Familiar Faces
Everyone sat around a hearth that night. The flames flickered and sparked as everyone recalled the past events until now. "When we're ready, Ender will never know what hit her!" Axel nodded. "Yeah, she's gonna get an Artist's Whip to the face!" Lukas agreed. Leo was sleeping beside Aiden, while Pegasus had said he needed to go out and get something. "So, how did facing your fear feel, Petra?" Jesse asked. "Would you believe me if I said I was terrified?" Petra smiled. "Not really, by how you look now!" Maya laughed. Aiden was watching Maya. She had a really nice laugh on her, and her blue eyes shined in the firelight. He would confess to her soon, he just knew it. After what they had been through so far, Aiden had started to like Maya more and more, even maybe love her. Meanwhile, Maya had started to get a funny feeling around Aiden, as if she had millions of bats flitting around inside her. It was a nice feeling, but sometimes Maya wanted something a little more... maybe have someone feel the same way about her? She didn't know just yet, and Maya decided she would wait to be sure of this feeling. Everyone chatted and laughed for a while until eventually they fell asleep.
Maya woke up to Lukas shaking her. Him and Jesse were awake and Jesse had a torch for light. "Wake up!" Lukas hissed. "What is it?" Maya asked drowsily. "Someone's here!" Lukas whispered. "What?" Maya yawned, but then they heard footsteps. "I hope it's not Ender..." Maya shuddered. She got up and began to search the palace with the boys, shivering slightly in her blue nightdress. Lukas was in a vest and shorts, while Jesse had proper purple pyjamas. "Ya hear that?" Jesse stopped and they all listened. It wasn't just one pair of footsteps, it was five!
"Where is it?" a voice hissed.
"I don't know! Ow, that's my foot!" another voice, a little more feminine, said crossly.
"Sorry! I can't see very well in the dark!" a third person said.
"I can see that. Well watch out, Diamond Head!" someone else scolded.
"Wait a second, isn't Diamond Head a nickname for...?" Lukas turned the corner, and him, Jesse, Maya and the First Order all shrieked in surprise. "What are you doing here?!" Jesse cried. "We... er... well..." Magnus tried to make an excuse, but Ellegaard jumped in. "Oh come on! How long has it been since we went around a temple as a full team?" she raised an eyebrow. "How did you get here?" Lukas asked, curious. "We used this!" Ivor held up another enchanted flint and steel. This one's enchantment was silver. "We found it a long time ago, but we're only using it now." Soren explained. "Yeah, but where are you all?" Gabriel stumbled around the dark, he really couldn't see well. Lukas placed the torch to light up the place, and Maya and Jesse couldn't help laughing to themselves at Lukas' hair. It was messy and tangled, even a little frizzy. "So, why did you choose here of all places?" Maya asked. The Order were getting tired of all the questions. "We just went wherever the portal took us, as always." Magnus shrugged. "Guys? What's going on...?" Jess came and saw the Order. "Bwah?!" she gasped. "Don't be alarmed! We haven't been killed and are ghosts or anything... yet..." Magnus joked. Ellegaard gave him a glare, and he immediately shut up, remembering that she had been a ghost before, as did he and Gabriel. "Hey Jess, are you nervous? You know, about the tests?" Jesse asked. "A little. But I have my friends and family right behind me?" Jess hugged her brother. Maya noticed that the closeness of the twins made Ivor seem a little down. Soren noticed Maya's concerned expression. "Look, we don't really want to talk about it, but Ivor went through some tough things a few years ago. Just don't say anything, OK?" he advised. Maya nodded. "So, what are you looking for here?" Jesse asked yet again. "This!" Gabriel held out a steel scythe. "This weapon possesses unimaginable power!" Soren took hold of it. But then he frowned. "Is it... vibrating?" he started shaking. Maya knew this sign very well. "Drop it, quick!" she commanded, and Soren put it down with a clatter before he was vaporised. "What just happened?" Soren shook his head in disbelief. "It's a Virtue Weapon. How come you didn't recognise it Ivor?" Jess asked, puzzled. "I don't know. I knew it was powerful, but I had no idea it was a Weapon." Ivor shrugged. "Maya? Lukas? Jess? Jesse? And...?" Aiden suddenly came round and saw the Order. "Oh... hey..." he said tiredly. They didn't think he was processing that the freaking Order of the Stone were here! "Dude, are you OK?" Lukas asked. Aiden was silent for a minute. "Weird dream, alright?" he sighed. He looked sleepy enough, with dark circles under his eyes and his hair was like Lukas'. "More like a nightmare!" You were tossing and turning and groaning most of the time!" Axel came with Olivia. "Oh hey! It's great to see you guys again!" Olivia smiled. "Yeah, you too." Ellegaard replied. Suddenly Leo came around the corner. The First Order yelped in fear. "Hey, it's OK! This guy's with us!" Jess assured, but then Leo snarled and growled, slowly coming closer to the Order.
"LIARS!" he roared, eyes flashing with anger.
"What are you talking about? The Order aren't liars!" Aiden stood in front of them defensively. Jess and the others shifted uncomfortably. They remembered that they hadn't told the secret. Leo just kept on snarling. He pointed a stardust paw at them. "These... these posers lied to the whole world about defeating the Ender Dragon!" he eyed the scared group ferociously. Suddenly, without warning, he pounced. He scratched and clawed at them, while they just shrieked in alarm. "Leo, stop it!" Aiden cried. But suddenly a warrior cry ran out. "Hiiiiiiiiyaaaah!" Maya launched herself at Leo and grabbed his muzzle, tackling him to the ground before he could kill the Order. "Reuben! Give me a hand!" she called, and Reuben quickly became a spider, causing Axel to back up nervously. Reuben bound Leo with thick webs that looked fine as silk but as strong as steel. Leo struggled in the net, while Maya panted, a large cut on her cheek. Jess and Jesse quickly made haste over to the old Order, who were bleeding, weak and injured from the lion's attack. Aiden gently put a hand on Leo. "Why would you attack like that? Please, don't ever do that again!" it sounded more like a beg than a command. Leo was Aiden's responsibility, and he didn't want any more people being hurt because of him. Leo suddenly turned to Maya.
"Well done." he said.
"What?" Maya replied. Suddenly the First Order turned into little star lion cubs. They were completely unharmed, and smiling. "You trusted your instict, lady Water. You didn't wait to do what's right. For that is what you'll need in your test..." Leo stood up and shook off the webs like it was nothing. The cubs joined him back near the hearth, leaving Jess and the gang very confused. But Aiden still had a question.
"Jess, why was Leo calling the Order liars?"
