ARTICLE TWO

Hello lovelies, and thanks for tuning in once more to your favorite gossip column by your tea-spilling idol, Sandra Diez!

Here comes another exciting update regarding one of the biggest shows on television: Date Me If You Can!

Recently, things have begun and the world has gotten their first look at this season's contestants--all of which are celebrities! How exciting it was to watch them squirm under the pressure of an interview.

The interviews revealed to the world not just who is playing the game, but they also revealed who each contestant seemed to be, in the sense of what glimpse of their personalities the questions gave us.

As I've always said, and I'll say it again, Sandra Diez is always watching lovelies. If you thought I'd make it easy in the beginning you're dead wrong. I don't do the sugar-coating, and instead prefer to get right to the point. So, the point of this article is to assess who we have competing in this season.

The interviews this season featured a variety—if you can call it that given their similarity in what responses were produced—of questions. There were ten questions to be exact, and each contestant was forced to answer however they interpreted it.

Of course there were a few bland contestants. Those who seem too vanilla to really be worth any time. Personally, I found Atticus ( thinkhappy- ) to be rather plain. I suppose he might have his own charm if he manages to find the right woman, but his stuttering is a definite turn off. He strikes me as the type to be appalled by the realities of this show, and frankly I think he's too soft to last very long. Perhaps he'll prove me wrong, but my intuition says he's not the type of person who's cut out for this. He'll be eaten alive out here if he doesn't find it in him to grow a little backbone. In my ever so humble opinion, Atticus is just too vanilla and far too sweet to be someone who will be exciting to track the progress of. It's a shame, because he's hot, too. Oh well, at least he won't be committing any injustices against his partner—he'll likely only be the victim.

Next we have Valentina—who goes by Lena ( misspanini ) She expressed openness towards the concept of being thrust into the absoluteness of publicity. She insisted that her career in social media has prepared her for an opportunity such as this. I'll certainly give her credit for having the guts to not be afraid to be entirely exposed. Lena insisted—and I quote—"I think the whole publicity aspect is actually the least scary part for me." An interesting sentiment, isn't it? Makes me wonder what it is that she is afraid of, as her words allude to something scaring her regarding this whole process. I also feel that while Lena has courage to admit she's unafraid of the limelight, I don't think she fully understands the toll this experiment takes on people. No matter how exposed she may think she is on social media, there's no hiding anything from the public in DMIYC. And there's certainly no hiding anything from me ~

But to answer my question regarding fear, Tobias ( crayola32 ) seemed more than equipped to call out his fellow contestants for what he perceived all of them to be afraid of. "I think what scares people isn't the fact that they're being constantly filmed, it's the fact that constant publicity leaves room for error, and said error or personal flaws could be made public. That is what people are scared of." I guess I didn't realize Mr. Gray spoke for everyone, now. My question is if he finds himself narcissistic enough to be the one speaking for the group, I can only imagine the headache he'll be to deal with. Though, I do wonder if this "fear" includes himself? The way he spoke of it makes you wonder if he's projecting his own fears without attempting to make it obvious? You'll have to be more clever than that, I'm afraid. After all, I know all the tricks in the book.

When discussing intentions, Ebony ( BAZCOCK ) insisted his whole reason for being here revolved around meeting new people, plain and simple. His further explanation included the admittance that, "I don't have very many friends—actually, I don't have any friends." Why is this, Ebony? Too shy? Or are you simply just a loser that none of the cool kids can stand? Last I checked, most people are here for love, the money, or both. But picking DMIYC to make friends with strangers? Trust me when I say I've heard some weird shit, but a statement like that is just sad. Out of pity, I hope you can maybe find an actual friend, Ebony. Though, I'm not certain how easy that'll be to obtain, but I won't stop you from trying. It just seems you won't be too interesting to report on with the whole friendship and rainbows and happiness mentality...

On the flipside, when asked of celebrity stunts, Catalina ( thefantagonist ) joining DMIYC was what she considered her "stunt." So is that to say she's only here to garner attention and cause a scene? To think someone would openly admit to such a thing! I pity her partner because it seems Cat's intentions aren't in the right place. Cheap and unethical was her chosen route...makes you wonder where the show finds these people. Though, at least that means she might be a constant source of drama. If the fact that her intentions being outed aren't enough to ruin the dramatics of her future actions, that is...

