** Dawn **

"Hello babies!"

Dennis' voice is dripping honey, but the smirk plastered on his face and his evil grin is screaming nothing else other than, I AM TROUBLE.

"Hello." I try to feign sweetness but I doubt that it is really successful. Rain glares daggers at him as I don't know why she doesn't like if anyone call her 'baby', neither does she know herself the reason.

"I heard you this morning when you both were gossiping about me and calling me a comic character." The smirk is still on his face.

Oh, no. Shit. "I'm sorry Dennis. I didn't mean it that way. I mean I was not... mocking you. It came out by mis -—"

"But it suits you." Rain comments with a mischievous grin.

I give her a glare, mouthing SHUT UP!

"It was just a silly mistake. We are sorry." I grab Rain's wrist and try walking out from there, but they block our way.

"Come on... there's no need to be sorry. I like it when it comes out through your lustrous lips."
His eyes are lingering on my lips and there is something familiar in his dark purple eyes. I don't know what, but I am kind of having a feeling of déjà vu. But not a good one, something scary.

"Okay. I think we should leave now." We pass a fake smile towards them and starts moving towards Rain's car but they again block our road.

"Hold on babies. What's the hurry? I want to ask you something. Would you like to be my date in the fresher party on this weekend? And..." Dennis eyes Rain from top to bottom and gives a dirty smirk. "your friend can also tag along as Tom's." He points towards a guy standing on his left with blue-coloured hair whose lustful eyes are devouring Rain.

It shock us both. Rain and I look at each other as their narrowed eyes continue raping us.

"Listen, you assholes." I point my index finger towards them, "We are not interested in going with you all as your 'date.' You complimented yourself few minutes back as a comic character, right? So suit yourself as the one."

"What she means is, comic character is only for kids' birthday parties and for their fun. Not for us." Rain points towards ourselves and finishes the rest of the insult.

Tom and the other guy standing on the right side of Dennis narrow their eyes. That same evil grin remains plastered on Dennis' face and his dark purple eyes seem to turn darker and cold.

"Playing hard, huh?" Dennis' voice has turned cold as ice. Again a familiar feeling hit me. My hands sweat profusely and a cold shiver ran down my spine. It roots me to the spot. Everything is getting hazy. I hear Rain saying "NO" and taking me from there holding my hand.
I can't seem to shed off that familiar feeling and as I pass across Dennis, he hisses in my ears "You'll get to know what 'Fun' actually I like."

I enter the car somehow. Rain is blabbering something but my mind is not working properly. I clasp my hands together and clench my teeth trying to control myself. I can feel that the car is moving. I rub my hands on my jeans but I am sweating a lot. Everything is slowly getting dark.

"Dawn! Are you all right?" I hear Rain's voice, but it sound like it's coming from very far. I try to answer her but suddenly a darkness engulfs me. I am chocking in that darkness and the last feeling I got, is the jerking halt of the car.

** Rain **

"Dawn? Dawn? Wake up. Dawny please don't do this."

Dawn is unconscious in front of me and I can't do anything. "Ugh. I am feeling so helpless." I am scared. What the hell happened to her? Why does she have a panic attack, again, that too after such a long time?

"Damn it. What shall I do? Her medicines. Where's her pills? It should have been in her bag. Her bag... there." I bend down and pick up her bag. After searching frantically, I got the pills. I take one pill and put it inside her mouth and slowly poured water through her slightly ajar mouth. God please... please make it work. Taking my phone, I called Nancy to tell her about this.

"Come on Nancy. Pick up the phone. Shit, it got cut. Maybe she is busy." I look towards an unconscious Dawn. "I think I should take her home first. But this road. Uff... it's so packed with traffic. Now I understand why Dawn always takes the shortcut." I am mumbling myself when a car behind mine starts honking crazily. Seeing the increasing amount of traffic, I take the shortcut.

"Finally!" The road is empty and it will take hardly five minutes to reach.

"Dawny please wake up. I've taken the shortcut for you. You can see your dear Shade from here." I am glancing towards the unconscious Dawn and driving when suddenly something passes across me with a very high speed. Like a wind.

"What was that? Ugh... whatever." I shrug my shoulders and keep on driving.

