Part 1
Arizona sat in the mess hall, eating a burrito. She was calm right now, but even the smallest twitch could set her off. Nevada walked over and took a seat, being one of the few Freelancers who could say hi and not be killed instantly.
Nev yawned, unable to say a word. She had been shot in the throat a few months ago, and it rendered her unable to speak. Arizona couldn't imagine how frustrating it would be to not be able to yell at the people you were pissed at!
Nevada tilted her head, and Ari knew exactly what she would ask if she could.
"No. I still don't have a boyfriend," Arizona answered, growling. Nev made a "tch tch" sound, which was all she could manage. She tapped her wrist in the "hurry up" motion.
"We're not gonna die tomorrow!" The soldier said in exasperation. Nev gave a skeptical look, opening her hands, in like a "seriously?" motion.
"Easy for you to say! You've got Jersey!" Ari snarled, she wasn't pissed at Nev, she was more pissed at the fact that she was her, Arizona. She didn't want to be Arizona. She wanted to be someone normal, who didn't bite heads off.
Nev sighed, shaking her head. Her boyfriend, Agent New Jersey, was a tall, handsome man, and he cared for her deeply. Honestly, they made Ari jealous. She wished someone cared for her that much. Hell, not even her parents cared!
Nev winced as Jersey came strolling over. "Hi, Nev!" He greeted cheerfully, kissing her cheek. He was oblivious to Ari's customary cold glare. Nev gave Ari and apologetic look, before waving at Jersey. Nev, not wanted to make Ari anymore jealous, got up and left with Jersey. Ari sat, scowling, alone, pissed, at the table.
Ari was just about to take another bite of her burrito, but someone came crashing through the roof. The person had rich, sky blue armour, contrasting with Arizona's sandy pale armour, with black accents. She scrutinized him as he lay there, panting. A smaller person dropped in through the roof and landed on his back.
Arizona was amazed he didn't lash out, or punch her or something, like she would have done. No one touches her.
The blue Agent sat up, rubbing his head. A green Agent with white highlights quickly limped over to the blue Agent. The green one bent down and helped the blue one up, despite the obvious pain it was causing in their leg. Ari knew that the green one was Colorado, an Australian and laid back Agent.
Colorado, after helping Mr. Bluetard stand up, turned to all the Agents in the room.
"This is Alaska, and his sister, Katie." She pointed to the blue Agent, who was looking around, and to the smaller one, who hid behind her brother. Ari watched, interested.
Alaska spoke to Colorado, then Colorado walked away. Alaska looked around helplessly. All of the Agents were silent.
"Hey, asshole, you lost?!" Ari piped up, the tension snapping like a twig. Most Agents chuckled. Alaska shifted.
"Um, yes, actually. Could you show us the bunks?" Alaska's voice had a cold, yet nervous tone to it. Ari liked it, and she beckoned for them to follow. She led them to the bunks, pointing to her room incase they needed help.
"T-thanks.." Alaska said, worried she's gonna lash out. Ari grunted.
"You're welcome, hopeless fucking moron."
Alaska liked that. He didn't know why, but he liked it, a lot. Alaska and Katie started moving into their room, while Ari relaxed in her own. She had a feeling she would get to know Alaska a bit better, soon.
