Chapter 21.2: The Things we Do for Love
One rotation, and it's already enough as an effort for the day's class.
And second. Louise heard among her classmates that Ojiro was in fact, quite strict about proper ice skating.
"What do you mean strict? Isn't he supposed to be the sweet kind?" she asked her classmate one time.
Her classmate gave her a weird look. "It's Korishima-senshu." she just shrugged.
Wow, thanks. Very helpful.
"Minna-san! Everyone! Let's welcome Korishima-senshu; he's going to teach us some important elements for today's class at the last minute, so make sure to pay attention."
"Yoroshiku onegaishimasu! I'm looking forward to have a good work with you!" Ojiro greets them, smiling cheerfully as he bows. He looks at her direction and nods to her casually.
Don't give me that cute face. I will not forgive you for this betrayal! How dare you!
Ojiro switches to his serious, focused, professor mode, which she has already seen many times, something she doesn't dare mess with.
And her panicking becomes worse.
Louise is maybe stuck with children, but they are already trained in their younger years, so they didn't need to wear a stupid helmet and protective gear, leaving her as the only adult wearing them.
Ojiro starts the lesson, approaching the children one by one to check on their basic spins. It was so adorable to watch and it's all fun until he pointed out their mistakes, showing them the proper posture and positions, telling them in his strict voice that they need to work on it more.
As Louise's turn is getting closer, she glances in all directions, looking for escape.
"Konnichiwa." Ojiro's voice greets her from behind, which made her jump in surprise. "Hello."
"Ay! Satanas!" she exclaims.
"Ah, she's the new one I'm talking to you about. She doesn't have any experience so please be patient with her. Onegaishimasu. Please. Korishima-senshu." Seiko-sensei uttered in nervously.
"Don't worry. I'll be gentle." A playful smirk curled into his mouth, which made Louise swallow.
"Just show me what you learned from sensei, teacher, and let's see what we'll do about that. Is that alright, Miss Diaz?"
She nods sighing, calming herself. Thinking really hard about the basic lessons her sensei taught her.
And Louise remembers none...
Pursing her lips, she bulges her eyes in panic.
"Ready?" he asks.
"Yeah! Let's do this!" she responds enthusiastically.
It's one of those moments in her life when her fakeness won't work.
He shifted from smiling to a serious face again, holding his chin and looking intently at the position of her foot.
Dios! Redentor!
God, saviour!
She doesn't expect that the moment will come in her life that she would get judge by that Ojiro Korishima-ice cold judging look and Louise would not refuse to admit, that was freaking HOT. But she needs to accept her tragic fate now.
She stretches out her wobbly foot in a circular motion to start a rotation. When she changes footings while spinning slowly, she loses balance just as he catches her in his arms.
"Whoa, be careful!" Ojiro exclaims. "That was very good! Right?" he turns to the other girls.
The girls clap their hands lazily, glaring at Louise's direction.
"Oh, that was nothing. "She waves her hand dismissing him. "Yeah. Oh, please. Stop it. Those Russians should be nervous by now." She proclaims confidently. "Ojiro... sit down." she commanded, raising her hand like a star, waiving to her fans.
"That was very good, but you need to work on your balance. Come on, I'll show you."
What?! Jesus on a horse! just go and end the class already!
Ojiro is demonstrating the move to Louise when, suddenly, a skater speeds up behind her, knocking her with him on the ice.
She fell on the ice, face first, and rolled with the skater on the slippery, wet concrete.
"Louise!" Ojiro exclaims. It all happened too fast but his experience on ice makes him first to notice the clash. He immediately goes to her rescue in his fast reflex.
She props herself up, groaning.
"Are you alright? Can you hear me? Can you see me?" he exclaims, thinking of a possible concussion.
"Pinche, maldito seas..." she groans, cursing heavily in Spanish. "Damn you, fucking—"
"Oh, thank God you're alright." Ojiro breathes in relief.
He helps her stand. Even the younger skaters and her sensei approach to help.
"I'm alright; I'm not dead. Unfortunately. But yeah, I'm alright."
Her classmates give her a weird look, even Ojiro.
"What?" she asks, holding her hips in confidence.
Louise felt something wet in her nose, so she wipes it instinctively. She looks at her gloved fingers and sees a red stain of blood on the cloth.
Her eyes roll at the back of her head before she passes out at the sight of blood.
The things I do for love.
