chapter 2
Clearsight
Clearsight landed on the other side of the school. Just like in her visions he wasn't there. She sighed and headed off towards the main office on fast moving talons.
Before she knew it she was presenting her pappers to Truthfinder to prove that she was advanced enough to go to school with the other three year old dragonets. "Are you sure you don't want to be with the fours?" Truthfinder asked. Clearsight shuddered remembering that that was where he was, with the fourth years.
Truthfinder handed Clearsight her timetable and sent her on her way
Casting her a suspicious look as she went out the door. Muttering something like "paranoid dragonet".
The third years class room was at the end of the hall. It was slightly larger then the other class rooms complete with art works along one of the side walls. Staions were set up troughout the room and a hand full of dragonets wanded lazily between them carrying notebooks and worksheeks with their names on them. In the back corner there was a small terrarium with to scavangers in it making strange squeaking noises and odd gestures with their hands while they shared a mango. The teacher walked up to Clearsight a warm smile plastered on her face and a dragonet shuffling behind her slightly larger then the others with tear drop scales shining in the corners of her eyes
"Hi... um Clearsight is it? This is Listener she'll show you around the school for today or until you know where to go... come on Listener say hello!" The teacher said pushing Listener in front of her so that she was facing Clearsight the teardrop scales in the corners of her eyes catching the torch light. Great a mind reader. Just what i need. Listener's wings dropped a little and she looked down at her talons. "Oh! I'm sorry it's just my head it's filled with all these terrible visions and I-" "it's alright" Listener said. "I'm staying out of your mind! When you walked in you started categorizing everyone into 'safe to be friends with' and 'the world is doomed if I'm friends with them!".
"Thank you" Clearsight said and dipped her head in, still looking at Listener. "So who's this Darkstalker? He's plasted all over your brain like some kind of disease" she asked "oh know one speacial" Clearsight said "just my soul mate..."
" well then your soulmate sure does have a creepy name!"she said then clearsight laughed. "His father is an icewing isn't he?" Listener asked almost spiting out the word icewing and Clearsight nodded faintly distracted by a vision that was unfolding in her mind.
"No!" Listener hissed "no visions about me!"
"I can't help it!" Clearsight protested shoting Listener a meaningful look. "Just stay out of my mind and you'll be alright!"
"Ok ok" she said making calming motions with her talons and looking slightly distressed.
"when do we sit down and learn?" Clearsight asked making sure it didn't sound like she couldn't wait for her education to begin. Her new friend laughed. "It doesn't work that way. instead you just move between the stations and work on whatever you want, after awhile we come together and discus what we've learnt and then we go outside for a bit to you know, hunt and stuff like that."
oh, Clearsight thought. That means I could work on my time line scrolls. Wait- nope. There was a very awkward trip to Truthfinders office with her parents in that future. So instead she decided to stick with what the other dragonets were doing. She tried her best to act normal despite the fact that her heart was pounding harder and harder in her chest as the minutes ticked by.
The morning carried out in a nervous flutter for Clearsight as she made her way between the stations completing worksheets and staring at the strange pair of scavengers in their little terrarium in the back corner of the room. As they continued chating and sharing fruit as if the dragons weren't even there. Clearsight found herself wishing the morning was longer because the time for their trip outside came creeping up on her before she even realised it, and her meeting with her soulmate came creeping closer and closer all to quickly for Clearsights liking.
Clearsight made her way out of the classroom with Listener at her side trying not to think about how close she was to meeting Darkstalker.
"Hey watch where your going Weirdout!" Clearsight heard someone scoff. She turned towards the voices and discovered that whiteout, Darstalkers sister had walked through a group of dragonets marble game and sent the marbles scattering everywhere.
"Aw she didn't mean it did you Whiteout?" Clearsight froze. Darkstalker was suddenly standing beside his sister a charming grin spread upon his face. "Hmm wha?"
"Do you want to say sorry? You acidently nocked these dragons marbles with your tail" Darkstalker said calmly.
"Oh right. Yes that. I'm sorry i didn't see your game there..." Whiteout apologised
"That's all right" one of the dragonets said a little to reluctantly for Clearsight's liking, "yeah" said the other two "sorry."
"don't worry about it" said Darkstalker with a smile. "she was cheating, and all he can think about is his crush on her sister, and this one just wishes he knew someone interesting." he said and pointed at each of them in turn. "Now please do enjoy your marbles friends..." Darkstalker turned and escorted whiteout away laughing slightly as the three dragons glared at each other.
As Darkstalker was passing Clearsight she stepped out into his path with her eyebrows raised. whiteout swerved around her and kept going, but he stopped with a wonderfull expression of delight and anxiety spread across his face...