Of course our resident soft boy made his (second) grand debut. While his interview didn't provide much new information, he still remains adamant in his quest for love. Our softie Arshia ( princess-myrah ) is still a sucker for true love and even made a point that, as much as he yearned for whatever tenderness his romanticized version of love could bring, he refused to play dirty in order to get it. Talk about staying in character, and perhaps that's one of the reasons he was so loved last season—even if he himself never found love. Best of luck finding it this time, Arshia. Just remember, though, that not everyone plays fairly. Though perhaps more embarrassing was his flustered response to the ninth question. When asked of his position—whether it be dominant or submissive—he openly admitted he "never had the chance to find out." Everyone in the world might've guessed submissive, but now I can guarantee Arshia will be thought of as not only DMIYC's resident soft boy, but also as a secret virgin! Perhaps this season he'll grow a pair and figure out where he stands in terms of dominance, too.

Thalia ( crayola32 ) was a contestant that boldly told us how it was while managing to maintain a cool confidence and a effortless charm. Still, while some—like Arshia—might not know where they stand, Thals was confident in declaring herself to be dominant. Her exact words were, "If my paired partner can't handle letting me take the reins, then they're going to have a hard time learning that I don't take no for an answer." If there's one thing I know from a statement like that, it's that this girl is headstrong. While perhaps that trait is endearing to some, I find it a pain in the ass. If her partner isn't patient, I can't imagine the type of arguments they'll have. Though, I hope she's paired with the most hot-headed man this show has to offer. One, it'll be exciting to report on their explosive spats. Two, she'll likely lose the show, something I'd love to see after she so smugly declared that, "[I] Wouldn't be surprised if I did win, actually."

Gail ( -eunoia_ ), the resident chef of the season, tends to be known for his heated outbursts. He wasn't shy at admitting to as much, either. Though, he did seem rather anxious and flustered when answering the ninth question. Why, I think he turned as red as the fucking lamb sauce! Yet, in conclusion to his interview, he has the audacity to proclaim, "You'll eat it and you'll like it. Everything's worth trying once." Just what exactly are we eating, Gail? I mean, it seems he's implying he'll need a girl who knows how to properly handle some meat! ~

Maximiliano ( SUNSHIlINE ) didn't share much in terms of noteworthy content, but he did strike me as someone who's holding back a lot more than he lets on. As straight-forward as he seems, I feel like he'll be of some importance later, even if his introductory interview was as dense as a box of rocks. Not going to lie when I said I almost fell asleep when reviewing the footage!

Notably, Evelyn ( prittyprincess- )grand debut. Though, as "nostalgic" as she claims to be, I suspect she's learned what it takes to finally succeed in a competition like this one. She's not exactly as ditzy as she seems, and I'm glad to see she finally decided to learn about how a show like DMIYC works. If she's aiming for anything other than a trip down memory lane, the girl needs to step it up. You're nobody's princess, darling. Please learn to carry your own weight!

It would seem Esméralda ( deanswhore ) knows what she's after. While attempting to perhaps save face in claiming she's here for the right reasons, she's definitely got a thing for the money! She said so herself when she insisted that she found "money to be a lot more important in life [than love]." So watch out! It seems she might be out breaking some hearts in her quest for riches!

It would seem Bowen ( Shipping_til_death ) held similar views when asked of money! He was adamant in his stating that money provided him with all the happiness he knows today and so, frankly, he felt money was most important for one's happiness. It's not to say he'll completely disregard love, but I almost sense that he's in some sort of denial. As if he is so reserved to the concept of love that he's boldly in love with money and riches instead. Regardless, only time will tell where these gold diggers end up! Money is everything until it isn't...right?

Moving on, Olive () proved to be an interesting contestant in how she chose to answer some of the questions. When describing love, she chose to interject that love was more than just romantic or sexual. Platonic and familial love apparently play a large part in her life. A wholesome answer, perhaps, but she quickly switched her act when—in response to being asked if she had any final words for her future partner—she asserted that they shouldn't "fuck this up." Needless to say, she appears to me to be very much a wild card. I can't predict how that personality of hers is going to play out, but her partner will probably be feeling a real connection to Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold."

