XLIII

"One day, you will learn to love somebody the way I love you."

Without hesitation or a doubt, Elara pondered the presence of not just Han Solo but her two children as well. If she felt their presence, Kylo most likely had  as well. This meant she would have to be the first one to find them, be the first to remind them who really loved them more. In all odds, Elara would always pick her children over Kylo but she was torn between her children and Ben...

"General Jane." A stormstopper interrupted her thoughts as she roamed the hallways in search of Bellamy and Jude.

"Evening." She coughed uncomfortably.

"It's okay." The trooper whispered. "It's Celestia."

A heavy breath escaped her lips. "Thank goodness!" She brought Celestia into her arms. "Where is Remi?"

Celestia took off her helmet, revealing her stunning features and long blonde hair. "She's preparing an escape ship for us."

Elara's face twisted. "I cannot leave with you."

"What?" Celestia gaped. "Why not?"

"My children are sneaking around amongst us and I have to get them to safety before I can leave with you." Elara tucked her hood over her auburn hair cascading down her back. "If I am not on the ship in two hours, leave to the Resistance."

"Elara-"

"I am general and I do command that this is my final order!"

Celestia nodded, wrapping an arm around Elara once more. "May the force be with you."

Elara smiled. "And with you Celestia, be careful."

"Same with you." And she took off down the hall, breaking all chains that held her from being who she wanted to be.

Elara grasped her lightsaber, weighing the elegant weapon in her hand before tucking it back in her sleeve, in case she needed it. She started jogging around Starkiller base, desperately looking for Bellamy and Jude, as well as thinking out her next move.

"Right." She muttered to herself, fighting to remember what Anakin had showed her.

The girl will stay alive for as long as I live.

What could that possibly mean? She felt as if she was being drowned by a river of time. The future had been set in stone, meaning that no matter what Elara did now, the untold future will happen.

We can't tell you the future but we could show you the key events in the past that will lead up to a point in the future.

As much as Elara missed her dear friend Vega, she was angered that she couldn't be more specific. Elara had been shown key events in both the future and the present but none of them seemed to be of any use. Watching Ben Solo be so intrigued by Darth Vader wasn't something that Elara was surprised about, she already knew that Ben wanted to be powerful like his grandfather. She watched in pain as Han and Leia put all their love into Ben and she watched as Snoke drained every last bit of love from Ben, making him Kylo Ren.

She wasn't sure what terrified her the most, the unknown future, the prophecy or her family.

She shook her head, she would not give in to negative thoughts or thinkings.

The unknown future would have to wait, she was living the present and the present called for her to find her children. Her next priority would be saving Kylo and then escaping. She couldn't be dark anymore, it wasn't in her blood.

Bellamy and Jude followed in silence as Han, Finn and Chewbacca rounded a corner. Han silenced them by putting a finger to his lips. This was so exciting for Jude but Bellamy just wanted to find her mother, it was her goal, her mission.

"Alright kid, this is your one shot." Han whispered as they found Captain Phasma walking down a corridor. "If you mess up, an entire planet dies."

Finn shook his head, swiping his tongue over his lips. "I got this."

Bellamy and Jude watched as Finn, Han and Chewbacca jumped Phasma, dragging her into the control room for the deflector shields. Han knelt down beside his grandkids, "Can you two be our lookouts?"

Jude nodded eagerly. "Yes sir!"

Bellamy shrugged, looking down at her brown boots. "If it gets the job done."

"That's my girl." Han had done something he wasn't sure he'd ever do again, he leant down and kissed someone in his family's forehead. "If anyone tries to mess with your sis, kick their-"

"Solo! She won't budge!" Finn called from inside the control room.

Han grunted and rolled his eyes, leaving the twins to watch guard. To their own fortune, they both felt the strong presence of their mother growing stronger and stronger with every second. Eventually, Elara was bolting down the hallway, running towards her children.

She stopped midway to slow down, feeling both joyful and impressed that Bellamy and Jude were well and safe.

She hugged both of them, kissing their heads and cheeks over and over again. Elara was scared she would start crying but she didn't, though it was an overwhelming feeling.

"We have to go."

"We can't." Bellamy objected. "Grandfather is saving the Resistance."

"And taking Phasma prisoner."

Elara looked up, watching the control room open and Han, Finn and Chewbacca walk out. It was an unusual greeting, Han had brought Elara into his arms and she hugged him like she would her own father. The last time Elara had seen Han was the night of the Senators Banquet almost nine years ago. They didn't say anything, no 'I missed you' or 'you grew up', that would have to wait.

"Ben, he knows you're here." Elara breathed.

"It's refreshing to hear someone call him by his rightful name."

Elara agreed, peering around Han. "Where's Phasma?"

Finn grinned. "The garbage chute."

"Classy." Elara stuck out her lip slightly, her eyebrows raising. "What now?"

"We find Rey." Finn spoke on behalf of all of them.

Han pressed his gun tip against Finn's shoulder, trying to get his attention.

"What?"

"She's right there." Bellamy pointed out, watching Rey from afar.

"Seems to me like she doesn't need finding."

I see your thoughts girl! Snoke's voice frightened her. I see how you want to save your precious Ben Solo, I see how you lied about joining the dark side just to get to him and I see his thoughts too Elara Jane. Kylo Ren is being torn by the light side but I have commanded him to do something that will kill every last bit of the Ben Solo you have known to love. Ben Solo will finally die!

Elara stumbled back, catching herself before she fell. "Get out of my head!" She seethed, grabbing a fistful of her hair.

Han glanced worriedly at her. "Elara?"

"Snoke is trying to get to me." She curled her toes and bit her cheek. "The Resistance will not be intimidated by your lies!"

Snoke's cold and deep voice returned. I have seen the future! You will not win!

Elara shook her head, her body finally giving out. "That's impossible!"
