Percy's POV:

The start of the climb was difficult. The rocks were loose and kept breaking off, though I kept moving forward because I now knew that this journey wasn't a test of my abilities, it's a test of my will. To keep moving forward despite everything that has happened to me.

"That when the current path to the end seems impossible, look back towards your beginning, and see the obstacles you've already conquered, then use that strength to move forward" I say to myself as I reach a ledge and take a small breather

I look down at myself and sigh as I see my skin littered with cuts and bruises from losing my grip and sliding down the rock, however I smiled at the feeling of using my skill to accomplish something without my powers. After my small break I started climbing again and I felt a smile appear on my face as I kept moving.

By the end of the day I found myself half way up the mountain and I laid down and fell asleep awaiting the dream that was to come.

Third Person POV:

In the infirmary several people were looking after the group that was attacked, including Percy. The whole group was pale in the face and the medics were running around trying to do whatever they could to heal the members of the group.

After a few minutes of constant rushing, Percy's eyes tightened before they opened causing the people who were working on him to smile at him.

"Morning kid, quite a bit of commotion you caused recently huh?" one man said before he held his hand to his ear and spoke into it "Sir, the child is awake"

In a second Chaos flashed in and smiled at Percy.

"Hello kid, do you know who I am?" Chaos asked, and Percy shook his head

"Don't know, nor do I care, is my sister going to be okay?" Percy asked causing everyone in the room to go silent at his attitude

"Kid show some respect! That's Lord Chaos! The creator of all!" A man said, and Percy rolled his eyes before sitting up and jumping off and walking over to Ashley

"And? That's supposed to impress me? My sister told my titles mean nothing, they are just things people give to make others feel good" Percy said as he looked at Chaos "Now is my sister going to be alright?"

Chaos chuckled causing everyone to let out a breath.

"Yes, your sister will be fine, but she needs a lot of rest, the poison used on her was one of the forbidden kind. It saps the strength of the target until they lose the will to live, luckily I had enough of the cure to use on them but ill need to get more" Chaos said, and Percy nodded

"How can I help?" Percy asked, and Chaos looked at him

"Well, the first thing you could do is join up with my army, so you aren't constantly breaking the rules" He said in a scolding voice, but Percy rolled his eyes

"My sister says that most rules are created to be broken, but sure whatever ill join" He said causing Chaos' eye to twitch slightly as well as his lips into what looked like a smirk

"Alright its just a simple oath. So, raise your right hand" Chaos said, and Percy followed the instruction "Do you swear to uphold the core values of this military?"

"I do" Percy responded

"Do you swear to protect the people no matter the cost to yourself?" Chaos asked, and Percy responded

"I do"

"Do you swear to respect your teammates as much as you respect your family?" Chaos asked, and several people looked at him with raised eyebrow

"I do" Percy said

"Then I welcome you to your new home. Training starts tomorrow, unless of course you want to start today"

"I'd rather start today" Percy said, and Chaos smiled

"Very well, I will bring you to your class" with that, Chaos snapped his fingers and the two were transported to a large room where a group of sixteen year olds were training with wooden swords or spears

They immediately all stopped what they were doing, and they bowed to Chaos.

"Greetings Lord Chaos to what honor do we owe this visit?" A man with blond hair and blue eyes said as he rose up from his bow

"You have a new recruit Lucas, this is Percy Jackson" Chaos said, and Lucas nodded as he walked over and held out his hand

"Glad to meet you Percy, a little on the young side, aren't you?" Lucas asked, and Percy shrugged

"I just want to help my sister" Percy said, and Lucas smiled

"Alright then, grab a weapon and let's start, you'll be my partner for the day" Lucas said, and Percy nodded again

"I'll take a spear" Percy said, and Lucas nodded before grabbing a wooden spear and tossing it to Percy who just barely caught it

Over the next few months Percy trained with Lucas and improved but instead of training on his own time, he would spend it in the infirmary with his sister, constantly worrying about her. Percy would make beginner mistakes and soon fell below average for the team, and as such was picked on for it. However Lucas trained with Percy every day, a brotherly relationship forming between the two.

"Again, come on Percy" Lucas said as Percy just blocked a simple strike "You're never going to improve if you don't pay attention"

"I know." Percy grumbled as Lucas thrusted forward with his spear again causing Percy to jump back out of habit

"Percy..." Lucas chastised and Percy clutched his spear

"I get it!" he growled

"Apparently you don't, your improvement has been slow and not at all steady. You'll never improve at this rate, never be able to protect those that you love" Lucas responded angrily "You were lucky to have woken up so soon, and that Chaos even thought about giving you a position in his army. But you are making him seem like an idiot, so if you don't shape up soon Percy I will have to report you to Chaos and have you removed from the program" He said and Percy grit his teeth before nodding and looking at Lucas

"Fine" He said quickly as Lucas rushed forward and thrusted again

Percy held his ground but just barely deflected the strike. Lucas jumped back and repeated the motion several more times, each time Percy improving by a small amount. After the tenth time a woman runs in and stops the session.

"Perseus, you're wanted in the infirmary" the woman said and Percy looked at Lucas who just nodded and smiled

Percy dropped his spear before running out of the room. He sprinted down hallways and attempted to shove through people who blocked his path only to bounce off harmlessly. As Percy hit the ground several people around him started laughing.

