"Oh, Vainglorious." Smiled, Luminous hugging the boy close to her chest.

"Luminous your human again! And you're naked!" Squealed Vainglorious wiggling away. "Besides it was stupid for you to come back for me. I swear if you're out of time on that timer."

"I...I'm not." Said Luminous.

Vainglorious blinked, was it just him, or did the tip of Luminous' nose get a little longer?

"We have a long track ahead of us to get back to the tower don't we?"

"No." Said Luminous, biting her lip.

Vainglorious looked a little closer at her nose and it grew slightly longer. He then remembered what Sly said to Luminous before this whole thing started.

"You know, a lie can grow, a cursed flow. That is until it topples, showing as plain as a spot on your nose." He chimed, brushing a long index finger over her little button nose.

"Luminous, are you lying to me!" Yelled Vainglorious.

"What? No." Said Luminous, her nose growing a bit longer.

"Luminous!"

SLASH!

Widely whipped cut in between Luminous and Vainglorious, they both rolled out of the way in the nick of time.

"You would have been better if you would have run, little girl!" Taunted Widely.

"Never!" Shouted Luminous. "I'll never run!"

Vainglorious looked into Luminous' face and saw that her nose had shrunk down to its normal size again.

"Well, then you'll die where you stand." Laughed Widely.

He drank a flask belching fire all over his whip. Widely went to swing his whip again. Luminous held her arm up as it got dangerously close.

"Too much heartbreak so you put up a wall, not even summer will make the ice thaw!"

Vainglorious cast ice shield shielding him and Luminous from Widely whip. The fire whip quickly melted the ice shield. Water splashing all over the two.

"Hey, duckling!" Yelled Braver the bear tossing Luminous her pink shirt.

Luminous caught the unbuttoned pink pajama shirt. She had barely slipped the sleeves over her shoulders when she hit the heart shape armor button.

Her pink pajama shirt turned into a pink leotard, with armored breastplate, and metal boots.

Widely struck his whip at Luminous, she blocked it with her arm guards. But they wrapped around them, dragging her across the dirt towards him.

"Bittersweet is the feeling of an Icicle spear, When you get a feeling of death but without any fear!"

Vainglorious threw an ice spear striking Widely in his weak wrist making him drop his whip. The whip untied itself from Luminous.

"I'll never give up as long as my friends are here!" Shouted Luminous.

Widely went to charge at her again, when Peter pulled out his reloaded gun and fired at him causing Widely to slow down.

"If you protect my citizens I'll cover you!" Said, Peter not taking his eyes or gun off of Widely.

The other animals all stood and stared at this fight, wondering how a witch could be fighting for someone else and not running for themselves.

Was all the information they were told about witches wrong?

They looked over to Peter their sheriff and saw him defending the two strangers. Peter would defend all of them through thick and thin. Because he always did the right thing.

"Then be prepared to be squashed like the bug you are!" Yelled Widely.

All the animals stood in front of Luminous and Peter guarding them. Widely stared at the barricade of his citizens huffing and puffing.

"You traders! How dare you defy me! I'm the absolute leader and noughting will oppose me! I will be the leader whether I rule by fear and trickery or by force!"

Widely huffed and puffed and blew some of the shops and houses down. His body stretched and grew along with his claws, his fur turning as black as his soul, his eyes an angry red sheen.

"Ahh! What's happening!?" Screamed one of the villagers.

"He's corrupted." Said Luminous in awe. It was the first time she had seen someone turn right in front of her own eyes.

Widely towered over her at about ten feet tall with a jaw full of rows of razor teeth. Luminous began to back up when she saw the animals who were in front of her frozen shaken with fear. She saw the corrupted Widely lunge for a small brown-furred rabbit girl in front of her.

Luminous stepped in front of the little girl blocking with her arm guard. All the animals scattered when this happened. Peter shot bullets into Widely stomach, but he just bit down harder on Luminous' arm guard picking her up with his mouth. Her eyes widened as panic set in.

"I really wish I had the Dawn of Fate!" Screamed Luminous as Widely began to flip her over.

