Chapter 16.2: Prayers

She only has two beverages stored which is beer and tea so she grabs the can of alcohol for her and brews tea for him.

He sits cross legged in the table, waiting for her. While she's heating the water on the stove, Louise couldn't help but to think their dating set up.

So, what's next?

Knowing how eager he is, she knows the question will come up as soon as she hands him his tea. While her schedule is packed, he needs to focus on his training because he will be competing for Worlds and that only means, the third date is not going to be possible for them.

Is dating even possible for us?

Lousie doesn't know what will happen in the future but just the thought of her not going to see him again makes his chest tighten.

Huh, weird.

She pours the hot water into the strainer that contains the dried tea leaves. Holding the cup carefully, she goes back to him only to found him missing. She puts down the hot cup on the table and looks for him around.

Louise walks past the small spare room that she uses to hang her clothes and she needs to take a second look because there, she found him standing in front the small ofrenda, an altar decorated with marigolds and candles. He is standing in front of the picture of a woman, his hands are fold and his head bowed, uttering a prayer.

She tiptoes, leaning by the door frame and let herself watch his profile view.

And then suddenly, she's conscious how his hair hangs beautifully in his face, how his brows crease in pretty lines in a serious prayer, his jaw line's shape in a perfect, sharp curve, his perfect sized mouth with a perfect cupids bow in the upper lip and other hundred ways to steal a kiss.

"Ah," he notices her after he prayed. "Sorry, sorry," he bows repeatedly, apologizing for barging in the room.

"That's my mama. She died when I was seven. May her soul rest in peace in mundo de los muertos." She uttered in her thick accented voice, looking up into the heavens.

"She's beautiful," he said, taking a look at the picture.

The complement is not even for her but the way heat creeps up to Lousie's cheek along the fastening of the beating of her heart, she already knows she's screwed.

After they had their drinks, Ojiro gets ready to go because he needs to catch up to his sleeping schedule. Louise pulls his luggage and jacket then hands it to him.

"I will be gone for long so—"

She steals a peck on his lips cutting him off.

"Hmm...yeah, I know. I will be waiting," she crouches down to get his running shoes from the rack for him to wear.

Ojiro holds his breath, looking like he got petrified.

"What?" she asks, handing him his shoes but he swats it away and then grabs her shoulder, pulls her to him and claims her lips in a deep kiss.

She responds to the kiss, clasping his shoulders tightly.

"Does this mean you're my girlfriend now?" he murmurs, catching his breath when they break the kiss.

She nods to him, letting out a giggle.

"You're my girlfriend? My girlfriend?" he tightens his arms around her waist making her laugh.

She nods again. "Si," she uttered, looking up to his face. "I'm your girlfriend now, Ojiro Korishima."

"Yatta!" he balled his fist in the air and motions to stretch his legs. "Yay!"

"Don't you dare do a split Ojiro!" she shrieks, sounding like a growl in her accent.

He lets out a laugh and stops himself from doing it. He pulls her again to him, wrapping his arms around her, she does the same.

He bows his head and kisses her so gently.

"Will you wait for me?" He asks.

She looks back to his eyes. "Yes. I'll wait for you."
