Chapter 15 (Part 1)
When I awoke I was alone in my cabin with a tray of food sitting next to my bed. I smiled softly at Percy's thoughtfulness. I rubbed my puffy eyes before sitting up and eating some of the food. Honestly, I wasn't the least bit hungry, but I knew I would get a lot of crap from my brother and friends if I didn't eat. Plus, I didn't want people to worry about it. I wanted to keep low on the radar, maybe just disappear for a while.
My head snapped up. Disappear. That gave me an idea. One I know would not go over well, but I didn't care. I needed this. I quickly got up and changed out of yesterday's clothes, hurrying out the door.

"I need to go see my mom," I stated clearly, not giving much room for argument. Chiron's eyebrows rose but he didn't immediately say no, which I took as a good sign.
"Mira, I understand you just suffered a loss, but I do not recommend leaving camp," he said solemnly. I gulped at the mention of what had happened.
"That's exactly why I need to see her. Please?" I begged. Chiron sighed.
"You can't go alone," he all but ordered.
"Fine. I'll bring Nico. He can get us there and back with his magic shadow thing," I said, everything falling into place. Chiron cracked a small smile.
"It's called shadow traveling, child."
"Fitting name," I murmured. "Can I please go?"
"If Mister di Angelo agrees, then yes," Chiron relented. I almost jumped around in joy.
"Thank you!" I smiled, quickly leaving his office to find the Hades child.
I quickly hunted down Nico, finding him in the sword fighting arena. Dummy heads were everywhere and straw was all over his clothes and in his hair. I almost laughed. It was funny seeing someone so serious covered in straw. He turned when he heard me giggle.
"Mira?" He questioned.
"Hey, can you do me a huge favor," I asked, giving him my best seal pup eyes. He gave me a wary look.
"That depends on what it is," he said.
"I need you to take me to my mom's. Chiron said I can go if I bring you," I explained. Nico raised an eyebrow.
"Is that all?"
"Yup!" I said quickly. "Shadow travel there and back, easy!"
"Fine," he sighed, still giving me a look that said he didn't entirely believe me.
"Thank you!" I smiled, almost hugging him but catching myself, knowing how uncomfortable it would make him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I quickly packed a few of my things, not needing much. I had already told Chiron that Nico had agreed and we made plans to meet at Thalia's tree in a half hour.
I swung my backpack onto my shoulder, giving Percy a quick goodbye hug. He knew I would be gone for a little while, but didn't know exactly where. I just told him I had some things to take care of.
I walked out of my cabin and climbed the hill to Thalia's tree, seeing Nico already waiting. I gave him a smile.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Yeah, just one thing," I said.
"What?" He asked, giving me that skeptical look again.
"We're not going to my mom's," I said. His eyebrows shot up.
"Then where are we going?" He questioned. I gave him a guilty look.
"We're going to see your dad," I said sheepishly.
A/N: BOOM BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING! Super short chapter but I really wanted to end it at this. I'll probably have another chapter up today, so I'm calling this part one.
