Daylight (3) Re-Edited
Savannah's P.O.V.
I hurriedly left the workplace, packing up ten folders into my hands and hurriedly loading everything into my car, arriving thirty minutes late to pick up Ray. Ray will become irrationally irritated during Granny's hour-long lecture, which will be delivered with such fury and chaos. After parking quickly and not realizing there was another car in the driveway, I storm into the house where Granny is sitting and holding a very fussy Rayna, looking dissatisfied. "I am so sorry Granny, Emerson was just being a huge asshole and wouldn't let me leave. I finally managed to sneak out."
She put her hand up, shutting me up efficiently "I am not going to say anything to you Sanna, just grab Rayna, she's been like this for the past hour."
Walking towards her, I grab Ray out of her arms calming her "I know you need to work Sanna, but as she gets older, it's going to get tougher right now she's almost two."
Slumping down on the couch, with Rayna I feel a teardrop on my cheek, "Sometimes it's too much Granny, handling her, working it's all too much. Mr. Emerson doesn't help either, just piles on more pressure, I miss the days where I would just work at Night and Day and survive off that."
Kissing my hair, "It's only going to get harder Sanna, but don't worry you have me, just pay more attention to Ray alright."
"I am a horrible mother."
'Thank god, I wouldn't want my kid to have a bitch as a mother.' Cage's words rang through my mind as a reminder
"Nonsense. You are an amazing mother, not many could manage what you go through daily."
"You are amazing Granny," I kiss her hand getting up off the couch carefully with Ray since she's fallen asleep. The doorbell rang as soon as I grabbed onto the door nob "I'll get it,"
"No, I will. You go get her baby bag that you forgot on the couch."
I give her a cheeky smile and walk back into the living room, "Oh my god what a surprise, baby!!"
I heard a deep chuckle but continued to mind my own business "That's why I am here, wanted to surprise you, Granny. How did you like it?"
"I loved it I missed you so much how's your dad? What didn't he come?"
"Are you going to keep asking me questions or are you going to invite me in?" My heart skipped a beat, his voice was so similar to Cages. It couldn't be, I shake the thought out of my mind.
"Wait before you stuff me with food, I need to go to the bathroom." I heard Granny laugh
"Yeah just go around the corner,"
Something wasn't right, I needed to get out of there "Granny, I am going to go."
"Wait, meet my grandson before you go."
I pretended to be tired "No, I'll meet him at a later date. I'm really tired."
"Okay, see you tomorrow morning."
Taking a deep breath in I hug her, and walk out the door.
I was turned off by something about her grandchild. I mean, I heard him, not seen him, and his voice seemed far too familiar to be comfortable. The wisest course of action for me was to stay away from him; after everything I'd managed to achieve over the years, I couldn't take any chances.
Cage's P.O.V
Walking out of the bathroom, I see Granny smiling down at a small t-shirt "Who's is that Granny."
"Just small babies that I babysit every day."
I look at her confused, "When did you start babysitting? What about Night and Day?"
"Night and Day is taken care of, and I began babysitting for this young girl about a year and a half ago. She used to work for me but went on to get a bigger job to support herself and her baby. She's the strongest girl I ever met, perfectly managing Mom's life and work life."
"Couldn't she find another babysitter, it-"
"No, I didn't let her. Her baby is so cute, I can't wait for you too to meet, maybe I'll set you two up."
Rolling my eyes at her I say "Granny, I'm already engaged to remember to Dove?"
"I remember, but she's better and Dove is-"
"Granny, I know you think she's a business deal but I truly like her, just give her a chance."
Sighing, she sat down on the couch "Fine, only for you."
Chuckling I give her a tight hug "So where's the food you were going to stuff me with?"
"I didn't make any, I was going to ask Sanna to stay back and help but she looked exhausted so I didn't bother."
"Sanna?"
"The mother of the babysitter, her name is Sanna, and the baby's name is Rayna."
"Rayna?"
"Yeah, why?"
. . . Flashback . . .
"Cage..." Savy said drawing random squiggles on my back.
"Mmmhm,"
"How many kids do you want?" Where did that come from?
"What? Are you?" I whispered looking down at her stomach.
She giggled "No, I'm not pregnant. I was just wondering..."
Smirking at her, I flip us over with her on top of me "I want four, two girls and two boys. Perfect family right?"
"Four?"
"Yeah, any problem?"
"Well yeah, I am not going to go through that much pain four times."
"Making them will be fun though so-" She cut me off by hitting me on my chest.
"Shut up, what about the names?"
"I don't know, "
"I'm thinking for a girl, the names Rayna, Samara, Sadie, and Nova are pretty."
I nodded brushing away some hair from her face "What about for boys?"
"Mm, I like Judah, Noah, Adonis, and Ares."
I thought about the names, all of them were good "For girls, out of them, I like Rayna and Nova. For, boys I like Judah and Ares."
She smiled, laying her head down on my chest "So it's decided, Rayna, Nova, Judah, and Ares."
"It's decided."
. . . Present . . .
"Nothing," I said faking a smile "That name is really pretty."
Why was I thinking about her? "Is my room still untouched like usual?"
"Yeah, go to bed, Sweetie. You look tired."
"Good Night."
The memory was nothing, she was just on my mind because Ellie wouldn't shut up about her, nothing else.