"Hold on Dawn. We have reached." I stop the car in front of her house and is about to open the car's door, when I feel a stir beside me. I look at Dawn who is trying to move her head.

"Hey, you all right?" My tension appears on my forehead as frowns.

"Ah! my head..." Dawn clutches her head with her hand.

"Wait, a sec. We have reached home." I quickly come out of the car and open the door of her side. She tries to come out with her wobbling legs. But her legs can't handle her body. I lower down to her face level and put her arms on my shoulder as she stand up with my support.

But an old lock is hanging from the door. "Hey, where's the key?"

"Huh?" Dawn looks at me with her tired green eyes.

"The key?" I gestur her towards the locked door.

"Here." Dawn takes out the keys from her jeans pocket. I close the door after entering and take her upstairs in her room and slowly lies her down on her bed.

"Do you want to eat anything?" It is late, already lunchtime, and she has eaten nothing except breakfast.

"Yeah, a little." She says in a very low voice.

"Okay, I'll be back within five minutes." I smile at her. She also smiles back at me and seeing her smile, I heave a sigh of relief.

Going downstairs, I quickly pick up an apple from the little basket kept in the middle of the dining table, cut it into small pieces and return to her room.

"Hey! Here's your ap—". In front of me is lying a sleeping Dawn and so,  slowly I leave the room, with a smile on my face.

** Dawn **

"Huh?" I wake up hearing a voice coming from downstairs. "Rain? What's she doing here? And how does I came back to my home? I was in college." I quickly peek at my bird wall clock.

"2:30? But our classes got over at 10:30. Where was I in between?" And suddenly like a flash I remember everything that has happened. Dennis, his words, our conversations, the scary familiar feeling and my attack.

"Shit, I had a panic attack, again." Rain's high pitched tired voice is still hitting my eardrums.

"I must have worried her." Getting up, I go downstairs. I am about to call her when I heard her tired voice,

"I know mom. We have a party today at our house and it's important for me to be there. But please understand. How can I leave her here like this? For God's sake mom she had an attack!"

.....

"Ya mom, I know you care for her too but-—"

.....

"What? You want me to make her come to the party? She'll never agree. You know her mom."

.....

"Okay. I'll try to convince her to come with me. If she doesn't agree then you can talk with her."

I tiptoe behind her and clear my throat.

"Are you okay now?" Rain asks with a worried expression on her face.

"Yeah. I'm fine now. Can I talk with your mom?" I gesture at her phone.

"Huh?" She frowns for a moment but soon sighs as she realizes that I've heard their conversation.

"Yeah sure." She gives me the phone reluctantly.

"Hey Rose."

"Hi, are you okay now?"

"Yeah. Right now I'm absolutely fit and fine."

"So, if I say I want you to come for today's party. Will you? I know you and Nancy, don't like parties. But today I'm asking you to, as you'll be all alone at home. Rain, I and Francis all are really worried about you, darling."

"Don't worry dear. I'm fine. I also know how important this party is for you and specially, for my best friend. She'll be there for sure."

"But Daw-—" I sign Rain to be quiet.

"Are you sure? Will you be okay? I think you should call Nancy and ask her to come early today."

"Yes. I'll call her. And I'm one hundred percent sure Rose. Just relax."

"Okay. But please call us if any kind of problem occurs. And please call Nancy okay?"

"Hmm okay. I'll, for sure."

"Okay. Bye. Take care dear. And call us if you need anything. Love you."

"Hmm. Bye. Love you too."

I give back the phone to Rain, and she look kinda pissed off.

"What?" I raise an eyebrow.

"I will not talk with you." She crosses her arms across her chest and turns her face away from me.

"Rain." I walk in front of her and sit there "I know how important this party is for you. You're preparing yourself for this evening from the past one month. How can I take it from you?"

"But—"

"No but. You're going and that's final. You know na why I can't go to parties. These attacks get worse in crowds and I don't want to ruin your moment. This is your evening. Today you will meet your father's business associates and take the first step towards your dream. The new investor and his family is also coming today. Maybe they'll bring their son too and you don't know, maybe he is the one for you." I wink at her trying to lighten up the mood.

