1. The path towards Unknown
I planned it all perfectly
What,when,where,how,
Everything. But I forgot.
I forgot that Life... is the
most Unpredictable thing
That God ever gifted us.
//Night//
** Dawn **
"Wake up. It's 6:30am."
Ugh... Who's this? Speaking so loudly. I try opening my sleepy eyes rubbing them with my knuckles.
"Dawn, wake up. Do you really want to get late on the first day of your college?"
"Oh, shoot!" I sit up on my bed with a jump hearing angry shoutings of my mom from downstairs. "What time is it? My phone... my phone... Where's my damn phone?" Frustrated, I throw away my pillow, and it landed with a thud on the floor.
Suddenly I feel something hard pressing against my butt. "One sec. What's this I'm sitting on?"
"Hot chocolate fudge! How come my phone slipped down here? Strange. I quite remember I kept it beside my pillow. Ugh... whatever." I roll my eyes seeing my clumsiness.
The alarm of my phone is still ringing and speaking, "Wake up. It's 6:40am." with the music of the rustling leaves. "Hmm. Finally, I got you."
"Mom! It's just 6:40. I will be down within 20 minutes." I shout as I climb off the bed.
"Be quick. I will not drop you if you get late."
I roll my eyes and walks towards my open balcony as I sit there, letting the sun rays kiss my eyes. So warm. It is the first thing I do every day, like a daily routine. I love to see the forest behind my house. When the morning sun shine over all these trees that lurk in the darkness, O God! It is an inexplicable view. I feel like the sun rays are seeking to uncover some kind of truth that is hiding behind these darknesses. "May be one day, I will also uncover all the hidden truths of my life. May be..." I mutter, heaving a sigh.
"But today the forest seems to be... somewhat different. I'm beholding the forest for the last four years but, never had such an unfamiliar feeling before. God knows what this day will bring for me?"
"Dawn!"
"Ugh mom! Sorry Shade, I can't be with you today for long." Yeah, I named the forest. I know it's weird.
I quickly brush my teeth using the mint-flavoured tooth paste and take a shower within 10 minutes using my favourite lemongrass fragrance body wash. Coming out of the shower, I realized I don't have much time. So I pick up a white crop top with a bow, a black ripped jeans and brush my brown blonde hair keeping it open letting the strands flow with the wind. I put nude lip gloss and Tada! I am ready. I quickly take a last look in the mirror. "Hmm, perfect." Picking up my grey sling bag that is lying on the table, I leave my greyish blue bedroom.
"Moooommmm!" I run down the wooden stairs, yelling.
"Finally. Now quickly have your breakfast and go to your college." My mom has given me my favourite breakfast, oats with lots of fruits and honey.
"When did you come back? You were not there when I went to sleep." I say taking the first spoon of heaven.
"Um... I came around 2:30 or 2:45 may be. I checked on you. You were all sleeping and snoring. Hehe." My mom giggles. She looks beautiful when she laughs and her hazel brown eyes twinkle.
"Hahaha. Hilarious." I fake a laugh looking at her.
"How come you get up so early after going to sleep so late?" I ask her raising one of my arch shaped eyebrows.
"Oh, you know I am so talented." Saying this my mother patts her own back.
"Ya, I know. Otherwise you wouldn't have been a journalist. Less sleep and more work." I air quote the last one shoving the last spoon of my fruity oats into my mouth.
"Okay, enough of chitchatting. It's already 7:10. You really need to hurry now." My mom says as she picks up the empty bowl from the dining table and goes inside the kitchen.
I am putting on my black sling back heels when mom says teasingly , "You are looking pretty." and winks at me.
"Thanks mom." Saying it, I open our rose white coloured door and a slow breeze blow away touching my face. I stand there for few seconds feeling the wind and then walks out, shouting, "Bye mom and go get sleep."
I walk fast as it will take 10 to 12 minutes to reach college. Still, I can't miss the soothing feeling that the weather is offering me. Birds are all chirping and trees are dancing with a windy rhythm. Wow! Such a perfect day to start a new life.
After approximately 11 minutes, I reach. Students are all hustling and bustling everywhere. I look up and saw the name.
