Nightmare Logic

Ariel, Faith and I were about to leave on another hunt for Michael's monsters, stopping in the war room when we saw that Sam and Dean were with a group of survivors from the Apocalypse World.

Sam was talking. "And details matter. I know homework sucks, but get it down, all of it. The more we know, the better we are, so..." He saw me, Ariel and Faith. "Uh, everybody good? Any questions? Okay, let's get to work."

Everyone dispersed.

"You kids have fun out there," Dean told them.

"Don't even say it," Sam told him.

"What?" Dean asked. "No, it's good. It's got, like a very camp-counselor vibe to it. Just need to get you a whistle."

Ariel, Faith and I walked toward them. The phone kept chiming.

"What is that?" Ariel asked.

"It's nothing," I told them. "It's just... hunter check ins."

"Check ins?" Faith repeated.

"Yeah," I answered.

Dean smirked. "That's adorable."

Sam looked at Ariel, Faith and me. "Let me guess. You three are gonna go on another monster hunt."

Ariel shrugged. "We have the best advantage against these kinds of monsters, who are so much stronger than actual monsters, the ones that Michael makes, since we're the strongest, and we can kill them a lot easier than you guys can."

Sam sighed. "Ariel, Faith, what did you, me and Ava talk about you two slowing down?"

"We did slow down, Dad," Faith told him. "If we didn't slow down, Ariel and I would have already zapped us and Mom to the location of the monsters, killed them all, and been back here before you guys left for whatever job you guys have in mind for the day."

"Faith's got a point, man," Dean told him.

"Didn't ask you," Sam replied.

We smirked.

Dean looked at Ariel and Faith. "We know Ava doesn't sleep because of the Angel thing, but have you two got any rest lately, like at all? I mean, look, guys, I know things are crazy right now, okay? I mean, hell, I just went toe-to-toe with my own personal horror movie icon, but we all need our beauty sleep."

"Uncle Dean, we have 16 hunters on cases right now," Ariel told him. "That's not counting Jack, Kai and Cas in Sarasota, or Grandma and Bobby working that Rougarou in Texas."

"Okay, you know that these people survived a war just like you two did, right?" Dean asked.

"Yeah, but a war isn't hunting," Faith answered. "These people need, uh, lore and weapons and tips and backup, and... look, don't worry about us, okay? We're good."

"It's okay," I told them. "I'll go with them. We'll all be fine." Sam sighed, nodding in agreement, looking at his phone, seeming confused. "What is it?"

"One of the hunters, uh, missed check in," Sam answered.

"Who?" I asked.

"Maggie," Sam answered.

We all exchanged a look.

Sam was checking his laptop.

I was trying to call Maggie. "Come on, Maggie, answer the phone."

Dean sighed. "You got them wearing body cams now?"

"Yeah, they're new," Sam answered. "I figured watching each other hunt is the best way to learn. They upload directly to the server."

"And if something goes wrong, we got a place to start," Ariel added.

"Yeah, that, too," Faith agreed.

We looked at the cam on Sam's computer, seeing what happened to Maggie.

"Something jumped her," Dean told us.

Sam paused on the creature that attacked Maggie.

"The Ghoul?" I asked.

"Ava, if she's hurt or dead--" Sam started.

"We don't know that, okay?" I asked. "We don't know anything yet."

"You just watched the same thing I did," Sam told me.

"I saw a Ghoul, okay?" I asked. "And yeah, they're nasty, but they're also scavengers. They don't usually feed on the living."

"Yeah, so why attack her?" Ariel asked.

"I don't know," Dean told us. "But if we go there and find out, we got a shot at bringing her home."

"You need us?" Faith asked.

"No, no, no," Dean answered. "Ariel, Faith, you two are right about one thing. You two and Ava are the best shot at defeating Michael's monsters, and the sooner we wipe them out, the better for everyone. Sam and I got Maggie. We'll call Mom and Bobby for backup."

Ariel looked at Sam. "You sure?"

Sam sighed, nodding. "Yeah. I don't like the idea of you two always racing without slowing down, but we got this. And I know you three can handle the monsters."

"Okay," Faith told him.

"Be careful," I told them.

"You guys, too," Sam told us, giving Ariel and Faith a hug, and me a kiss.

We split up to do our jobs again.

Once again, Ariel, Faith and I were hunting down Michael's monsters.

Ariel shot two blasts of power at a monster. The monster ducked one of the blasts, but couldn't duck the other, which sent him flying into a building, making him fall down with a burning hole in his shoulder, screaming. Ariel ran toward him, spinning to kick the monster, turning to throw a blast of power at a second monster, making them crash through a building window and take out the side of the building, using her power to burn both of the monsters out of existence.

Another monster tried to punch Faith. Faith dodged to the side, flipping him to the ground, spinning to face another monster, shooting blasts of power at him, making him crash through the wall and tear more of the building down. The first monster tried to attack Faith from behind. Faith flipped over him horizontally to make him miss, landing on her feet next to him, spinning to kick him hard in the head, making him fall. I threw one of my Angel Swords to Faith. Faith caught it, spinning it around, spinning around to behead both of her monsters with the sword in one stroke.

