Bonus Chapter
"What's going on out there?" It was a slow day inside the building, which was a surprised many. Lila had noticed people bustling around outside and yelling at each other.
Hisoka smiled at Lila's question, leaning against the wall where he was sitting. He swirled the drink in hand before taking a sip. "It's a festival, darling."
"Like dancing and music?" Lila had always enjoyed those festivals when they still occurred with her people. She hardly remembers the last one since groups had gone their separate ways and they entered hiding.
"They have that. As well as games, food, and gifts." He was amused as he watched Lila became more and more amazed by the festival. "Would you like to go with me tonight?"
Lila eagerly nodded her head, sitting up straighter with excitement. "Outside my window,"
Hisoka nodded with agreement, eyes following Lila as she pecked his cheek before running off without another word.

Lila hugged his arm tightly as they walked towards the celebration. Music and chatter grew louder and Lila slowed her pace until she was holding Hisoka back.
"Don't worry darling," he assured her, rubbing her cheek with a thumb. "No one will notice." He wrapped his arm around her, escorting her towards the festival.
Lila marveled at everything that she could, stopping at every tent to try something or attempting every game she could.
Missing the ball in a woven basket, Lila turned to smile at Hisoka only to be met by his own smile. "What?"
He shook his head, wrapping an arm around her and leading her away from the game. "You just seem so innocent." He turned to press his face into hers. "I've never seen you this excited before. Even if you lost the game."
Lila couldn't help but chuckle. She hadn't won any of the games, and at the food tents she would make Hisoka order what she wanted. Lila would shyly hide her face in his arm, or pretend to be interested in something else.
Her eyes locked on a figurine and Lila tugged Hisoka towards the tent. Without a word to him, she had released him and knelt down in front of the figure. Two figures embracing each other could be made out, but that was all Lila could tell.
"It's purposely made it like that," a shaking voice grabbed Lila's attention. She glanced up to see a wrinkly woman sitting on a stool behind the table that held all the creations. "It could be two friends, sisters, mother and daughter, mother and son, lovers, whatever you desire it to be."
Lila smiled at it, resting her chin on her flattened hands as she continued to marvel at it. "What do you-" Lila looked behind her for Hisoka, only to see him missing. "Think." Her voice trailed off. She pushed herself away from the table and to her feet, scanning for the man that had left her side.
A pit grew in her stomach as she searched for Hisoka, slowly walking away from the tent. Lila's breathe quickened and her palms were becoming sweaty the longer she went without Hisoka. She began to worry that someone would take her, and she would never see anyone again.
"Miss, are you alright?"
The voice was distant and instead of acknowledging them, Lila lowered her head. She searched for the nearest alleyway to calm herself down before planning her next move. There had to be one nearby.
"Lila," Lila jumped out of her skin at the nails prickling against her bare skin. She swiftly turned around, before latching herself onto the person. "Darling?"
Lila didn't say anything as she buried her face into his chest. She tightened her grip when she felt arms wrap around her. "Let's get you somewhere quiet."
Lila nodded her head in agreement, allowing Hisoka to adjust her placement before leading her away. Her arms remained wrapped around him and her head remained against him.
Wherever Hisoka had lead them, it was practically deserted. Lila had wondered if this was because of the festival.
"I had fun." Lila eventually broke the silence with her quiet statement. "I'm glad I went with you."
Hisoka hummed an acknowledgement, gently rubbing Lila's arm as they continued to stroll down the street. "I was hoping to show you where the dancing was."
"I can do dancing whenever I please," Lila told him attempting to let go of him. Hisoka had tightened his grip around her, keeping Lila where she was. "I can't play games or eat whatever those tents had at the celebrations I've been to."
Hearing that, it made Hisoka feel better about bringing her. It took away the little guilt he had about stepping away briefly without telling her.
The pair stopped walking, Hisoka watching as Lila stood in front of him. Their hands were entangled with one another, distance closed between the two. Without hesitation, Lila tugged on his arms, jerking him forward before wrapping an arm around his neck and forcing their lips together.

Lila groaned at the sudden light streaming in her room. She rolled over in her bed, frowning when she didn't see Hisoka beside her. She remembered him bringing her back to the building, and the heated kisses exchanged within the room.
Sighing, Lila sat up in bed before rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. A knock on the door disrupted all pleasant thoughts of the previous night, and Nana's voice ruined any pleasant aftermath of dreams Lila may or may not have had.
She glanced to the bedside table, freezing up a bit at the items that were placed there.
"Lila, you hear me?"
"Y-yeah," Lila stuttered while her eyes remained trained on the items. "I'll be out in a minute." Nana's footsteps grew distant. A smile grew on Lila's face as she grabbed a piece of paper that rested on the table.
A simple, messy heart was drawn on the paper. A simple note, but Lila couldn't help but smile as she ran her thumb across the paper. She glanced to the other item, the figurine she had marveled at while she was at the festival.
"Lovers," she mumbled with a smile growing on her face as she uttered the words. She tried again, trying to not smile, but it came back at the end of the utterance.
