A/N: Alright the second chapter of the Reboot of 'Daughter of a Prime' some things are going to be different. also I was wrong; there isn't gonna be three parts to the prologue, there's gonna be four parts to it, with that out of the way, let the story begin. Also this entire part will be Ruby's Perspective.

(Ruby's POV) age:7

Currently I was in my room alone and all I had was an old busted mattress with a few springs sticking out and a dresser right next to my window, I was looking out my window and looked into the outside world wishing I was free from this hell, I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the door open, I was scared to see my 'stepsister' Yang with a disappointed look.

Yang: "Hey, Why are you scared? We haven't done anything......... yet."

Ruby: "P-please leave me alone, w-what did I ever even do to you?"

"You were born you pathetic excuse for a sister," Yang said before punching me really hard in the stomach making me fall to the floor gasping for air, but before she could continue Raven came to the doorway.

Raven: "Ruby! Get your ass in the kitchen and make us dinner! Now!!!"

Yang left with Raven and I slowly got up grunting in pain, when I got to the kitchen I saw my 'Mom', 'Dad' and 'Uncle'. Qrow didn't actually abuse me, he only looks on in what I could only presume was disappointment.

Tai: "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU, WE WANTED DINNER HALF AN HOUR AGO!!!"

Summer: "You little brat!"

They both started beating me for a bit until they left the kitchen so I could make dinner, when I was done I brought the food to them and Tai threw me to the ground.

Tai: "That's for making us wait, now go to your room you little shit!"

I left to go to my room while everyone except Qrow laughed, when I got to my room; I couldn't help but cry.

Ruby: "W-why*sobbing*I d-d-didn't do*sniff* anything t-to any of y-you so*sobbing*why d-do you hate m-me s-so much?"

I could hear them all laughing from down stairs, I just curled up into a ball and cried myself to sleep.

(Timeskip = Next Day)

I woke to the sound of knocking, the door opened and revealed it to be Qrow who had a straight/blank face.

Qrow: "Hey, time to get up, you've got a busy day ahead of you."

He flicked a piece of paper towards me which had all my chores, all of which were in the house, I sighed and got started. First on the list was the dishes and while I was doing them I heard something break

Yang: "DAD! RUBY BROKE SOMETHING!"

Tai rushed to the kitchen and saw the glass on the floor.

Tai: "DID YOI BREAK THIS!?!"

Ruby: "N-no, It wasn't me."

Tai grabbed me by my torn shirt and started beating me while Yang giggled, When he was done he slammed me on the ground he yelled at me, "Don't you ever lie to me again, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME YOU WORTHLESS SCUM!?!?"

I just laid there and slowly nodded and then he left with yang while I was silently crying on the floor, Later I got up and was able to the rest of the chores without anything else happen. Qrow left the house right after I finished, once I was done I went to my room to be alone, later Yang came in with a smug look on her face.

Ruby: "What do you want from me now?"

Yang: "I just came to tell you that we're going out to dinner tonight, well except for you of course; we wouldn't want to be seen with a freak like you."

Ruby: "Just leave me alone, please."

Yang grabbed me and threw me to the ground and started to punch me repeatedly then threw me against the wall.

Yang: "Don't you ever tell us what to do again, next time I'll get mum (Raven) to beat you next time!"

She left and my 'mum' came in and she looked furious.

Summer: "Tai said you broke something today, is this true?"

Ruby: "N-no, it wasn't me."

Summer: "YOU AROGANT LIAR!!!"

She grabbed me by the ear and took me outside in the backyard, she threw me in the shed and locked me in.

Summer: "You just stay in there and freeze until we get back!"

Ruby: "Please let me out of here!"

Summer walked away laughing and a bit later I heard a car start and drive off, they left me in here and it was here, I tried to call for help but no one was around to hear it. I curled up in a ball and cried. That was until I heard the lock on the shed being fiddled with. Using the sleeve of my shirt to wipe my before getting up and slightly push on the shed door. Much to my surprise it was completely unlocked, gently pushing it open I saw no one which confused me greatly; but then I felt something soft brush against my leg making me look down.

A/N: Take a guess who

Ruby: "Did.......did you just.............unlock the door?"

Ruby (Mind): 'Can birds even do that?'

Stepping out of the shed I saw that no one was home still, I went into the house to grab some things, I was lucky that Summer forgot to lock the back door when she left, I grabbed an old backpack and stuffed some food into it. I walked back outside and saw the crow was still there.

Ruby: "Thank you."

that was all I said before running out the driveway away from the hell hole.

Ruby: 'Finally, I'm free............ free at last!'

(Meanwhile at a house on the outskirts in mistral)

On the roof of a house in mistral two children were star gazing.

Boy: "Hey sis."

Girl: "Yea?"

Boy: "Do you ever wonder why we're here?"

Girl: "It's one of life's greatest mysteries isn't it, I mean the product of some cosmic coincidence, or... or are there really gods watching everything, ya know with a pan for us and stuff, I don't know bro it keeps me up at night

Boy: "I Actually have a theory about it myself: I'm touching the ground which makes us slightly connected, and the ground is touching you, we're all connected some how."

Girl: "Wow, that's deep."

The two kids stared up at the night sky in silence for a bit.

Boy: "Hey Tasha, how long do you think it'll be till dinner is ready?"

Tasha (amused): "Is food always on your mind?"

Boy: "Maybe."

Tasha: "(Chuckle) of course you would stay that."

"Big sis look a shooting star," Alex said while pointing up at the night sky.

Tasha: "Oh! Make a wish!"

They made their wishes in silence, but it didn't last long.

???: 'Tasha! Alex! Dinners ready!"

Both: "Coming Mum!"

Alex: "What did you wish for sis?"

Tasha: "Secret, You?"

Alex: "I wished for something exciting to happen."

"I'm sure something will," Tasha said as the two siblings climbed down from the roof and went inside to have dinner, the two of them unknowingly walked inside just as several metal comets entered Remnants atmosphere.

A/N: And that's done. This in my opinion is a way better (Ruby) prologue than the original book, plus we get a bit of background-story Alex and his family, his father is deceased and his identity will remain secret for now, feel free to guess who his mother is, as for Alex's sister; her appearance is below.