"Where you going pipsqueak? Back to your room to cry?" an older boy said as Percy slowly stood up "Oh no, your staying right where you are" The boy said as he pushed Percy back to the ground "So tell me, where are you going wimp?" he asked again as he put his foot on Percy's chest

"None of your business Xavier" Percy gasped as he tried to push Xavier off of his chest but failed

"Oh but it is my business, since were such good friends right?" Xavier smiled and said darkly as he got off of his chest and pulled Percy up "Right!" he whispered viciously into Percy's ear as Lucas rounded the corner

"R-Right" Percy said and Xavier let him go before walking past with other onlookers holding in their amusement

"Come on Percy" Lucas said as he grabbed Percy by the arm and pulled him away from the scene and toward the infirmary

Once in the infirmary, Percy looked around to find Ashley arguing with the medical team.

"Ma'am I am ordering you to stay put! You need to rest and let the rest of your injuries heal" the head doctor said causing Ashley to roll her eyes

"And, I'm saying that I'm healed enough, besides I don't take orders from you, I only take orders from Chaos. I am going to see my little brother, because he is too young to be in the army, and you can't stop me from doing anything different" She said as she stood up and turned around only to be frozen in her tracks as she spotted Percy "Lucas? What are you doing here?" She asked as she stumbled over to Percy who ran up to her and hugged her with all his might

"I am Percy's trainer, and leader of..." He started but Ashley cut him off

"Of delta company, an experimental company of rouges, bullies, and traitors that have 'repented'. Did you tell Chaos that my little brother was a fighter? A dagger wielding scoundrel? TELL ME THIEF SPAWN!" Ashley snarled as she stood up and glared at Lucas who took a step back but narrowed his eyes

"Delta isn't all bad people Ash, and what did I tell you about that name! He was young and stupid to do what he did but that doesn't make me like him"

"And yet it does, stealing is your forte isn't it? Items, thoughts, hearts, if I can name it you can steal it, isn't that your motto?" She clenched her fists as her hair started to flow and the air gained a sort of pressure to it "Well let me tell you something, you are not stealing my little brother from me, he will train under me and my team not you and your band of criminals" Ashley growled

"He was appointed to my team by Chaos, therefore that makes him MY soldier to train not yours, not your teams and definitely not Sigma Company. It's my responsibility to make sure Percy is trained and I intend on training him you glorified lizard hunter!" Lucas spat back causing Ashley's eyes to go wide before she clenched her fists

"Well at least my father wasn't going around stealing everything he laid eyes on!" Ash shouted as she raised her fist and attempted to throttle Lucas but was stopped by Percy who stepped in between them

"Stop fighting!" Percy yelled causing both Ashley and Lucas to look at him "Why are you fighting? Aren't you apart of the same army?" at this they both looked at each other and nodded stiffly

"The reason we are fighting goes back to before we met you Percy, and it is... complicated" Lucas said to which Ashley rolled her eyes

"To you maybe, but that's because your small brain can only focus on at max three things at once... What your next item to steal is, how your going to get away, and who your going to try to bed next" Ashley hissed

"Why you little..." Lucas started but Percy stomped his foot

"I said stop! I will train with Lucas during the day..." Percy started saying

"But Per..." Ashley interrupted only to get a hand raised from Percy

"And I'll train with my sister at night" He finished and they both looked at each other

As the two made eye contact a simple understanding passed through them and they nodded.

Percy went back to the training room with Lucas and the two trained until dusk were Percy left the company training room and went to his sister's room where she was put so she would stop arguing with the medics. There he trained with Ashley to control his powers and the finer points of combat.

Over the next year or two, Percy found him at the epicenter of several fights between Ashley and Lucas. They would fight over what kind of training Percy really needed, over who was a better teacher and even over who was his favorite. Percy would often find himself talking with a friend that he made during one lunch period. The kid was apart of the public affairs section of the army.

"They always fight... no matter what I do they are at each other's throats" Percy said as the kid chuckled and looked at him

He had black hair with dark eyes. He had a notepad, feather and inkwell with him.

"Well, I imagen they are treading water when their ship sank" he said and Percy looked at him weirdly but he just waved off the look "Besides at least their passionate about training you, my boss wasn't nearly as passionate, he just kind of told me what to do and expected me to do it flawlessly" He finished and Percy chuckled

"Yeah, I mean if only they were this serious about their positions in their teams" another voice said and I looked over to see an older girl named Star said before returning to her food

"Whatever, anyway, its been nice to talk Nicolas" Percy said as he stood up and started walk away

"How many times do I have to say it! It's Nic!" He yelled with a slight chuckle

Percy walked over to Lucas and kicked his shin causing him to glare at Percy with mock anger.

"Come on, its time to train" Percy said and Lucas looked back at Ashley

"We will finish this later" He said as he walked off with Percy

However as soon as they both turned away Ashley gained a sad look before leaving the mess hall.

Percy's POV:

I woke up with a start and I sighed as the morning sun started peaking over the horizon. I clenched my fists and quickly broke down camp and started the climb up the mountain again. This time, I was determined to make a lot of progress.

A/N: Here you go, currently midnight as I post this but fuck it, I need to get my schedule for the next week. I'll be up for the rest of the night.
