Courage At Heart
"Aiden..." Maya stared in awe. "What happened to you?" she asked. "He's achieved a new rank of power." Pegasus suddenly spoke. "Maya, don't you see? I can take on Ender now!" Aiden smiled. But Pegasus shook his head. "No. You are not strong enough, and neither are your friends. You must reach a higher rank if you are to fight the Daughter that seeks your power." he explained. "Wait, Ender is a Child too? I thought she was some sort of hybrid." Petra asked. Pegasus just stared at her. He nuzzled Aiden. "We are at your side, young master Fire. And lady Water, it is a pleasure." the winged horse bowed. The other star creatures came as well. Leo let out a roar. "If the fallen Daughter is to be defeated, you need to face your fears. Come with me..." Leo turned his side to them. Taking the hint, everyone hopped onto the star lion. Surprisingly, he was able to fit them all, after Reuben turned into a pig. Pegasus flew above as Leo ran out of the temple, everyone whooping and cheering as they sped through the eternal night, the rainbow stars twinkling. "So, are there many? You know, of us?" Jesse asked. "Yes. Hundreds of you, each descended from the first humans in different corners of the world. Sometimes, not even humans. Primordial animals and ancient magic can create you gifted ones. However, darkness and death can lead to corrupted ones. You're lucky you haven't met too many, just two." Leo kept on running. "But we only met Ender!" Lukas then remembered their first adventure with the Children of Balance.
"Herobrine... was a Child?" Jesse asked, reading Lukas' thoughts as usual.
"He was. Same with Notch. They were Order and Chaos respectively. However, I never thought I would meet Life and Death!" Leo smiled up at the twins. Jesse could now be proud of his powers and Wither origins. "Inspiration and Joy, Love and Luck, and Charm and Adventure. You are all strong in your own way, but you must conquer your fears if you are to face Ender." Leo explained ominously. "Hey, what about me?" Reuben complained from Jess' lap. "Don't worry young man, your time will come, as will others. Just asking, how would you rate compassion and loyalty among friendship?" Leo asked. "Well, I kinda think them as equal, and they need each other to pull through, so I don't pick any over another." Reuben replied. Leo nodded as if he was considering what Reuben said. Maya was behind Aiden, and she was a little spellbound by him. Not only did he have an awesome outfit, but something else was there, too. He had a fire in his eyes that could incinerate his enemies, but just keep his friends warm and safe. Suddenly they bounced and Maya grabbed onto his waist. Even though she couldn't see it, Aiden blushed. He still had that crush on her, and to be honest he didn't feel too different. He was still the same old Aiden, just maybe a little stronger. To Maya, he felt warm. It was good. She just wanted to wrap herself with him and feel that warmth for a long time...
"Here we are." Leo announced. A huge blue and white building like a castle stood tall in front of them. Everyone hopped off Leo and went inside. Gold, red and orange walls decorated with banners adorned the halls. Eight different doors lined the corridor, each one different. "Go in, Petra." Leo instructed. "Wait what?" her eyes widened. Leo pointed a starry paw at a powder blue door with a sun on it. "It's your turn. Now go." he commanded. Petra walked over, and for the first time in her life she felt nervous. "Come on, I'm the Daughter of Joy! I can handle this!" she said to herself and walked in.
Just an empty room waited for her. "Weird..." Petra took a look around. Absolutely nothing was there to do. Petra suddenly heard the door lock behind her. Then her eyes laid on her Sun Staff. She picked it up. I wonder how this got here... she thought. Suddenly she heard a roar. Petra turned around to face a new and improved Witherstorm. Petra had the staff ready, but suddenly she winced. Her arm was paining like mad. She looked at it. Sure enough, a purple rash was there, and was spreading all over her.
Not real, not real! Petra thought, but it felt real.
The Witherstorm began to inch closer, it's tractor beams ready. Petra let out a scream as she was consumed by pain. "Petra!" Jesse cried from outside. He tried to run in and save her, but Leo stopped him. "This is her greatest emotional fear. Being weak and useless. She has to face it herself." he nodded, and Jesse stayed put. Petra meanwhile was on the verge of collapse. The Storm slapped her with it's tentacles. But whenever Petra tried to fight back, she was too weak. She was useless. "I won't accept this! Argh!" she clutched her arm. Eventually, she stumbled over and sprawled on the ground. She was still trying to fight, but she knew in her heart that she couldn't do anything.
You win...
Suddenly the pain was gone and so was the Witherstorm. Petra got up. The outfit that she had after dying the first time and facing Herobrine, the blue knight armour and silver visor, had replaced her normal armour. Petra walked out of the room. She felt... stronger, like she had overcome a daring obstacle. The power of the sun flowed through her blood. She calmed down and held out her hand. A small raincloud formed in it. Petra had the power over the weather. Rain was fun for splashing about in, snow was amazing, and everybody loved the sun. Weather was a pure joy generator. And Petra was determined to use it for good. She stepped outside where the others were waiting.
"I am Petra Andrews, the Daughter of Joy."
