History

The Timeline is setted in four years period, until Year Five becames a game changer in the war between Superman Regime and Batman and his remaining allies

Year Zero features the Joker using an evil mystical amulet to possess and hurt members of the Justice Society. Superman is possessed but frees himself after Batman gets through to him. The Joker takes this as a challenge to corrupt Superman, leading to the events of Lois' death.

Year One features the Insurgency led by Batman against the Justice League led by Superman.

Year Two features Superman's fight against the Green Lantern Corps and Harley Quinn joins the Insurgency.

Year Three introduces magic users such as John Constantine, the Spectre, Deadman, Zatanna and Doctor Fate, who aid the Insurgency, although it is revealed at the end of Year Three that Constantine was fighting for his own selfish reasons.

Year Four introduces the Greek Gods, revealing Ares' scheme to empower himself through escalating the conflict between the Regime and the Insurgency into a war by involving his fellow gods alongside enlisting the aid of Darkseid. This leads to a confrontation between Zeus and Highfather during which the latter convinces Zeus to stop being manipulated by Ares' scheme after which the gods leave, with Zeus decreeing that they shall never return to Earth.

YEAR FIVE

Year Five is a turning point in a war for Batman and his allies. How can that be? The Reason is that they got a new ally in form of Red Hood.

Y/N Todd, also known as former 2nd Robin, got better, now murderous vigilante Red Hood stayed mostly away from the war, not joining either side of the war fully.

Why would he join his mentors side if Batman isnt fond of killing for last 5 years?

When he rescued couple of civilians taken hostage, they asked on which side he was on and he told them:

"On the one hand, the Regime's right. Scumbag murderers and rapists deserve to die. But on the other hand, I'm no fan of government authority. Especially the dictatorial variety.
So while the world's finest fight each other, I fight for the people. The weak. The innocent. Anyone who can't protect themselves. When they cry out for a savior, I'll answer. As for the criminals that threaten them? They need to know that their actions have consequences. That the Red Hood is coming for them."

After 5 years of begin mostly alone, Y/N decided to return to his "father" because he is only family member left. If you think that deaths of Dick, Tim, Alfred and many more didn't brake, you would be right, but no. Maybe he looks fine physicaly, but mentaly, that's on another level.

He joined and promise Batman he won't kill anyone, but that was a lie. When they capture Superman, he will put an kryptonian bullet through his head without hesitation. He took him his chance of killing the joker himself, even thought Superman and Batman are saying Joker was insane, they are both wrong. So Y/N told this to Bruce:

"... But I knew a secret. A very, very good one... He wasn't as crazy as he wanted you to believe he was. He was playing with you all this time."

Even with his help, they need more strenght. So Red Hood and Batman, a small handful of the remaining Insurgents and Lex Luthor to establish a link to the Prime Universe Justice League and call them for help.
