pair shared a disoriented look. "Find the others, make sure everyones okay and know what we're up against. I'll handle disabling all flying mechanisms on their side." Wanda shouted.
Davina nodded, plunging herself back into the apocalyptic building. She flung herself down the only hallways still standing. Though she was searching for everyone, only one person was on her mind.
Come on Bucky.. Where are you?!
A loud noise startled the girl, causing her to change direction and travel towards the noise.
"Bucky!" She yelled, flinging her body into his, wrapping her arms around him as he did the same.
The man pulled away, gripping both her shoulders tightly and lowering his head to her level. "Are you okay?!" He yelled over the noise.
She nodded furiously. "I'm okay, Wanda's outside disarming the aircrafts but we have to go! Buck- Bucky I've never seen them like this before, it's like nothing we've ever been up against."
"Davina! Listen to me! You need to go, you need to get out of here!" Bucky yelled, shaking her shoulders slightly.
"What! No, no i'm staying here, you can't win this without me-"
"Davina! Shut up and listen to me. Please! It's you they want, they came here for you, they want you back. They aren't going to waste all their firepower if they don't think your here! You need to leave."
Davina's mind raced, she needed to be here, but he was right. If HYDRA had reason to their target wasn't here, they wouldn't waste everything on staying.
Her lover seemed to sense her brain spinning. "Doll, you need to get out of here. We'll meet in three days in the village I first realised I loved you!"
Davina shook her head wildly, tears streaming down her face. Matching tears began to roll down Bucky's face as he began to shake his head at her.
"No, doll listen to me! You know this is the best option we have. There's tunnels underneath the control rooms back closet, you'll need to show your face ID to get through! Once your through, it's a straight path into the woods. Once your in the woods, you can get out."
He brought his face down to hers before she could protest his words, claiming her lips with his own.
"I love you.. NOW GO!"
He shoved her in the direction of the control room, running away from her without looking back. If he looked back, he knew he wouldn't be able to leave again.
Davina didn't allow herself to stand, shellshocked in place and waste time. As soon as her love was out of sight, the girl began to sprint down the nearest flight of stairs, taking the destroyed path to the control room.
She burst into the deserted room, flinging open the only closet, scanning her face across from the darker shaded wall tile. A latch appeared, and the girl forced it open, watching the door seal behind her as soon as she stepped through.
The girl climbed down the ladder, sprinting through the long, dim-lit corridors. She didn't have time to stop and inspect the mold coated walls, or feel terrified of the flickering lights at the end of the hall.
All she could do was keep running and running until she reached the ladder at the end of the hall.
Davina raced up it, slipping on the ferns growing around it. She burst through the latch, throwing her body out onto the forest floor.
A smile began to form on her lips at her small victory.
I'm here! Now I-
Her body fell limp to the floor, blaring lights appearing in front of her eyes from the shock of the taser net.
Her entire body screamed out in pain, her eyes glowing a bright red colour. Heavy shackles clamped around her wrists, and the girl swore she could feel all the power draining from her body.
"поднять ее."
At the Russian command, two pairs of strong arms yanked her body from the ground.
A slim figure sauntered over to her, ripping her head back, forcing the brunette to face her.
The blood rushed from Davina's body, an aching, pounding sensation wrapped itself around her mind as the millions of horrific memories began flooding through her fragile mind.
The other girl smirked wildly at her, gaze shifting towards the two men holding her up as a nasty snarl overtook her smirk.
"получить ее в самолете!" The voice was harsh and unforgiving.
The other brunette shifted her gaze back to Davina, smile only growing as the everlasting seconds dragged on.
A thick Russian accent curved around her english as she spoke, a haunting purring noise escaping her throat.
"Welcome home sister."
