Can the Boy in My Dreams Please Stop Screaming?
Of course I had a dream that night. I always have dreams, whether I want to or not. Thankfully, this one wasn't as strange as my dreams usually are. It started out with me walking on the beach at Camp, but it was pouring down rain. Far out in the water two men were fighting with one another, I couldn't make them out because it was actually kinda blurry. Like I was looking at it through glasses that weren't my prescription. On the shore there was somebody else. They looked like a kid like me. He (I'm guessing because of the voice.) was yelling at the two blobs to stop fighting. "They aren't gonna stop!" I yelled. I kept yelling, trying to get his attention when I felt something vaguely familiar wrap itself around my wrists and neck, string. Why was it always string? I kept yelling trying to get the kids attention but the thin threads wrapped themselves tighter and tighter until they were digging into my skin and cutting off my air supply. I heard a dark laugh as my world faded into blackness and a sat straight up in bed, gasping for air. My neck and wrists still stung as though I had a bunch of paper cuts. This happened almost every morning. I'm surprised that my wrists and neck weren't red all the time, but the marks faded by the time I got dressed and left my cabin.
As soon as I left my cabin I started up walking to the Big House. I wanted to talk to Chiron about my dream but when I got up there he was out on the porch with Mr. D, Grover, and who I could only assume was the Half Blood that Grover was looking after. I stood off to the side not sure I should say anything because Mr. D seemed pretty mad. I could smell grapes all the way from the other side of the deck. He soon disappeared and I figured it was okay to approach.
"Umm, Chiron, can we talk?" I asked, walking over to where they were.
"Oh, good morning Hana." Chiron said, turning to face me. The new kid looked at me from behind Chiron, staring at me like I had grown an extra head.
"What?" I snapped at him, crossing my arms. The kid sheepishly took a step back.
"Nothing." He mumbled, his voice seeming oddly familiar. I narrowed my eyes, but turned to face Chiron.
"I had another weird dream last night." I said quietly.
"Another?" Chiron asked, raising an eyebrow. I nodded and Chiron frowned. "I'm sorry but our conversation will have to wait. I need to show Percy around the Camp. Perhaps you will join us?" He asked. I nodded again. Whoever this kid was he must be important enough for Chiron to show him around personally, but I keep my mouth shut and followed the two of them.
