"N-no...please, no..." I whimpered, shaking.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Chara's voice.  "Are you okay?"

I looked at them.  "I...I-I really don't want to talk about it..."

"..okay then?" 

I nodded and noticed I was on the floor.  I got up, but cringed away as Asriel started waking up.

"...Chara..?  Who are you talking to..."

Chara hesitated and looked over.  He can't see them... so Askush was right... they thought.  "Uh... ...no one." they said.

"But I heard-"

"Nothing."

"...if you say so."

I looked at Asriel nervously and sadly, wishing I could be seen.

"Really Azzie, it's nothing... just thinking out loud." Chara said.

"...if you say so." Asriel repeated.  "So..what do you want to do?"

"Drawing sounds fun."

"Okay then!  I'll go get the crayons and paper!"

He ran off.  Chara looked back at me as I looked away shyly.

"What?" they asked.

"Nothing... I'm just not used to people..." I said nervously.

"Heh, that's fine.  I understand." 

"What do you mean?"

"People can be incredibly mean, so it makes sense that you're not used to them, since it's easier to avoid than chat."

"...yeah.  I mostly stayed away from other people when I was alive...so I didn't really have any friends..."

"Oh... sorry..."

"It's fine... it's my own fault for being such a wimp."

".. heh.  It's society's fault for that problem.  Sure, I don't really know how things work down here yet, but still,  at least for me I had to deal with human society, which is way horrible...besides, you don't seem like a wimp, just shy."

"Heh... I mean, from what I've seen when I was dead everyone seems so nice to each other..." I muttered, my tail swishing slowly.

The sharp tip caught Chara's attention.

"How's your tail sharp?"

I hesitated.  "I guess it's just a side affect of my death..?  I dunno."

"Oh.  Well, still kinda cool."

"Thanks."

"No problem."

I smiled slightly.

Chara then got an idea.

"Say... wanna be friends, Askush?"

I perked up.  "Really?"

"Yeah!"

"Sure..!"

"Cool!"

I smiled more.

And that was just the beginning of our new friendship... my first friendship.

Little did I know it wouldn't last long...