Ellie-Mae ( -chxmomile ) also wasn't afraid to speak her mind. While she seems like a sweet-heart, she also wasn't afraid to lay down the law of the land. Definitely a girl with a strong sense of self—and perhaps some major doses of self confidence. She was very much confident in her ability to win the show, but tried horribly to seem humble. I'm not buying it. Aside from that though, she's awfully particular and she made that evident when giving some of her answers. I think what I liked best of all was her witty roast on dirty people. I can definitely second keeping things clean—unless we're in the bedroom of course ~

A trend I've noticed this season is the presence of many strong, vibrant, confident, and charming young women. We have a powerhouse of the female race representing, and it's a great time to appreciate that. Another contestant who seemed to wow the crowd was Ramona ( crayola32 ). However, as charming as she is, she carries a lot of baggage. So much baggage that I think it'll ultimately ruin her chances of finding love on the show. She even dropped hints throughout her interview regarding looking for red flags and even using this experience to learn more about what "doesn't work" and "discovering new red flags" claiming this "wasn't [her] first rodeo." Rae is one of those celebrities who tends to keep her private life on the down low, but I—Sandra Diez—have my sources. It's no mystery that Ramona had a failed relationship with Peter Delaney. Come to find out, the two have been divorced for nearly a year now! To make things even more interesting, Peter and Ramona are in the middle of a heated custody battle regarding their son. Let's just say that whoever her partner is, there's going to be a lot of emotional upheaval. I'm not so sure she's the best equipped to be on a show like this given the current state of her affairs. I'm not judging...but I totally am.

Perhaps one of the biggest surprises so far was the unexpected return of our resident hot-head. That's right folks, Shax ( Phoberos ) is back! They really caused a ruckus last season and I can't wait to see how their anger destroys every relationship they're put in. Not to say I'm completely awful in hoping to see things crash and burn, but at least Shax has never failed to make failure entertaining! Wonder whose nose they'll break this time! As long as it's not my gorgeous face, it'll be fine ~

Another strong contestant this season appears to be Mimiko ( princess-myrah ). Mimi's answers provided some interesting insight into her intentions. She seems like the type of person to be a central focus for this season, if I had to guess. Not only have her snobby comments regarding money gone viral, but she also compared men to purses, calling them "cute, full of crap, and totally replaceable." Damn, Mimi, if you want a chance at winning the show you're going to need to not spit venom. Though, she carries herself with a sickly sweet manner, and I can't fathom who she'll end up with. Mimi also noted that in regards to her partner, she didn't much care who she was paired with! The woman had the audacity to proclaim that, "There's no man that I can't fix, and if he thinks he can resist the likes of me—oh I don't even believe that's possible." One thing is for certain: she's out for the hunt. Boys, watch your backs or you might become her next meal.

Rudolph ( Clear_Blue )—or should I say Rudy?—also found himself unknowingly providing me with content to reflect on. This rich—and remarkably hot—business man seems like he's all, well, business! Very stoic, and it's a wonder that he thinks he'll be able to win this show. Still, it is apparent that his ego is overly inflated and he views himself with a toxic superiority. "Emotions should never get in the way of what needs to be done," he says. I'm not so sure those words are comforting. It appears like Rudy will either break your heart or break your neck. And when asked of his intentions, his only response was "I believe the whole world will soon see what my intentions are...all that glitters is not gold." I'm not sure whether to find his mysterious aura attractive or if it should be perceived as a major red flag. Like, serial killer red flag. One thing is certain: he means business—whatever that may be.

Briana ( SlytherclawGirl2 ) gave a similar reply, insisting that "I can be ruthless when I need to be...it's eat or be eaten out there and you need to look our for yourself." Well at least she was honest! Still, I have a feeling that this season of DMIYC is going to shake up to be something like we've never seen before—and I'm so here for it!

Many other contestants shared their answers and a full video of all the interviews can be found not only on the official DMIYC website, but also attached on The Daily Diez blog site. I'm certain you lovelies will be dying to watch—or rewatch—every second of juicy footage.

Needless to say, this season is heating up and it's going to be hot, hot, hot!! Muy caliente!

But, I'm ready for every second of it! These contestants show promise, and at the very least, they're proving to be excellent sources of gossip and speculation. Now we wait and see who makes it, who doesn't, who comes out heartbroken, and who comes out victorious...

Stay tuned for further developments, darlings! For now, this is Sandra Diez signing off ~

Ciao xoxo ~
