Chapter 4 - Celeste

Okay, let's start from the beginning. First of all, Celeste had to battle her brother, Percy, in order to get to her father, Poseidon. Unfortunately, she failed miserably.

So now, she's tied to a ship mast, face to face with Leo Valdez.

"Can you untie me now?" She asked. He shook his head. Celeste groaned.

In the corner of her eye she saw Percy talking with Annabeth. They both kept glancing back at Celeste.

Celeste didn't get it. Why didn't Percy hate Poseidon as much as she did? She thought for sure that he would at least help her fight him off. Of course, she wouldn't of been able to kill him, but it's satisfactory revenge either way.

Celeste tried to reach her pocket when she grabbed something sharp. She winced and saw her golden blood streaming from her hand. Moving her head only slightly, she caught a glimpse of her dagger, her OTHER dagger. Not the one she fought Percy off with of course.

To her surprise, she had accidentally left the blade sticking up, so it punctured her hand whenever she tried to grab it.

Slowly and carefully, she slipped the dagger out, cutting her hands even more. She ignored the searing pain that started to develop in her palms.

Once the hilt of the dagger was in her hand, she tried her best to cut with her hands bound. She was almost finished when Percy stepped in front of her. Surprised, she stared at him.

Suddenly, her dagger was ripped from her hand. Annabeth. Celeste didn't know if she disliked this girl or not, but she was really pushing it.

"What do you want?" Celeste said through gritted teeth. However, she wasn't angry, she was ecstatic. So many long years without Percy being able to see her, and now he can! Of course, they had gotten off on the wrong foot, but that didn't matter.

Percy looked at Celeste with his big green eyes and she fought the urge to look away. That boy could win pretty much ANY argument with those eyes.

"Can you tell us your name?" Percy asked. Celeste narrowed her eyes. She remembered when the curse was first brought on her. She was to tell no one anything about herself. In fact, she was surprised when Poseidon almost blurted it out himself. Maybe in some place in that crazy god's mind, he thought Percy was ready for the truth. But obviously, Percy wasn't ready.

So, Celeste made up a name.

"Kate. My name is Kate." She said. Percy looked at her and nodded.

"Alright Kate. Well-"

"She's lying." Annabeth interrupted.

Percy looked over at his girlfriend.

"How can you tell?" He asked.

She rolled her eyes like he'd asked that question a million times. "Daughter of Athena." She said.

"Oh right." Percy said. He looked back at Celeste.

"Okay. Now tell me your REAL name." He said. Celeste blinked like she was innocent.

Now was the time to put on her scared-mortal act. However, that was going to be hard, figuring that she just sword-fought with Percy a couple seconds ago.

"I. I don't know where I am. I don't even know my name. All I know is that I was supposed to hurt that man and you stopped me." Celeste said. Percy blinked and Annabeth looked unconvinced.

"The truth." Annabeth gritted through her teeth. Her hand was on her ivory sword and Celeste knew that she would draw it soon. She had to think fast.

She felt the ropes that were binding her to the mast. She pulled at them with her fingers, making a thinking face so Percy and Annabeth wouldn't realize what she was doing.

When she felt the ropes snap, she stayed still. "Fine. I'll tell you the truth." She sighed.

In a blink of an eye, she kicked Annabeth and Percy to the ground.

They were both caught off guard.

Celeste ripped off the ropes and ran for the railing. A bulky boy with a Chinese kind of look to him had run up from below deck, probably from hearing all the clatter.

He notched an arrow at her and it flew so fast, Celeste had no time to react. However, the arrow flew right through her chest as if she was air. She grinned and dove into the water, leaving 7 dumbfounded demigods on board.

She wished that one of them wasn't Percy.
