"Ittekimasu," Kaimen uttered lazily to his okaa-san who is seated behind the wheel. He keeps his tone low, almost looking bored, trying so hard not to show his excitement for the day.

He leans on the front, quickly pecking his baby sister on the cheek, and then he gathers his backpack and luggage with him before going out of the car.

As soon as he sees the looming building of the ice rink center, he readies his trained feet to bolt inside but his mom calls for him from the car's window.

"Kaimen! Your bento!"

He moves fast to grab the cloth, but his mom pulls him closer for another lecture.

"Remember the rules, Kaimen. Don't approach him and don't talk to him. Don't you dare give him any problem, got that?"

"I know, mom," he rolls his eyes, sighing.

His mom chortles, seeing his son's impatience.

"Go now, have fun!"

"Haaaai," he runs into the cemented pathway, making his way through the group of kids that are attending ice skating lessons like him.

As soon as he enters the glass doors, he found his friend Ichika sitting on one of the plastic chairs in the waiting corner, her nose glued on a manga again.

Kaimen rolls his eyes when he reads the cover that looks like to be a romance title. He often sees those in girls of Ichika's age these days.

"Why are you always wasting your time reading that?" he pulls his luggage next to him then holds his hips to her.

"Kaimen! Ohayou," she looks up to him with her usual sweet smile. "Hold a sec, I'm already in the good part. Tsukasa and Tsukushi are having their second kiss!" she squeals in excitement.

"Gaahh," Kaimen sticks out his tongue, totally grossed out by the word 'kiss'.

"Just throw that away and look what I've got here," he holds the hardbound book that he fished out from his backpack, showing it off to Ichika.

She gasps in surprise looking at the book that Kaimen's holding, her romance book falling from her hands.

It was the latest copy of last season's photobook of their favorite skater, Ojiro Korishima. It contains a series of new photos of him during his short program and free skating, practice sessions in Nippon Cup, All Japan nationals and Worlds with some bonus Q & A's.

Ichika and Kaimen have been following him since childhood, watching all his ice shows, interviews, and competitions.

Kaimen got the chance to see him perform at Worlds in Saitama with his okaq-san, and it was, by far, the best skating that he had seen in his life.

Ojiro Korishima is one of the biggest names in the figure skating world, dominating the sport for consecutive years up to the present.

Japan loves sports that's why athletes in the country are all treated like celebrities. Among the countries that organizes skating events, Japan has an unmatched love of figure skating, and Ojiro Korishima has long been a household name in the country.

There are great skaters, but to Kaimen, when Korishima-senshu defended his Olympic title in Oslo, Norway, earning the highest score in men's singles in history and being the first male to win back-to-back Olympic gold in all Asia in a winter sport, he was convinced that he was indeed the greatest skater ever to grace the ice.

"Wow, this is so cool," she gasps again, looking at Ojiro's signature above his name on the title page.

"Deshou? Right? " he chimes in proudly.

The two are busily scanning the book together, when all of the sudden, they hear a commotion outside. One look into each other's eyes, and they already knew what the fuss is about.

They scramble into their feet, and both press their faces into the glass wall to see clearer. There outside, Ojiro Korishima is in his usual track jacket and pants while he's pulling his luggage. A crowd of skating fans gathers around to get a good view of him.

He greets everyone quickly, bowing his head, and then pulls open the glass door. He enters the building in haste, passing Kaimen and Ichika, who follow him with their gazes, not even blinking their eyes.

When he's gone, the two children gather their luggage and backpack quickly, following Ojiro along with the other people and kids to the warmup area.

The place is getting packed, but Kaimen and Ichika found a good spot to stretch and to have a good view of Ojiro in the far corner doing a workout with his trainer.

This is one of the main reasons Kaimen getting pumped up for the day. Besides the fact that it's weekend and he can finally take skating lessons in longer time than regular days, he can also be able to see the person he's been looking up to.

It's Saturday and it's the only time of the week that they can get a glimpse of Korishima-senshu training in the rink.

Kaimen has already passed all the fundamental skating moves in basic level, and won two novice level competitions in Malaysia and Thailand when he's 10 years old.

He only enrolled in a skating class in the ice rink center because it's where Korishima-senshu trains. He's difficult to spot in the rink on regular days and he can't believe his luck when he started attending their class during weekend to teach them one or two basic skating.

But Kaimen won't care about basics. It's his chance to show him off the double Axel jump that he's been practicing.

Figure skating is composed of two major fields: the art and the jumps. Jumps are where the huge points come from. There are a variety of jumps but the most difficult one is the Axel jump. Double Axel is the female single's standard while triple Axel is men's single's standard. Korishima-senshu started landing double Axels when he was just 9 years old and what makes Korishima senshu's triple Axel special is he's been landing it consistently for almost a decade now.

Kaimen and Ichika take turns helping each other stretch but end up watching Korishima-senshu work out together with everyone. They maintain their distance while he uses his preparatory stance to jump in half to three quarter turns, singles, and then doubles.

Kaimen watches his footwork intently, unconsciously holding his breath when he does a triple toe on land. Everyone breaks in a loud cheer. Kaimen and Ichika look at each other, both their faces shining in delight.

The two children are starting to enjoy themselves more watching Korishima-senshu's off ice warm up when they heard their sensei's angry voice calling for them. The crowd scatters immediately going back to what they are doing.

It is time for them to go on ice so their sensei instructed them to put on their skates.

Getting on ice is Kaimen's favorite part. Having the chance to skate and train with Ojiro Korishima is the best feeling for him ever, it was indeed an almost perfect day except for one thing...