"The sweat of the hardened, the tears of the bold, Every ounce of water turns solid cold!" Chanted Vainglorious.

Widely howled, letting go of Luminous as ice gathered around his feet. She tumbled out of his grip onto the dirt floor below. She turned to see Vainglorious sweat dripping from his brow, his birch wand pointed at Wildy as the ice went from his clawed feet to his knees.

Vainglorious' attention drifted for a second to see Luminous staring at him.

"What are you doing? Run you stupid-"

"RAWW!"

Widely broke out of his ice prison before it was even formed. Little shards of ice scattered melting before they even hit the ground.

"Run! He's gone rogue!" Shouted Peter reloading his gun continuing to shoot at the corrupted Widely without much effect.

Luminous wobbled up but before she could stand Widely huffed and puffed and a gale of hot wind shot at Peter. He flew until he hit one of the pillars of the sheriff's office. Crack it then slid back down.

"Peter!"

Luminous ran towards the desert rabbit, but he was passed out cold. Bleeding from his head across his floppy ears.

Widely stomped towards her drinking from his flask. Her eyes widened when she saw his mouth heat up with fire.

A few village animals began picking up stones and throwing them at Wildly. Wildy turned his attention towards the small crowd.

"No! Don't!" Screamed Luminous, jumping in front of the villagers.

Widely let out his fire breath attack, Luminous held up her arm guards. Her arms under her arms guards felt burnt, but she waited for the villagers to scatter again before she jumped up on her feet and began running. Widely followed after her, the fire blazing out of his mouth.

She picked up Peter's unconscious body and kept running as all the houses and buildings burned behind her scorching up in flames. She tripped over a wooden step falling face-first onto it. Her armor disappeared back into its button, but she still held onto the rabbit. Sweat beaded down her face as the flame breath was inching towards her.

"Too much heartbreak so you put up a wall, not even summer will make the ice thaw!"

Vainglorious grabbed Luminous. Pulling her through the swinging saloon doors and behind him as he summoned an ice shield. Wildy breathed fire on the shield. It melted leaving water all over Vainglorious, Luminous, and Peter. Wildy ran out of fire, he drank out of his flask to recharge his attack.

"Why aren't any of your spells working?" Painted Luminous.

"It's hot out here, between that and..." Vainglorious grabbed at his collarbone, the snake tattoo that prevented him from reaching his full powers. "And ya, It's getting harder to control my magic."

"Peter's passed out. What do we do?" Asked Luminous laying the rabbit gently on the hard wooden floor.

"Look, Luminous I found a back entrance. We can sneak out of here and make a run for the big clock tower. Or I don't know, just away from this losing battle."

Vainglorious made a gesture for the door. But Luminous looked out across the battlefield. Tarra, Braver, and the rest of the animals and humans turned animals were fighting corrupt Widely, but nothing they did deter him.

She looked at the heart-shaped armor button on her button-up pajama shirt. It needed time to recharge, but even if she did. It would do nothing.

The only thing that could stop him was the Dawn of Fate and she had lost him. Luminous buried her face into her hands feeling like she could cry.

"Luminous." Vainglorious tugged on her sleeve motoring towards the back door.

Luminous tugged away and Vainglorious raised an eyebrow at her.

"Oh no, not this. Luminous you can't save everyone."

Luminous grabbed Peter's gun out of his holster holding it upside down in her hand.

"You should take Peter and any villagers you can and run Vainglorious. Just, can you find the red prince and Chasem when you make it out of here for me? Please."

Luminous stepped towards the saloon, the doors swinging open when she felt Vainglorious press a kiss to the nape of her neck. She stopped, looking at him confused.

"Don't take it personally or anything!" Shouted Vainglorious blushing. "It's a spell called a witch's kiss. A witch that gives you its marking protects you from its key element but only for a short time..."

Luminous felt the back of her fair neck, and indeed it did feel like something the shape of a snowflake was stuck to her. She didn't know what something that protected her from ice would do against Widlys wind and fire but...

"Thank you Vainglorious." She smiled before stepping outside of the salon doors.
