Alright! I am sorry again that we couldn't make it to her event today*Eva apologized*

Tell Hope best of luck from my side tante Elsa*Carina said happily*

Sure baby, and it's okay Mrs.Carlsen, I understand, taking care of your mom is more important right now*Elsa said*

See you soon Elsa, take care*Eva said whilst smiling before leaving*

It's been 20mins since Mrs.Carlsen left and Elsa was getting worried as she was trying to call Mrs.Presley but every time it says it was out of network coverage area.
Elsa was getting restless and impatient as she was getting worried for Hope as well.
The phone wasn't allowed there at the event for students, so she tried to dial Hope's Teacher in charge number but it was worthless as she was getting no response from the other side as well.

Elsa's Pov: I think I should leave now, only half an hour's left until the competition begins. I should leave now, I'll text Mrs.Presley to meet me directly there.

I don't know what's the problem with my car but whenever I am in a rush for something important, it always ditches me.

Come on!! Come on*Elsa said while trying to start the car*

Elsa looked at her watch as the time was running really fast and she knew that Hope might be waiting for her.
She wanted to practice her write-up for the last time in front of her mom before going to the stage.

Elsa sighed as she gave up starting the car again and again. She knew that she needs to take a bus now and the bus stand was 10min away from her house on foot.

She shut the car door behind, locked it and started running towards the bus stand as she was totally able to hear the thunder sounds as the wind started howling whilst it was getting darker.

Elsa's phone started buzzing as it was a call from Mrs.Presley.

Elsa!!Hello!! Elsa*Mrs.Presley said*

Yeah, Mrs.Presley where are ya?*She asked whilst struggling to keep walking fast towards the bus stand in that so unwelcoming and unpleasant weather.

Elsa, I can't hear you but if you're listening to me then I will see you directly at the competition place, it's raining really heavy here and I was unable to make it back to you so I took a bus.
See you there okay?*Mrs. Presley said*

Text me alright? see you there*She said*

Alright..., Mrs.Presley, see you there *Elsa said while panting as she finally reached the bus stop.

Luckily, it doesn't take long for the bus to arrive there as Elsa was inside the bus before the downpour starts.
She texted Mrs.Presley and constantly tried to call Hope's teacher albeit she knew that her teacher must be really busy preparing her students for the stage.

(On the other hand)

Hope's Pov: (while continue walking to peek at the audience to see her mom)

Don't know why but I'm feeling a bit woozy and nauseous.
Where are you, mom? what's taking so long?
People are already gathering in, the competition's gonna start in 10mins.
Aunty Presley, Mom where are you?

*Hope was sobbing from the inside as she wasn't feeling really well she was unable to find the reason behind her woozy feeling*

Hope, come and sit inside the room, the competition's gonna start in a few mins*Her teachers said whilst smiling*

Hope fake smiled at her as she didn't want to show her that she was feeling sick.

Everyone was talking at the backstage and getting excited whilst Hope was feeling nauseous as she gulped to control her feelings.

It wasn't anxiety, it wasn't fear. Hope was really able to deal with these things on her own. No matter what situation it is... nevertheless, she's a very confident and brave girl.
But doesn't matter how much confident and brave you're, there are still a few things only a mother understands about you.

Hope, you'd be going to the stage at tenth place *Her teacher said*

Are you okay? *She asked her as Hope was getting really sweaty despite the fact that it was raining outside and the weather got cold.

Yes..yes.I was just a bit nervous but I am okay...and*Hope was about to say something but her teacher interrupted and said*

Oh! hope, you're our bravest kid, you can do it, cheer up, come on *She said and hugged Hope*

Hope peeked from the backstage for
the last time as the announcer begins introducing the participants by announcing their names along with the school they're representing.

Hope was devastated, she needed to see her mother before going to the stage.
She wasn't talking to anyone but because everyone there was of her age and they were really nervous as well, they didn't notice much about the current state of Hope as they were practising their write-ups.

