Chapter 3- Muggle Fun

"IF YOU DO WHAT YOU LOVE, YOU'LL NEVER WORK A DAY IN YOUR LIFE."  -Marc Anthony

ONYX SPRANG UP off her bed whirling in a circle letting her long hair swish through the air behind me. Laughing she slipped over the marble floor over to her closet. Continuing to slip around she grabbed a shirt and a pair of shorts as she had gymnastics lessons this morning and fencing lessons in the afternoon.

Quickly Onyx donned the shorts and shirt and made her way out of the closet and out through the door of her room. She made her way through the crowded hallways quickly untangling her hair as she walked until she reached Uncle Albus's office.

Onyx waited for less than ten seconds in front of the door before the gargoyle jumped aside and let her in. She didn't know why she never needed a password, but she was always let in any way. She trotted up the stairs as fast as she could. Then smiling she quickly grabbed her sword that was hanging on Uncles wall. He didn't want her to get hurt if she practiced without supervision so he kept her sword up here in his office.

Quick as a flash Uncle Albus appeared in front of Onyx and without a word grabbed her wrist and disapparated. She quickly held her breath as she found at a young age that's the best way to not throw up during side along apparition. It gives her a heck of a headache, but she found it's typically better than the alternative.

As soon as her feet hit solid ground she stumbled away from Uncle and just as quickly as he appeared he was gone.

Onyx groaned as she stood up after failing the skill. She was trying to do her ariel which is basically a no-hands cartwheel and needless to say she didn't land properly.

She let out a groan of frustration collapsing onto the floor with her face in her hands. Why couldn't she do this?

For a gymnast as high up as she this should have been a piece of cake but it was giving her more trouble than her first double back-flip.

Suddenly she heard her coach settle down next to her, "What's the matter kiddo?"

Grumbling slightly in her frustrated state the girl answered, "I can't do my ariel. No matter how hard I think about what I need to do, what I know I can do, I just can't do it."

Smiling slightly to herself her coach replied, "Try leaning slightly to the left before you hurdle."

Feeling better about herself Onyx nodded before she sprang back up and began to run. When she felt ready she leaned slightly to the left then she hurdled and twisted as fast as she could and finally, stuck the landing. She smiled so wide she felt like her face was a taut rubber band.

Couch Leona said she could leave and so she did laughing as she twirled around the vault track toward the door.

After, Onyx's shoes were on her feet she quickly grabbed her sword before walking out of the gymnastics building and turning left to continue to her fencing class which was right next door.

Onyx opened the door and winced as the high pitched bell rang ominously. Wordlessly the white-haired girl stepped through and made her way to the girl's locker room and disappeared inside.

She flipped through her combination and opened her locker before undressing and donning her fencing gear, but leaving her helmet off. Quickly she braided her mid-back length hair and curled it into a bun. Then Onyx flipped her sleek white helmet on and picked up her gleaming silver sword before walking out into the practice arena.

"Up Onyx on your feet." Mr. Cortezé called out to the white-haired girl lying in the center of the practice ring after being knocked down by her opponent.

Onyx flipped back onto her feet grinning. Wish granted.

After all, nothing could stop her.
