"Very impressive" she said.

"what did I do?" he flashed her a charming grin.

"I don't know how you did it" she started "but you covered everything, courage, cares about his sister. defending the vulnerable, standing up to bullies, making sure everyone does the right thing, and a little demonstration of power and intelligence at the end as well. Did you pay those guys? Or are you really just that perfect?"

"Do I know you?" he asked.

Clearsight laughed although she was trying really hard not to. he looked so wounded and mischievous at the same time.

" I met you on that fishing trip last month right? Oh wait no your on the queens council of elder aren't you?"

"No you goober" She said wrinkling her snout out him.

"Hey! you're the one taking all the romance out of this." Darkstalker said. "It's supposed to go like this, 'that was so brave and amazing what you did for your sister' 'no,no it's what any dragon would do' 'no you're... special. I can tell can't you?' 'no not as special as you. theres something about you that no one else has' 'why do I feel as if I have been waiting for you my whole life and not even known it until now? Like I've known you forever?' and then boom fireworks and we fall in love. True love and happiness for the rest of our lives!"

"You didn't prepare actual fireworks did you?" she asked.

"N-nooooo" he said as if he were trying to hide something "Not if you hate them..."

she squinted and said "hmm... I see terrible fire tearing throught he school gardens"

"what really? when?" He said sounding panicked, and Clearsight giggled. "Wait your just messing with me!" 

"Has any one ever told you that you're a terrible seer? and that whole fluttery, drippy conversation sounded nothing like me!"

"Well that's a relief!" He said his grin growing even bigger. "But could you at least try to make this a bit more romantic? after all its not every day that you met your soulmate. Only once infact that one time is right now."

Now Clearsight thought. It's happening right now. It's the beginning of everything I dreaded, everything I couldn't wait for... what was this feeling in her chest? love, joy, terror? she wanted to wrap her wings around him and never let go. she also wanted to set him on fire for the futures sake. It wont kill you to try. she thought and then shivered in one future it did...

She wanted to stay in the present right here. She wanted to keep having this conversation in the shining moonlight where there weren't visions of screaming dragons and betrayal and heartbreak. She wanted to stay here in the joy of falling in love. 

She'd seen what might happen but she didn't realize what it would feel like to be here right now with Darkstalker.

Suddenly he leaned forward and took her front talons in his. "Don't worry about the future. just be here in this moment, with me falling in love. the happiest we've ever been." He whispered intently. Clearsight wanted to, she would have, but when their claws touched she plummeted into a hurricane of visions. 

Darkstalker, older, in a twisted crown, killing dragons from across the room with a flick of his claw.

Darkstalker. Close to the age he was now holding out a scroll to her with a hopeful smile.

a seawing screaming in pain.

Her and Darkstalker older again, wrestling with their dragonets in a noisy cliff house of there own.

Darkstalker collapsing infront of her as thunder rumbled.

Icewing blood everywhere

Sunset over a vally as she walked on her  ancient, creaky talons to wrest beside him at peace.

Opening the royal treasure room to bestow gifts on their grandchildren.

Five nightwings writhing before the throne, screaming as they clawed out there own eyes.

Betrayal woven into copper wires

A trip to the sea

A green dragon in tears.

She finally spiraled back into reality and blinked several times, back in the present. where nothing of what she'd see had happened yet. "Are you all right?" Darkstalker asked gently not in the dark and twisted voice she had heard in her visions. 

"Did you see any of that?" She asked him gently pulling her talons away.

 "I will never invade your thoughts. I promise."

"Thankyou" she smiled. In some futures that was true. 

"It's not that bad is it? Our future" Darkstalker asked

"It depends how much you like insane dragons killing everyone... so of it was good though.." 

he laughed which confirmed that at least for now he was staying out of her head because she hadn't been joking. And with an even more charming grin he said, "I'm Darkstalker by the way"

"Oh I'm Tailbite. You weren't expecting someone else were you?" he laughed and laughed and laughed. and in that sunlight of his laugh, she could almost stay in the present - in the moment of soulmates meeting, where she was falling in love. she could almost forget all the violence and betrayal, the lies, the danger and the blood spills yet to come. It almost made her believe that all of those bad future would never come true that her and Darkstalker would live a peaceful life...

A/N: Ok if you are one of those people who have read chapter 2 before this was published then go back and re-read it because I have edited it and made it longer so go befree and re-read chapter 2.
