Stupid Griffin with the stupid big eyeballs

This is peacock green. In case you are unfamiliar to the color.

Me and Juniper walk down the road. We are neighbors. She live in the big apartment next to my foster house, so we often walk home together.
I like living near her because I can spend the night with her if worse comes to worst.  I notice she was babbling for a while about her boyfriend. Grant? Was that his name.

"Oh, shut up." I tease causing a smirk from her but surprisingly she does. Juniper says that is a talent of mine, I tell people what to do and they listen. They don't always like it but they do it. I feel bad about it. Juniper's my friend. But to apologize is to admit defeat. C

"So, Queen" Juniper states warily. I laygh lightly at the nick name. There was a long stort behind it, and it ended with her teasing me with the nost dramatic nicknames she could. Eventually it caught on. The only people in the whole school who call me Jane is the teachers. Even the jerk popular kids call me Queen. Not like the way you would address Queen Elizabeth, more like how you would talk about the band.

"I was wondering if you would like to go to a-um... summer camp-? With me. School is out in 2 days." I ponder this for a moment. Maybe Mrs. Lander wouldn't notice if I disappeared. But then I would have to explain things when I got back. I desided to ask her. If she says No I can always sneak out.

"One way or another I will come with you. It can be a 'bonding experience'." She nods a little more certainly and we continue on our way.

I enter the house, peeking my head in to see if Mrs. Lander was there. She was, because thats my luck for you. I slowly creep outside and shut the door. My window is on the second floor so I climb my tree and hop in.

Mrs. Lander's probably drunk again. She's a tall, lean woman and when her temper flares she tends to get physical. So I avoid her best I can.

I always leave my window unlocked, there is a thick branch that runs right past my window on the side of the house, so I can sit on the branch and open the window just fine.

Once inside I look around my room. It's not very big, with black curtains to keep light out in the early morning and peacock green walls. I have always felt attached to the green, like my eyes. It's tge color of life. I want everything to be peacock green. My bed, the house, the streets. But anything I want I have to buy myself. Mrs. Lander only has to require essentials.

I start packing my bag with a few things, such as clothes, my books (I have few), and a beautiful, large, gem. It is, you guessed it, peacock green, but it was given to me from my father. I still mourn hard over my father. I wish I had never known him. As the year turns warmer, his death day draws close. If I never met him I wouldn't lock myself in my room. I wouldn't muss something that I know I can't have.

After packing the bag I decide to go on a walk with Juniper until Mrs. Lander has passed out drunk. I hop back out the window and shimmy down the tree only to see two boys. Two attractive boys.

They were near something. It looked like a very, very, scarily large bird. But it's body shape wasn't that of a bird. More that of a feline. A griffin, yes a griffin. In New York. In ANYWHERE for that matter. I climb up my tree and peer through the branches to watch. I here the boys yell back and forth to one another.

"Why can't Percy or Jason do this?!" An angry voice shouts.

"Because they told me to train you and I believe in learning on the job," a rough voice replies. This came from a boy who wore all black. The other boy-

"Wow" I whisper to myself. He had carmel, chocolate brown hair, blue eyes that looked as though they were made from the sky, and freckles that made constellations. I felt as though a million vital organs just simultaneously combusted.

A long time ago, my father had come home half a week ago. It was one of the last interactions I had with him. We were watching the disney Cinderella. I asked my dad where his princess was. He tried to slowly explain that sometimes princes and princesses don't stay together forever. He nearly started tearing up. I decided then that I was to be independent. I didn't need anyone but myself. I even pushed Juniper away.

"Nico! Help!" The sky boy said, snapping me from my daze. The other boy slowly walks over to the fight. Sky boy was being pushed back, closer to my tree. Sky boy was not doing all that well, he had several cuts and was dodging claws just barely. The black haired boy heaves his sword and kills it with one blow.

Just then I fall out of the tree, distracted, for Sky boy to turn around, exhausted, just to see me there watching.

Hey, I editted this. I think its at least a bit better. Anyway, enjoy.
