The next morning, Pinkie woke up at 5:30 am and called her friends. She was very excited for the contest, and they needed to start.

In the phone call:

- Hi girls!! We need to start getting ready for the contest. We only have a few weeks to get ready, so I figured that we should meet at my place at 6:00 am- She said.

- Darling, why did you call us so early in the morning... I was in the middle of my beauty sleep! - Said the fashionista with a face mask and some hairloops in all of her purple hair.

- Sorry Rarity, but the Headmistress said that it would be a very tight competition and I couldn't wait any longer- Said Pinkie Pie with puppy dog eyes.

- Howdy girls! I couldn't pick the phone earlier, I am currently harvesting some zap apples. I'm going to ask Big Mac to do all my chores these weeks. I did it for him when he went on a student exchange program and he told me to ask him when I want him to do the same. Wait a minute, I'll ask him now- Said the apple farmer and ran towards her big brother.

- Hello, I just woke up. What do I take to your house, Pinkie? - Asked a tired Sunset Shimmer.

- Take a few spare clothes, my mum said that you could stay and sleepover- Said Pinkie with a big grin.

- That sounds lovely - Said Fluttershy who had just entered the call.

- Hi, wait a minute, Isn't Rainbow Dash missing? - Said Twilight

- You're right, does anyone know anything about Rainbow? - Said Sunset.

- No, sorry- Said Fluttershy

- I think I know where she is. It's no mystery, she is a sleepy head. She never answers calls unless it is 10 am- Said Applejack

- Then what do we do? We can't wait any longer- Exclaimed Pinkie

- Don't worry, I'll go to her house. Her parents don't mind, she has been my best friend since we were little, and I have always been welcome at her house, no matter what time it was. One day, I came at 3 am so we could play being the devil (because it is said that the devil comes at that hour of the day). By the way, my brother agreed to do my chores- Said the farmer as she left the call, packed a few things and left to Rainbow's house.

- Well then, see you at 6- Said Sunset and everyone left.

Applejack arrived at Rainbow's house. She rang the doorbell. Mrs. Cloud opened the door.

-Hello Mrs. Cloud! Sorry for calling so early. There is a school contest and we need Rainbow to start. Do you mind if I go and wake her up?- AJ asked.

- Of course, head up now, I'll pack some things.

- Thank you- Said Applejack as she ran up to her best friend's bedroom.

She tiptoed inside and got to her bed. There was Rainbow, snoring as usual.

- Wake up, Dash. We need to leave now for Pinkie's house! - Said Applejack, patting her friend so that she woke up.

- Uhh, what time is it? Who are you? - Said a sleepy Rainbow Dash.

- I'm Applejack, and it's 5:47 am- Responded the farmer.

- What are you doing here? - Said Rainbow

- Waking you up and taking you to Pinkie's place to prepare for the contest. Come on! - Said Applejack as she helped Rainbow get ready and run to Pinkie Pie's house.

At 6 am, the seven friends gathered at Pinkie's house. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were panthing from the long run.

- Hi girls, I am so glad you came, Fluttershy worked hard writing some songs the other day- Said Pinkie

- Oh, thank you. You all helped a lot- Said the shy girl with a blush in her face.

- Great, we're sorry we weren't there to help. Although the new girls seem odd. They had some weird necklaces, and were very eager to sing. Right, AJ?- Said Rainbow

- Yeah, they seemed kind of evil- Agreed the farmer

- Well, I'm sure there is nothing to worry about, darlings. Maybe they just want to make a good first impression- Said Rarity.

- We highly doubt it - Said the best friends and pouted. They were determined to investigate why those girls were acting so odd.

- Well.. Changing the topic, can you show us the songs?- Said Twilight.

- Of course! One is called "Shake your tail", the other is called "Awesome as I want to be", and the third and final one is called "Rainbows and friendships"- Said Fluttershy- In the second one, Aj and Rd will sing the main chorus, because you both are competitive.

- Ok, they all sound great. Fluttershy, Sunset, Rarity and me will double check the lyrics- Said Twilight.

- I will bake something to eat- Said Pinkie and she went to the kitchen.

- We will head out to investigate the new girls- Said Applejack and Rainbow Dash.

Everyone got to work. Applejack and Rainbow Dash walked looking to find the mysterious girls. They searched for about an hour, until they saw something strange in a diner. They got close and looked through the window. They saw three girls that looked like the new girls. They were wearing hoodies and their necklaces were glowing. Everyone else in the diner was fighting amongst a sort of green smoke that the pendants absorbed.

- That's very suspicious, they look like they are using magic that comes from the pendants- Said Aj.

- This is so good! Aria, Sonata. Don't you sense Equestrian Magic?- Said Adagio

- Yes, it comes from the window- Said Sonata.

The mean girls came close to check. Applejack and Rainbow Dash ran away so that the other girls didn't see them spying.

- That was a close one!- Exclaimed Rainbow Dash.

The girls went back to Pinkie's house and agreed to not tell their friends until the first round of the competition, so that they don't worry the others.

They kept rehearsing the next few weeks, making sure everything was perfect.

They didn't know that Aj and Rd were right, and the three new students were villains that were going to invade the school.

The day of the competition came, and the friends were on the stage performing their song "Shake your tail" While they were singing, Adagio convinced some classmates to sabotage their performance. Just when the chorus was about to begin, the lights went off for ten seconds and when they turned on again, Applejack's bass and Rainbow Dash's electric guitar were missing strings, and the remaining ones were cut in half. They looked at the public and everyone was booing, except the principal. She looked dazed.

After various performances, they were neck and neck with the new students. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were still not sure about Adagio, Aria and Sonata. When they were getting ready for the performance, Trixie and her minions locked them below the stage. It was dark, and they couldn't make it on time. Then, Octavia opened the door, screaming as she noticed that they were there. She helped them get their instruments fixed as she was a talented musician herself and the friends climbed on stage. Aria, Sonata and Adagio looked furious. They kept singing, but Twilight also started to sing. They sang about their friendship and transformed. With that, their magic created an enormous alicorn in the sky that blasted the mean girls' necklaces and shattered them into pieces. The three of them ran off the stage, embarrassed.

- Told you that they were trouble- said Applejack and fist bumped Rainbow Dash.

That is how seven normal girls: Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer became best friends. They didn't know what threats might come in the future, but they were sure that their friendship would last forever.
