Savannah's P.O.V

Did he really believe he could take advantage of me in that way and get away with it? Wrong. I emailed Ellie the agreement and all the specifics of what transpired very shortly. I was not allowing anyone get their hands on the Diamond after what I was told was on it; if Cage took this suggestion from her, it would work so much simpler. The one thing that baffled me was how he obtained the blood samples from Ray and Cage for the DNA test. "What are you thinking about Sanna?" Granny said snapping me out of my thought

"Nothing Granny, just couldn't sleep last night. My insomnia kicked in, and my roommate snores so loud that it woke Ray up two times at night."

Granny sat down in front of me, "Why do you need a roommate honey, are you having problems with the money I could help you."

I smile at her, "No, I'm okay. It's just someone visiting from California they'll leave soon."

"You are telling the truth right?"

"Yes, now don't worry tell me what can I help you with. I haven't been here for so long."I was at Night and Day, Granny's bakery that's what I was trying to do yesterday, trying to help her with her orders but Theo ruined everything.

"Well since you got half the order done last night for me, all you have to do is be a waitress today. The one who I had today called in sick."

"Got it," Being a waitress was easy for me, been doing it since I was 16 now being 24 I can say that I'm an expert.

"Oh, and there's your costu-" Granny's smile fell, "I told him to stay away from the bakery today."

Cage and Dove had come in,  "It's okay Granny, I have moved on. Don't be mad at him, this is his bakery too."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I'm going to take their order." Walking out to them I look at Dove and say "Welcome to Night and Day what would you like today?"

"Savannah? You work here?" Dove said smiling "But I thought you worked at DayLight?"

"Granny needed help today so I thought why not? Anyways I needed a refresher so..."

"Oh Right, I would like a cup of peppermint hot chocolate and a bagel with some cream cheese on it please."

"And you?"

"The usual." Cage said smiling at me

"I'm sorry, I don't know your usual order."

"50% less anger from you." My eyes snapped up to meet his, this time instead of smiling he was smirking, that's what he said when he came back again as Blaze...

. . . Flashback (Fight Night) . . . 

I look back at Dave seeing him looking at us suspiciously I put my fake smile back on "How may I take your order."

"I'd like a steak with mashed potatoes and some fries on the side please."

"Drink?"

"Beer."

"Alright and you?" I said glaring at him

" I'd like the same thing but with one more thing added..." He paused for a long time

"What sir? I have other tables to get to."

"50% less hatred from you." My eyes snapped up to meet his "I mean I would like a salad instead of fries."

"Drink?"

"Coke and please don't spit in it." Spit? Please, I would rather put poison in it.

. . . Present . . .

"That isn't an item on the menu Cage, hurry up and tell me what you want."

"Suprise me." Glaring at me, I storm to the back trying to keep my cool for Granny, I didn't want her to feel bad. He knows how to get on my nerves.

Quickly gathering everything Dove asked for I grabbed items for Cage, I knew he would like which were a strawberry waffle with French vanilla coffee. Making my way back I put down the drinks first, then the bagel and waffles "So you do know my usual."

"It doesn't take a genius to know your usual. You have a very bad choice of food. Anyways Enjoy your food."

Quickly walking to the back I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding in. It wasn't just anger for him that I felt around him, it was everything mixed, anger, frustration, desperation, and love...

My phone rang snapping me out of my thoughts, Ellie, "Hey Did you get everything?"

"Yeah, shit who the hell does he think he is?"

"I don't know, but he's Theo Pierce, he wants the diamond."

"I know, but how did he even get the DNA test done?"

"I know that's what's bugging me too. But forget that, this is a huge lead so send all this to Cage, without letting him know what's going on with me okay?"

"Why are you helping him?" I didn't even know the answer to that.

"Because I don't want to carry the burden of more innocent lives, lives that I don't even know about." That was true, but helping him was a choice which I shouldn't have been doing but was.

"Look I am going to delete the email you sent me from both sides just in case he goes through your  phone. So you're safe."

"Okay, love you."

"Bye love you."

"Who are you talking to?" Cage said from behind me surprising me and making me fall into him

Our lips were inches apart, "N-No one."

He raised an eyebrow at me, "Must be pretty secretive for you to be stuttering like that."

Pushing myself away from him, I gather myself up and clear my throat "Who I talk to and Who I don't talk to should not matter to you."

"But you see it does." He said trapping me against the wall with his arms on either side of me

"Well, it shouldn't." I said trying to duck under his arms but he moved them lower "What do you want?"

"What I asked for at the table, 50% less hatred from you."'

"Not possible now move."

"Why? All you have to do is forgive me and 50% of that anger will wear off by itself."

"Forgive you?" I spat out "Why are you suddenly asking for forgiveness from me? You didn't even feel guilty two days ago."

He leaned in closer, "Act mad all you want, the look of jealousy I saw proves that you still have a feeling for me."

"Stop, stop acting because I know what you are doing you used to do it all the time. I am not stupid anymore. I will not become your human resource again. Get the hell away from me."

His whole demeanor changed "Fuck, nothing works with you these days. Then how did Theo get his way into your apartment."

"M-Mind your own business."

"Is Theo your boyfriend?"

Swallowing harshly I look into his eyes and say "Yes, an old childhood friend who has won over my heart. Does that bug you Cage? Does it bug you that I have officially moved on from you?"

He smirked lazily, "I don't give two shits. Good for you, but what bugs me is that all of a sudden his boyfriend is the representative for King Industries, tell me something is he Rayna's father?"

"What do you mean?"

"He is, isn't he? That police officer's story was a lie, wasn't it? Before you came here you fucked him, got pregnant and he didn't want the kid so you moved"

Hearing his cruel words my eyes filled with tears, "Now here he is again begging for another chance so you gave it to him, for let me guess Rayna. A sluts daughter, became a slut I wonder what Rayna will be-" He called my mother a slut, I stood there stunned until I couldn't control myself and I slapped him, he didn't say anything, I slapped him again, he didn't say anything again. I went for the third slap but he caught my hand pushing  it against the wall "The truth hurt?"

"What hurts is the fact that I loved a monster like you, the picture I had painted of you was so, so far off reality."

"Your grandpa made me into this, this is what happens when a 12-year-old child loses his mother to the monster that you called Papa. You wanna know why I hate you so much? It's because while you were living the perfect life I was trying to get my dad to stop drinking. I had to practically raise myself, your family killed my mother."

I stood there frozen, with tears streaming down my face, "I-I"

He left me standing there, "I hate you Savannah, and nothing is going to change that."
