9 - Genocidal Thoughts

It was then that both of them started getting bored.  That made me more nervous.  Those two were never bored; at least, not while they were alive and together.  Even when Asriel wasn't around, Chara always had someone to talk to:  me.  Every night after Asriel went to bed was when we had the most time to chat.  We'd talk until Chara finally got tired and fell asleep, and I would wait next to them until the next morning.

We talked about all kinds of things.

They told me about things on the surface:  stars, the moon, the sun, clouds, the sky, seasons... it all sounded so beautiful.  Whenever they talked to me about it, I'd always paint a picture in my mind about how I thought it would look like.  I'd pretend I was there, running through the grass, chasing after birds and butterflies and bunnies, feeling the wind in my fur, smelling the flowers, actually being alive...

It felt wonderful.

It got even better every time.

Sometimes I'd imagine Chara was there with me.  We'd always sit together and talk about things.  We'd compare and contrast the surface and the underground.  We'd compare and contrast our lives.  We'd tell each other stories.  Countless stories.

I liked it when Chara told me stories, even if I was just imagining them doing so.

Then again, maybe they really were doing it in real life as well, but I didn't realize because I was too busy imagining being with them on the surface.

Oh well.

... I'm just going on a tangent.

Anyways, Chara and Asriel being bored concerned me.  Because when people are bored, they have a tendency to do bad things.

As I studied Chara, I began to notice something different about them.  I could tell they felt empty inside for some reason.

That's when things started getting worse.

I remembered when THEY attacked them... could that be why they felt so empty?  It must be.  THEY turned me into a freak, so maybe THEY made Chara soulless...?

I had heard about people being soulless, but I had never encountered a soulless person until now.  It was almost scary.  Or am I just being a wimp again?

"...are you both okay?" I asked, concerned.

"...I think so...?" Chara said, sounding unsure.  I gave them a concerned look.

Asriel then got an idea.  "What if we have some fun for once?"

"Whatcha mean?" Chara asked, confused.  I hesitated.  I knew exactly what Asriel meant.

"I meeean...why don't we do a little genocide?~" Asriel suggested.

My ears went back.  "...maybe that's not a good idea-"

... Chara agreed with Flowey.

Something inside me shattered.

Chara was too innocent to accept something so dark... at least... they were before...

Now, they were just smirking at the idea of genocide.  Something was definitely wrong.

"C'mon, Azzie, Askush.~" they said.

I whimpered.  Asriel hesitated.

"Wait...I can't go by my real name anymore...people would get too suspicious of me..."

Chara hesitated.  "You're right.  Hmm..."

"... Flowey?" he suggested.

I stared at him with an annoyed face.  "Are you serious..."

"...it will have to do..." Chara muttered.  "But did you SERIOUSLY take on dad's bad naming skill..."

Flowey sweated nervously.  "....yyyeeeessssss?"

Chara facepalmed.

I just sighed.  "Well, I can't think of anything better, so I'm pretty much useless..." I muttered.

"...hey, you're not useless, Askush..." Chara said gently.

"But-"

"No buts."

I froze as they hugged me.  I hesitantly hugged back, hiding a small blush.  I didn't notice, but Chara must've been hiding one as well, because the next thing I remember was Flowey smirking.

"Ooooohhhhh...~

Chara death glared him.  "Don't you dare-"

"I think there's more than one type of love in the air...~"

"NO, THERE'S NOT."

Flowey smirked.  "Yes there is!~"

"NOOOOO!"

I was starting to get annoyed.  "DON'T YOU ****ING DARE KEEP SAYING THAT OR I WILL RIP YOU APART PETAL BY PETAL." I shouted, my black and white eye getting uncovered.

Flowey cringed away nervously.  "G-g-g-got it..."

I calmed down a little and covered my eye back up. "S-sorry...that happens sometimes..."

"It's fine, Askush."  Chara said.

I just looked away from embarrassment, but Chara just hugged me again.  I hugged back, cuddling slightly.

They must've hid a blush again, because Flowey smirked again.

Chara glared.

Flowey laughed maniacally.  "Whaaaaaaat?~"

"FLOWEY, NO." Chara groaned.

"C'mooon, that's a wonderful idea!~" Flowey said.

My tail whipped back and forth from annoyance.

Chara just rolled their eyes.  "Let's just do this genocide." they muttered.

Flowey nodded.  I hesitated.  "...I still don't think it's a good idea...."

"Why not?"

"Because...killing people is wrong...it's what THEY do..."

They hesitated.  "...I know...but it's payback for THEIR crimes." they said simply.

"..well...if you look at it that way..."

Chara waited for my answer.

"... fine."