Every participant was walking towards the stage with a nervous smile whilst coming back with a confident and happy one. Hope was able to hear the crowd applauding for the participants after their recitation.

Hope noticed that her teacher went behind the stage as the 9th and the second last participant is also from the same school as her. She walked towards her teacher with an excuse of wishing best of luck to another kid but actually, she went to look for her mom in the audience.

Meanwhile...

Elsa entered inside the main gate and started walking fast towards the Hall No.7 where the recitation event was going on.

Elsa!*Mrs. Presley said from behind*

Mrs.Presley, I thought you'd be here before me. *She said whilst breathing heavily*

The traffic of really slow because of this downpour*Mrs.Presley said*

Well, let's go inside, I don't wanna thwart her day by not being there when she'd be on stage *Elsa said quickly and went inside the hall promptly*

That's our seats, I am going backstage for a bit*Elsa said and showed Mrs.Presley the row in which their seats were*

Excuse me, Ms.Haugen did I miss Hope's speech, ?*Elsa asked her worryingly*

No no... Don't worry you're just in time *Ms. Haugen said and smiled*

She's inside*She told Elsa*

Elsa's sight falls directly on Hope the moment she enters inside the Greenroom.

Hope baby*She said while looking at her*

Hope stood up from her chair and hugged her mother very tight.

Hope, you're next after that kid alright? well, the Principal gestured me for something from the audience I'll just go and talk to her and be right back here very soon but if they announce your name, go on stage okay?
You're gonna do amazing, I know that *Ms. Haugen said and patted on Hope's head*

And Ms.Elsa, you can't stay here for long, I hope you don't mind going back to your seat to watch your Daughter on stage *She said*

Yeah, just 5 min*Elsa said*

Alright, Good Luck Hope*She said and closed the door behind*

Elsa looked at Hope and said...

Did you eat your lunch? Why are you sweating a lot? You're okay? Baby?*She asked whilst checking her temperature by touching her forehead*

I am not feeling well mom but it's okay, I am not talking to you, I told you to come early, I can't even revise my write-up in front of you now.
I am not talking to you * Hope started throwing all the brouhaha at Elsa*

We still have time, we can...*Elsa didn't even finish as Hope ran inside the restroom*

Elsa was right behind her ...

Hope started puking as nothing was coming out of her mouth just that nauseous feeling was making her do so.

Hope, you didn't eat anything try to hold back and take a sip of this orange juice*Elsa said while taking out a bottle of orange juice from her bag*

Come on, let's go...come with me ..yeah...
Good girl ...
Now sit here*Elsa said politely whilst rubbing Hope's back*

I was feeling dizzy since morning, I feel very weak and tired mom, am I sick, I wanna recite my write-up mom*Hope said in a low voice*

I told you to eat breakfast but you're always in a hurry but I didn't expect that you won't even eat your lunch. Why Hope? What were you waiting for?
You were starving and that's why it all happened.*Elsa said in stress"

You mom, I was waiting for you*Hope said*

Elsa looked at her wistfully while opening the lunch box and feeding Hope with her own hands.

Next Participant Hope...
Are you ready? *The announcer entered inside the Greenroom*

After eating a bit of lunch and taking a few sips of juice Hope stood up and said

"Yes I am ready"

She sat down the very moment while holding her mom as she felt woozy again ...

You're sure? you can go and speak up there?* the announcer asked and scoffed as he was supporting only the kids of his own school*

Yes, she can do it alright? Handover the mic to her, she didn't eat anything since morning that's why this happened, she's totally fine *Elsa said*

I have worked really hard on it, I wanna do it *Hope said*

Look at you, you're not in a state to even stand properly*The anchor taunted*

You're no one to decide, give her mic*Elsa said whilst raising her voice*

Who are you by the way? Her teacher?*The anchor raised his voice*

Yes, I am her teacher, now give her the mic and go announce her name on stage or it won't take any longer to complain about you to your seniors. I know why you're doing this.*Elsa said*
