Chapter One: A Day And Life Of Amelia
I was homeschooled most of my life. Klarion hated school, but he said it would be necessary for my 'future duties' whatever that meant. But when I approached what society called high school, it was about time I got some social skills. My first year of high school was at a small public school in a small town, but I was smart. I got into a bigger, better school, Gotham Academy. I transferred to Gotham and Gotham Academy a few months into my second year of high school. My sophomore year was when I found some, what you could call, interesting things.
"Hi, I'm here to show you around." A blond girl, most likely a senior approached me, "I'm Artemis."
"Amelia," I gave her a small smile. She showed me around the school. By the time my tour was over it was second period.
I was acing my classes by lunch. I sat at a round table that was next to a window. Alone. It was... Peaceful.
"Hi." Peace disturbed. I looked up to see a boy with black hair look at me.
"Hi..." I said quietly. I wasn't going to be rude about him disrupting my peace.
"Mind if my friends and I sit?" A red head girl and Artemis appeared behind him.
"Yeah... Go ahead." I'm guessing this was my welcoming committee. They sat at the round table.
"So Amelia, that's a pretty name," the red head said trying to break the silence that filled the table.
"I guess," I sighed. "So I guess this is the part you tell me your names."
"Barbra." The red head introduced herself.
"You know my name." Artemis said.
"And I'm Dick." The boy with black hair giggled at his own name.
"Okay, okay. I'm taking a wild guess. Your the welcoming committee and your supposed to make me feel 'welcome', but I'm fine." It was my polite way of asking them to leave.
"Actually, we kinda just saw you over here and thought to come see you." Barbra shrugged.
"Well, thanks for the visit." I took a bite of burrito. Dick looked around the cafeteria.
"Looks like no other tables are open. You're stuck with us." He smirked and crossed his arms agains his chest.
"Fine," I sighed.
"Amelia Chaos please come to the office." The intercom echoed.
"It's pronounced Chaso." I sighed, "Looks like I've got to go." I threw away the trash away and left to the office. Part of me was glad to be leaving the table of awkwardness.
"Your dad is here." The administrator explained, "He's in the vis-principal's office."
"Thanks..." Dad? Did they mean Klarion, or was it one of his pals to cover him up? I knocked softly on the door before opening it.
"Ah, hello Amelia!" Mr. Higgins said form behind his desk.
"Hello daughter." Kalrion was there, but he looked completely different. I felt his aura of power around him. This time he looked like a man in his early thirty's, with small square glasses and glossy black hair. To top it all off, he wore a gray business suit.
"What's up?" I asked as casual as possible.
"Oh, it's nothing much. We just need your signature for this sports physical." Klarion said.
"Oh, okay." I sat in front of the papers. I signed away and left back to class.
