24 - the one where they flirt
Taara was walking to her bike when she felt a hand over her mouth from behind and another covering her eyes. Panic set in. She propelled her elbow backwards and luckily hit the person in the ribs.
"Woah. Calm down it's me." Aayush spoke stepping away from her. She turned sharply glaring at the person. Gradually realization made way. It was Aayush.
"What the hell do you think you were doing? You scared me." Taara heaved placing a hand on her chest.
He smiled, "Just seeing if that white belt was true or false." Taara stared at him as he rubbed his ribs where she had hit him.
She folded her arms cocking up a brow with a smirk on her face. "So what did you find?"
"Definitely, true. That actually hurt." He spoke still rubbing his hand over the side of his lower abdomen.
She stepped forward watching his face. "Sorry, guess it hurt bad. But you're at fault."
"Yes. I know. I have heard kisses heal." He looked at her with playfulness in his voice. Taara could forever drown in those twinkling eyes.
She stepped closer. "But I have heard blows make you stronger. Want to try another?"
Aayush's smirk faded. "No, thank you, I have had my lesson for today."
Taara giggled. "I thought you guys had to talk business."
"But your dad clearly likes me so much that he wants me to spend time with you instead of in business meetings." he winked.
Taara smiled stupidly. "Hope my mom likes you too. Otherwise.."
"Otherwise?" He questioned arching his eyebrows.
"You'll have to forget me." She answered carelessly.
"Impossible." He said rolling his eyes. She fell silent looking at him. His gaze swiped back to meet her eyes. He smiled, tilting his head slightly, " I mean it."
She smiled, "so, do you plan to spend time here?" She changed the topic folding her hands.
"Well, I think— a coffee date should be good?"
"Okies. We can discuss ways to impress my mother."
He sighed, putting an arm around her shoulder as they walked."Is she really scary? Cause if your dad is scared of her. Well, then she must be something."
Taara looked at him through the corner of her eyes. He was close, just one kiss away. Pushing her desirous thoughts to the background she smiled at him. "Why? You're scared? Wow, The Aayush Vikrant Rathore is scared of his girlfriend's mother Miss Manisha Jaisingh! That should be breaking news."
"Can you stop that. Wait and watch how I get in her good books. If I can charm you, I am sure I can charm her."
Taara nudged him. "Let's get going." she walked ahead getting out of his hold. Damn, having him close made her mind go in weird places. Places that were not entire innocent.
"I was wondering if you could give me a lift."
Taara smiled turning around to him. "What about your car?"
"I will have the driver pick it up." He answered smiling.
"I don't have a spare helmet." She lied, teasing him. She could already imagine how it would be to have him sit on the backseat when she rode. Messed up mind functionality, but the offer was tempting.
"Then let's go in my car. It's Mercedes this time." He winked making her laugh.
"Not a fan. Come on I have a spare." She spoke walking ahead.
He smiled following her. "You can ride with a passenger, right?"
"Yes, but with me it is a little risky I have been told." She smiled handing him the helmet.
"What have I done to you? Why are you being rude to me today? First the punch and now this.." He spoke as she got on the bike while he wore the helmet, securely fastening the strap.
"What have you done? You made me lie to my mother. Now she's upset and I hate it when she doesn't talk to me properly."
"Don't worry... I am going to make up for it." He said as he sat behind her. "By the way, lying was your stupid idea."
"Stop fighting with me." She argued starting her bike.
"Sweetheart, we are not fighting. You are arguing while I am stating facts."
"Who made you my boyfriend?" She muttered annoyed.
"You did." He whispered leaning over her shoulder placing his hands behind. They itched to rest on her waist. But he didn't want to freak her out or make her nervous. Especially when she was riding the bike.
Aayush didn't know when he had laughed so heartily, having the wind blow against his face. He indeed had been missing out on a lot in life. He laughed when she tried scaring him. He laughed when she cursed another driver. He laughed at her constant commentary on traffic lights and how they all knew it was her and turned red. It was hard to not like her. Still harder to not fall for her.
Once she parked the bike outside the cafe, she looked at him. He got off running a hand through his hair after removing the helmet. He caught her smiling at him. He was glad that he had decided to get rid of his coat and waistcoat before their ride. It felt so much better. He felt so much lighter. Perhaps the lightness he felt was the reason he was immensely and easily attracted to her at the moment.
"Like what you see huh?" He leaned whispering over her face.
"Totally." She winked.
"Wow. Progress I see." He remarked with surprise.
Taara loved how husky his voice sounded. At times she had no clue where the bolder version of her emerged from. "Let's get you that coffee you needed." She grinned getting off. He stared at her enraptured as she shook her head letting her hair free after removing the helmet.
"Like what you see?" She winked, as she fixed the helmet to the hook.
He bit his lower lip amused. "I love what I see."
Taar blushed straightening up . As they walked towards the entrance of the cafe she felt his hand hold hers. She smiled giving his hand a squeeze. What was this warm feeling engulfing her? Every time she was with him, it was like she was living in a fairytale.
Taara was left stumped when he didn't let her order brownie with icecream. She glared at him once the waiter left. "Care to explain?"
"Didn't you say you need to knockdown a few inches? Your friend's wedding?"
"It's a month away." She whined.
"You can't diet a day before and magically shrink, can you?"
"Are you implying I am fat?" She frowned.
He smiled, his arms stretched hung oht and his hands moved to her face, pulling her cheeks. "You're cute."
She pushed his hand away. "Don't change the topic,Mister."
To save Aayush, the waiter appeared in time with a cup of coffee for him and green tea for her. "Thank you!" Aayush spoke.
"God, this dieting is so hard and I don't honestly think it works."
"Taara, they key to changing anything in life is willpower. You can go for jogging or gym or yoga. That with dieting will give you excellent results." He spoke sipping his coffee. He had never imagined himself saying that to a woman. But then, there was so much he hadn't imagined of doing and being. However with her he was different. The kind of different he liked.
"Wow, so you're a part time dietitian and motivator?" She mocked sipping her green tea.
"Well, you could say the latter. I have given a fair share of motivating guest lectures in college."
"Really?" She asked surprised.
"Yep. On business management and administration, on leadership and so on.."he answered, after taking a sip from his cup. He reached for the tissue wiping his mouth.
That paved way for a conversation about their college days. Slowly, Taara found herself admiring everything about him. The more she knew about him. The more she liked him.
Aayush had never thought he could talk to someone so much. He had always been a less of a talker. But with her things were different. He could talk about anything and everything. He was falling hard for her with every minute he spent with her.
It was strange how time passed so quickly when they were together. On the contrary it seemed to crawl like a snail when they were away from each other. Twisted Time!
