Estelle's POV

It's the day of the final task and I've been having this bad feeling all week. So I decided to give Cedric the necklace my mother had given me. For good luck.

(Flash back to last night)

"What's this?" he asked as I showed it to him.

"A token for good luck" I told him with a smile. "Mum gave it to me for my birthday and I want you to wear it tomorrow" I stated. "Will you?" I asked.

"Of course I will" he assured me.

"Know that while you wear it, my heart is with you" I told him blushing. He smiled as I put it on and kissed me.

"When I win, I am taking you on a vacation" he told me.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yep" he said.

"You are so lucky you didn't have to do exams, it was so hard" I told him.

"We'll study together next year" he promised and kissed me. "We should get back to patrol" he stated. We then returned to prefect patrol.

(End of flashback)

Anyway, I was having lunch with my friends when Cedric calls me over. "Go get him girl" Patricia tells me in a teasing tone. I roll my eyes and get up. I head over to Cedric, but pause when I see his parent. I look at him confused, he just smiles waving me over. I take a deep breath and smile joining him.

"Mum, dad this is my girlfriend Estelle. Estelle my mum Helen and dad Amos" Cedric says introducing us.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr and Mrs Diggory" I say politely.

"It's lovely to meet you dear" Mrs Diggory says. While Mr Diggory says nothing, giving me a distrustful look. "You're in Cedric's year?" she asks.

"Yes, your son has been amazing" I tell her. "I've never felt more loved and cherished then when I am with him" I state.

"Can you even feel love?" Mr Diggory asks me.

"Dad" Cedric says annoyed.

"It's fine Cedric" I assure him and look at his father. "I'm use to people judging me because of my relatives. I take it you read the Daily Prophet" I state. "Well I want you to know, I love your son Mr Diggory and I'd gladly die for him. I don't care about his looks, the chance he might win a large sum of money. I love him for who he is as a person" I tell him. "Cedric was the first person last year to tell me it didn't matter who my relatives were. I'm not them and what they don't divine me" I state.

"Well said" Mrs Diggory says. "I can tell you have a pure heart and I hope you will visit us over the summer" she says. Mr Diggory looks like he wanted to object, but reminded silent.

"Of course" I say. "Anyway, Cedric I'm sure you want to catch up with your parents" I say looking up at him. "But know, I love you" I tell him.

"I love you" he says and kisses me sweetly. "Promise to wish me luck later?" he asks.

"You won't need it, but yes" I tell him. We kiss again and I return to my table. Fred and George asked if I wanted to make a bet on the final task. I said no.

(Time skip)

We're at the quidditch pitch, it'd been turned into a giant maze. Ludo Bagman announced that the Triwizard Cup had been hidden in the center of the maze. The first one to touch it wins. Harry and Cedric would enter the maze first, as they were tied for first place currently. Then Viktor next and Fleur last.

"Please becarful" I tell Cedric as I hug him tightly. "I have a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach" I state.

"I'll me ok" he assures me. "I love you Estelle, with all my heart" he says holding the necklace I'd given him. I place my hand over his.

"As I love you with all my heart" I tell him and we kiss each. I can't believe how much things have changed between us since we got together. Before I could hardly speak to him. But now, I am declaring my love to him in front of a large crowd. I blush at the thought. "Good luck" I say.

"See you soon" he says as the cannon sounds. He enters the maze with Harry. I go to the stands and sit with Neville. Five minutes later, Viktor enters and another five minutes Fleur entered. Now we just have to wait. Honestly, it's a little boring not being able to see them in the maze. This must be how the others felt with the second task while we were in the lake.

(Time skip)

I don't know how long it's been. But I had a horrible pain go through my heart, something awful has happened to Cedric. But there have been no more red sparks since Viktor was brought out. I told Professor McGonagall and the teachers are doing a sweep of the maze. On brooms over head. When suddenly Harry and Cedric appear with the triwizard cup.

I got up and ran to them. Dumbledore reaches them first and I hear Harry crying. "He's back! He's back! Voldemort's back! Cedric, he asked me to bring his body back. I couldn't leave him... not there!" he sobs.

"It's all right, Harry... it's all right. He's home, you both are" Dumbledore tells him.

"Keep everybody in their seats, a boy has just been killed!" Fudge tells McGonagall and Snape. But I run past them straight to Cedric.

"No!" I scream in agony. I collapse beside him and grab his head. "No, you promised!" I cry. I hear Mr Diggory yelling and Mrs Diggory sobbing. But ignore them. "Please come back" I plead as tears fall. One lands on the phoenix necklace and it begins to glow. I don't know why, but I start to pray.

"Phoenix, s'il te plaît, ne me prends pas mon cœur. Je l'aime de tout mon cœur. S'il te plaît, sauve-le Phoenix" I pray in French. (Translation: Phoenix please, don't take my heart from me. I love him with my whole heart. Please, save him phoenix). I kiss Cedric on the lips and feel a wave of power flow through me into him. When I pull away, he gasps opening his eyes.

"Cedric!" I sob and hug him.

"Estelle" he says confused.

"He's alive!" Fudge says shocked and Madame Pomfrey appears beside us.

"I must examine him Miss Black" she tells me. I nod, but hold his hand. Not wanting to leave his side. "Mr Diggory, can you tell me what happened?" she asks him.

"The cup was a port key, it took Harry and I to a cemetery. I thought it was part of the task, until a man appeared and Harry started to scream in pain. He told me to run, but I didn't I stood my ground pointing my wand at the man. Standing in front of Harry protectively. A voice said 'kill the spare' and I died. At lest I thought I had" Cedric explains.

"I then remember appearing before Harry as some sort of phantom or ghost. But not, I begged him to bring my body back to Estelle and my parents. Then I hear a voice calling for me, begging me to come back. It said something in French and then I woke up to Estelle crying" he states. "Estelle, what happened?" he asks me tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. Wiping my ears away.

"The necklace, it brought you back" I cry. "Mum told me it carried the soul of a phoenix and had resurrection powers. But no one had ever been able to use it before" I tell him. We look at it to see the pendant broken.

"Oh Estelle, I'm so sorry" he says.

"I'm not" I tell him and kiss him deeply. "I love you with all my heart" I tell him.

"I love you too" he tells me. Just then his parents appear and his mum hugs him. Sobbing into his shoulder. "I'm ok mum" he assures her.

"Hospital wing" Pomfrey tells us and conjures a stretcher. She levitates Cedric onto it and we head up to the castle. I stay right beside Cedric, holding his hand the whole way. Refusing to leave his side for a second.
