"HELP! Someone please help me-" 

Dawnkit waved at someone to go help her mother, but it was too late. Whitefall never came up to the surface again after the big wave.

As the waves ceased, the cats started slithering back to their destroyed camp, but Dawnkit stood westward, with the setting sun in her eyes, towards the way Whitefall's body had gone. She knew she had to move on, the show must go on no matter how hard the tragedy. She lifted her chin with a new light in her eyes, and marched down after her Clan. 

Cats were slithering around and waving their tails fast in order to at least have somewhere to sleep tonight. The sun was going down fast, meaning they had not much time to fix the seaweed for their nests; it would be too dark. Dawnkit decided to forget what happened and march over to the kits, where Bluekit and Graykit were crouching by the seabed, ears and tails drooping. Dawnkit marched over them, and mewed, "Why are you so upset?"

"Dawnkit, it's not just you who loved Whitefall. She was popular among us too! She would always give us badger rides..." Bluekit trailed off sadly as he remembered his favourite cat.

"We ALL loved Whitefall," Graykit nuzzled Dawnkit. "You should be sad too. Why do you look so happy?"

"Well the show has to go on, and I'm going to be the one leading it." Dawnkit sniffed, thinking her friends weaklings to be sad about one death. It was only her mother. She hadn't lost everyone... she had Purplestar. And Swiftpool. And... Dawnkit sighed. The more she thought about it, the softer she was, and the more likely she wasn't going to be leader. Leaders of OceanClan were supposed to be physically, mentally, and emotionally tough. Leaders were likely to have lost everything, she thought. But the only way she could train herself into a strong leader; in order to become DawnSTAR, she had to prove her strength. So Dawnkit made a decision that no ordinary cat would make. She was going to go out, and away, to avenge her mother.