"Okay okay. I got it. You'll not go and neither will let me stay here." She rolls her eyes sarcastically and a playful sparkle gleams in her eyes.

"I think you should leave now, or else you'll get late."

"Okay. But please be safe. And call me. No, I'll call you. I know you'll forget."

"Okay. Mommy!" And then it come to my mind. "Hey, have you informed my mom about this?"

"No. I called her after giving you pill in the car, but she didn't pick up. And my dear dumb ass, don't you think she would have been here now if she knew?" Rain says as she wears her shoes.

"Yeah. Right. Thanks. I think it will be better if I tell her after she comes home. I can just ask her to come early today and once she comes, I'll tell her."

"Perfect. Please be safe." Rain opens the door and leaves waving me bye.

4:00 pm.

The bird wall clock is chirping her melodies with the time. As soon as Rain left, I went to the kitchen in search of food. But there, I found a note on the table.

"Hey, my big girl!  I woke up late. So I couldn't make your lunch today. But it doesn't mean that you get to skip your lunch. I have made your favourite chicken sandwiches with lots of spices. And I am also thinking of coming home early today. Maybe a celebratory dinner? ;)

A smile takes place on my worried face. "I guess, I need not call her anymore. I'll tell her after dinner."

Taking the sandwiches from the oven , I came upstairs. I freshened up and wore a white summer tee with black shorts. After having my food, I made a cup of coffee and prepared myself for a good read.

As the clock strike four, I goes towards the balcony. The sun is still up but not glaring, rather a soothing tint of golden and orange is blending. I don't know why, but suddenly I have an urge to take a stroll in the forest. I quickly put on my blue slippers and walk out, locking the door.

The blending of the woody smell of the forest and the soothing smell of the soil is creating a mesmerizing effect on me. I am awestruck seeing the greenery around. I have never seen so many shades of green. I have lost the count of time. Suddenly my phone makes a ping sound with a message of Rain.

Hey girl, u okay?

Yeah. I'm fine.

I type and send it. I check the time. It's already 5:30. I need to return now.

As I come out from my heaven, I can't leave the place without looking at the sky for the last time. The sun is packing up from his daily work and is spreading his tiredness throughout the sky. Suddenly grey clouds blend with the tiredness of the sun. It's getting darker little by little. "Strange, dark clouds, that too this time of the summer. Looks like something will happen."

As I walk, I feel like someone is following me. I stop and turn around only to meet with the emptiness of the road. Turning back, I am about to walk again when suddenly someone grabs my wrist, drags me in a dark corner and pins me against a wall.

"Leave me! Who're you?" Suddenly a lightening flashes followed by a growl of clouds and my whole body shivers seeing the dark purple eyes in that striking light.

"Shit. Dennis." I mumble.

"Yes baby, it's me and I'm here for fun." He traces his dirty fingers on my open neck with one of his hands. His breath has a foul smell. His dry chapped lips grazes my open skin just above my breasts as he opens my shorts' button.

"You're drunk. Just let me go!" I try to push his body away which is hovering over mine. But his grip is too tight for me to wriggle out.

"Not till you see how hard I'm for you." Though it is dark, I can still see his evil smirk. He grind his hardness on my shorts. Tears well up, and I start having breathing problem. He is about to pull down my shorts when, a shadowy figure jumps out of nowhere and tears Dennis apart from me. I am in a complete state of shock. Every thing has happened in front of my eyes and I am just standing there, silent. That figure has come, taken Dennis and has vanished into the thin air. But before vanishing, I again have a familiar feeling, when I have seen a pair of electrifying blue eyes. For a moment, whoever he was, his blue comforting eyes has locked with mine and I have felt a familiar warm feeling.

The ringtone of my phone zones me back into reality. My phone is lying on the ground as the display  flashes, Mom calling. The rain is pouring heavily. I pick up my phone and is about to answer when my eyes fall on something glistening on the road in the rainwater. I pick it up. A black and golden beaded bracelet with initials SGC.

"It can't be of Dennis'. These initials..." I trace my fingers over the letters as I realize that it must be of that unknown person's. "Who are you Mr. SGC?" My mind drifts back to those familiar blue eyes as my phone continues ringing, Every night in my dreams, I see you. I feel you...