I was holding my main Angel Sword, turning to use it to knock the feet out of another monster, sending him flipping through the air to the ground, spinning closer to another monster, slashing into him with the sword, running him through with it, kicking him off the sword to send him falling to the floor, beheading him with the sword. I flipped over a table to dodge another monster, running my sword through the monster, slamming him up the wall into the ceiling, making it crumble, letting him fall. I turned to kick the table into another monster before he could attack, making them both crash into the wall, tearing the wall down. I spun the sword around, throwing it into the monster, pinning him into the wall behind him through the chest, using magic to pull my sword back into my hand, swinging it to behead the monster.

That was just one of the other hunts for the monsters while Ariel, Faith and I were taking down Michael's monsters, while Sam and Dean were hunting their normal monster hunters.

Back at the bunker, it was to see that Sam, Dean, Mary and Bobby had saved Maggie and brought her home. The other survivors were celebrating, embracing Maggie happily.

I looked at Sam and Dean. "You did this. You got her home."

We all smiled slightly.

Sam, Ariel, Faith and I were sitting in the library.

Dean brought us some beers. "I figure that us getting Maggie home and Ava, Ariel and Faith taking out more of the supercharged monsters is cause for some celebration in the way of drinking."

"You find any excuse you can to celebrate by drinking, don't you, Uncle Dean?" Ariel asked, taking hers, opening it, drinking.

Dean smirked. "You got me."

Sam looked at us. "You girls okay?"

"Yeah," Faith answered, taking a drink. "I know before, you guys weren't keen on letting us drink, but I'm sure that you know that we did have a few drinks while over in Apocalypse World trying to stop the war."

"Yeah, we figured," I answered, taking a drink. "No use in trying to stop you now, huh?"

Ariel and Faith smirked, shaking their heads. Sam, Dean and I chuckled.

"So the monsters you faced?" Sam asked.

"Dead and gone," I answered. "Only one hunt for the last two days, though."

"Only one?" Dean repeated. "I guess Ariel and Faith really are taking your advice about slowing down."

"Ha ha," Ariel told him sarcastically.

Dean smirked. "Well, I talked to Maggie. Says she can't wait to get back in the saddle."

"Really?" Faith asked.

Dean nodded. "Well, she learned from the best, huh?"

Mary and Bobby walked in.

"Guys," Mary told us. We looked at her. "Um, we... uh, we need to talk."

Sam was on the phone. "Yeah, thank you again. Bye." Mary and Bobby walked toward us, packed up. Sam hung up. "Okay, so, uh, the key is under the garden gnome."

"And you're sure she doesn't mind?" Mary asked.

"No, Donna says her cabin is your cabin," Sam answered.

"Take as much time as you need," Dean answered.

"You deserve a break, Grandma," Ariel told her.

Mary gave Ariel and Faith a look. "And so do the two of you. Ariel, Faith, I was with you you two, Jack and Kai over there in the other world, remember? You never slow down, and yeah, you did somewhat here lately, but Sam and Ava are right. You're still just kids. You can slow down a little more."

Faith smirked. "We both know that's not gonna completely happen, Grandma. At least not until we finish this."

Mary chuckled. "I guess so."

Bobby sighed. "Sam. Listen, thos things I said before--"

"Bobby, forget about it," Sam told him.

"No, no," Bobby told him. "I... this job is no picnic. I don't know that I ever really had it in me. But you do."

"We'll--we'll just be a few weeks," Mary told us. "As soon as Bobby's back on his feet--"

"Hey, we know," Dean told her.

"If you need anything--anything, I'm just a half a day's drive, or Ariel and Faith can pick me up, or..." Mary trailed off.

"Mom, go," Dean told her. "All right? Be happy."

"We'll be fine here," I told her.

Mary gave Sam, Dean, Ariel and Faith each a hug, then me. She and Bobby left.

In the kitchen, Dean and Sam were making some calls.

Dean was calling their hunter friend Garth. "Garth? It's Dean. Here's the deal."

Sam nodded. "Yeah, that's right. Super charged monsters."

"Yeah, a whole new breed," Dean agreed.

Sam sighed. "So, I know things are crazy right now, but you got to listen to me. We got to stay safe, use the buddy system."

Dean nodded. "All right. Spread the word."

Sam and Dean hung up, turning to me, Ariel and Faith.

"Okay," Sam told us. "That's, uh, that's everybody."

"Traps for hunters," Ariel said sarcastically. "Freaking awesome."

I looked at Dean. "How is it that you've been gone for three weeks, and Ariel and Faith still manage to pick up your habits?"

Dean smirked. "I'm just that good."

We chuckled. Dean turned to get more beer.

"Uncle Dean, you know that this isn't--" Faith started.

"I know, I know," Dean told us. "Not my fault. It's Michael. It's all Michael." He scoffed. "You know, I've been trying to... not forget, but to move on from what I--from what we--from what he did. And I got to be honest, I was--I was starting to feel like myself again. Almost."

"So we'll work harder," I told them.

"How, Ava?" Dean asked. "You're still recovering from what the hex did to you. Ariel and Faith get three hours of sleep a night."

Ariel shrugged. "All right, then--then--then we'll sleep two."

Sam gave them a look. "Ariel. Faith."

"Dad, we know that you want us to slow down, but we can't until Michael is gone," Faith told him. "We're going to find him, and when we do, we will kill him."

"How?" Sam asked.

"I don't know," I told them. "We'll track down Dark Kaia and her spear. We'll find something."

Dean sighed heavily, obviously still guilt ridden. "I hope you're right."
