[THIRD PERSON POV]

"You were kidnapped and still managed to get knocked up, that's impressive D."

Davina's cheeks grew as she only just managed to contain herself from spitting Clint's special tea all over the kitchen counter. Her eyebrows burrowed together as she swallowed and looked up at Clint in shock, placing the mug on the bench to stop herself from dropping it.

The brunette burst out into muffled fits of laughter, earning concerned glances from Steve. Clint's face remained solemn, though a small smile began to creep over his lips, unable to help itself from hearing the laughter he had been robbed of from HYDRA.

"I'm serious Vina." He chuckled, ignoring the dangerous look Steve cast upon him.

"Are you kidding me Barton? I get kidnapped for three months by my psychotic family, brutally experimented on in a freezing cold cell, and almost died from hypothermia escaping. And the question you ask me is when my boyfriend got me pregnant?"

Steve rolled his eyes and walked away, finally escaping the conversation. Clint ignored the super soldier, his focus remaining on the healing girl.

The others had desperately tried to get Barnes attention and draw him back to the compound with no luck. Davina had been forbidden to go see him until she had recovered enough that she could walk on her own.

The five days she had been staying at the compound seemed to drag on, each minute lasting forever. It was moments like these Davina was glad she had people to distract herself from her overwhelming thoughts, which were threatening to take over her consciousness everyday she wasn't with Bucky.

On day 2 Davina had refused the wheelchair, since then she had been hobbling around on a singular crutch, though she could feel herself growing stronger everyday. Every second she gained a piece of her old self back was a second closer to Bucky.

"Yep." His eyes moved behind her for a split second, then back to her. "When are you going to tell your kid they're going to be an older sister?"

Davina rolled her eyes, shifting slightly to glance behind her at the sleeping Rebbie, curled up in Wanda's arms. Wanda smiled at her best friend briefly before gazing back down at the child in her arms, a sense of longing cast upon her features.

The second word had gotten out to Natasha that Davina was back, safe and sound, the red-head had brought her baby back. Baby Rebbie was in Vina's arms before 24 hours had hit since she'd returned.

Natasha had left again the next day, claiming that she needed more time with her sister. Davina didn't know the whole story there, she doubted she ever would.

"Rebecca can barely talk Clint, she's just scraping one years old." Davina chuckled half-heartedly.

Clint smiled genuinely, his eyes widening slightly. "Trust me, that one year of no talking is the most peace you'll ever get."

Davina's expression faltered. "Yeah if only I got to spend that whole year with her.."

Clint patted the side of her arm awkwardly. "You'll make it up, both of you will."

At the mention of Bucky, the girls eyes glistened slightly. "I still can't believe he abandoned her." She sighed heavily.

"He didn't abandon her.." Clint's words got lost in thin air, though she waited patiently for his to continue. "Look, Penton-"

"Oh no last name basis. Am I in trouble?" She grinned wickedly, her signature grin hadn't been stolen from HYDRA, she wouldn't let them take it.

Clint scoffed at her remark. "Shut up Davina." His eyes trailed around the large kitchen, skipped over Wanda in the living room. Davina had noticed he never seemed to be able to look at the Maximoff girl for too long, his eyes always seemed to display guilt, though she never thought to ask why.

"Davina, it's not secret I think you could do a lot better than Barnes-"

"Jesus Clint, great opening to your statement." She chuckled, earning a look from the archer making her shut her mouth.

"I've never seen anyone love another person as much as he loved you."

Davina's breath left her body at his words. Her heart seemed to melt on the spot. When the girl didn't say anything, Clint continued.

"I'm not going to root for him in saying he was right to leave Rebbie, but.. Him leaving, that wasn't him abandoning her. He didn't know if he could do it Vina, he was so scared of raising her wrong, teaching her wrong, and then you coming back and being disappointed in him." Clint's voice wavered.

Davina's eyes softened. "He should have known I would have never been disappointed in him." She sighed heavily. "I need to get to him Clint, I don't want him to be alone anymore."

Clint clenched his teeth in thought. "The others would never let you go, you couldn't more clearly be injured Davina. Your going to be here at least another two weeks."

"I can't wait that long Clint!" She whisper shouted, cautious of Wanda listening in from her spot on the couch.

She could see his brain racking in thought. "I know what your suggesting Vina.. It's not a good idea."

"Please Clint, i'm begging you. I'm not asking you to come, I just need help getting out, then I'll be out on the road, and I'll be good from there." Davina pleaded, her right arm gripping the edge of the counter she was leaning on.

The Barton man looked down at his feet in annoyance, then back up at her. "Fine. But Wanda's taking care of your kid while your gone, I've been there done that with three of them already."

Davina couldn't contain her happiness ad she limped over and flung her arms around Clint. "Thank you.." She whispered, her heart thundering in excitement.

He nodded and broke away from her hold to avoid suspicion as Steve walked into the kitchen, grabbing a cup and filling it with coffee.

The pair stared at him, eagerly waiting for the captain to leave so they could get started, like a set of children waiting for their mother to leave the room so they could steal treats from the top of the fridge.

Steve turned around to face them, flinching back slightly at the pressuring looks from the two. His eyes narrowed as he sipped his coffee slowly. "What are you two doing?" He paused momentarily. "Actually, forget it, I don't want to know." He mumbled, leaving the kitchen and walking back the way he had come.

The two silently fist bumped before Davina limped away on her crutch to back a small bag, smiling to herself as she went.

She was going to see Bucky. She was finally going to see Bucky.

Davina had discarded her crutch on the carpark floor, something Tony would most definitely complain to her about after one of his expensive cars ran over it.

Barton helped her climb into one of the many black jeeps in the compounds carpark, throwing her small backpack onto the passenger seat beside her. She flashed him her wicked grin as she moved the seat to her right level and started the car.

"Now remember, I'll only be able to keep the alarms down for 20 minutes, that timer started 4 minutes ago, which means you still have plenty of time to get the car out of the compounds alert radius."

Davina chuckled at him. "Look at you, a dad who knows his maths, that will do you good in the future Barton."

He rolled his eyes at her before looking at her seriously. "Please be careful Davina, I don't want to have another missing person on my hands okay? I'm far too busy for that."

She scoffed. "I'll do my best. I'll be back in 4 days time at the latest, make sure Wanda doesn't steal my baby."

He smiled at her. "Yeah well it won't be too much of a problem now seeing as you've got another one coming to replace her."

"Bye Clint." She spoke dully, slamming the door and backing out of the carpark and into the driveway.

The girl seemed to be holding her breath as she drove away from the compound, fearful that someone would stop her from leaving. As soon as the car left the lands perimeters, she let out an exhausted sigh of relief.

A smile spread over her lips as a thousand happy thoughts took over her mind, each one of them about her lover. The girl hummed as soft music danced out of the radio, her mind dancing along with it as the distance between herself and Bucky became less and less.

Erm.. Hi, hehe. So... It's been like, 8 months? Possibly more? I have absolutely no explanation for why I left, and I'm even more confused as to why I've returned. I started re-reading my fanfic a couple weeks ago to see where I left off and see if it was worth coming back to finish it. I owe it to everyone who read this at any point in the last year to finish this. I don't know how long it will be before I update another part, or if anyone will even read this because it's been so long, but I thought I would just have this here if anyone still wants to read it.

Sincerely
Your fucked up un-consistent writer <3

Also shoutout to @ThatOneInsanePerson for messaging me about ideas they had for my fanfic, I have no idea why but it gave me motivation to post again so I'm really thankful for that <3
