After Shen Wei was done giving Yunlan the sponge bath he went to throw the water meanwhile Yunlan was lying comfortably on the bed suddenly remembered something and got off the bed , when Shen Wei came back in the room and saw Yunlan going out he instantly rushed to side and held his arm

"I told you to rest where are you going"

"gege I feel better , and I have to check on my father"

Now this made Shen Wei a little surprised "your father? he is here?"

Yunlan nodded

"if he is here then why didn't he helped you " Shen Wei said with a frown

"because he can't, instead , he is the one who needs my help"

Shen Wei didn't say anything , But helped Yunlan towards his father's room , after they entered the room Shen Wei saw a pale old man lying on the bed the old man's eyes were open and he was staring at the ceiling but when he heard the door opened he turned his head slightly but didn't say anything he eyes were focused on Yunlan.

"Dad I am sorry I overslept" Yunlan said with a smile and slowly walked towards his father

Shen Wei who just stood their dumbfounded at a sudden realization which left him shell shocked.

He quickly regained himself and said "Yunlan you sit down let me do it"

Yunlan who already looked deadly pale after walking just a little was hesitating but Shen Wei just pushed him down to sit on the bed "you tell me what to do , beside in this condition you will make things worse "

Yunlan nodded and then said "first of all we have to make him sit on the wheelchair then take him to the washroom , give him a bath , then prepare some soup for him"

Shen Wei nodded while he was mentally noting down things the door bell suddenly rang

"Lets get you to bed first and let the doctor do the check up, "

So While the doctor checked Yunlan's condition Shen Wei helped Yunlan's father , while Shen Wei was helping Yunlan's father he felt a little weird this was the man who he had met when he had entered the police station to ask for help some 14 years ago at that this man was healthy then how come he became like this.

The man looked like corpse with no movement in his body at all , it was obvious that this man was paralyzed , but where was Yunlan's mother and relatives was he taking care of his father all by himself and another thing Shen Wei knows that the medicines and treatments which his father requires would be very expensive.

Shen Wei felt like trash just now , Yunlan had always been there for him but he never tried to look into Yunlan's life he was so absorbed in his own problems that he never really paid attention to Yunlan's problems.

And Yunlan also never talked to him about his life at all he always had a calm face no matter how serious the situation is he never looses his cool , so naturally Shen Wei never paid much attention to his affairs.

Shen Wei sighed looks like he and Yunlan had to work a lot to improve their relationship.

After Shen Wei was helping Yunlan's father he placed him on the chair and pushed it into the living room and then walked towards Yunlan 's room to check on his condition

"how is he doc."

I have given him the medicine so he will be asleep for the time being , I also gave him glucose drip , it looks like he has not been sleeping properly plus there were also signs of malnutrition , fatigue and exhaustion all of it took a toll on his body so currently he is quiet week , make sure to give him medicine on time and also gave him some light food to eat" The doctor said

After seeing the doctor out Shen Wei went to the kitchen and opened the fridge to look for some ingredients but when he opened the fridge he saw that there was absolutely nothing in the fridge absolutely nothing the fridge was completely empty

Shen Wei felt so irritated that he closed the door with a bang and said

"what the hell, is this fridge is here for decoration "
Shen Wei then again took out his phone and was going to order some porridge when the door bell ran again

When Shen Wei open the door he saw a young woman standing there , the woman was quiet surprised to see Shen Wei.

"um.. where is Yunlan ?" the woman asked

Shen Wei recognized the voice this was the same lady who he had talked to yesterday on the phone

"he is inside but may I ask who are you?" Shen Wei said

"I should ask that question , what are you doing at his house ...wait are you his boyfriend Yunlan has talked about you sometimes what was your name again ,Shen Shen Chan ?, no Shen Qi?"

"Its Shen Wei "

"oh yeah by the way I am Anna his friend now let me in" saying so Anna walked inside "where is he ?"

"he is sick and currently sleeping " Shen Wei said

"I knew it , he was overworking himself since past few days . anyways my mom was also worried about him so she sent some soup for him and his father....." Anna said but when she saw a little confusion on Shen Wei's face she added "My mom is Yunlan's father's caretaker we live just four blocks away"

Shen Wei nodded in understanding "by the way Ms. Anna how long have known Yunlan?"

"I have known him 10 years why?"

"can you tell me how did his father became like this and where is his mother "

Now this made Anna a little shocked "You don't know , what kind of boyfriend are you" Anna sighed "but then again I don't blame you that idiot doesn't like to talk about his problems at all"

but everything started to went downhill after an incident 13 years ago Yunlan's father was working on a case which was related to a notorious killer I don't know much about the case but all I know is that , that murderer was really dangerous , Uncle Zhao worked day and night to gather the evidences and eventually he caught the killer....but what he didn't know was that , that serial killer had a partner so one day when Yunlan's father was coming back home , that man attacked him ..all I know is that Uncle Zhao killed that man but he himself was gravely injured and was rushed to the hospital .

in the hospital they told his family that they needed to perform surgery ..Yunlan's family agreed but..."

Anna stopped and clenched her fist while Shen Wei's heart beated rapidly against his chest ,

"the surgery went wrong and uncle Zhao's body paralyzed he can only move his neck and eyes that's it he can understand us hear us but can't talk , can't move, can't do anything without anyone's support, in short he became a corpse....

those bastards in the hospital didn't take any responsibility neither provided any compensation....after this accident Yunlan's entire family started to fall apart , his relatives turned their backs on him , his mother started working , taking more than two jobs and his brother he...."

Anna stopped again this time her eyes were filled with tears

"his brother got involved with wrong people and started doing drugs and eventually died from drug overdose ..while his mother suffered severe depression and all the stress and exhaustion on her body so she died from heart attack"

Shen Wei didn't want to listen anymore he held his head between his hands , this was really too much

"no problem in these recent days I have seen him happy whenever he talks about you , for him you are really special , so I think that you can make him open up and improve this habit of his to bottle up everything it will be tough though Yunlan has always taken care of others and always handled the problems all by himself he is not used to depend on others not after his own blood relatives did that to him." Anna said with sigh and stood up "since you are here, I should go , I have already given you the soup make sure you give it to him okay?"

After Anna left Shen Wei again checked on Yunlan , and sat beside him and caressed his head. then tightly held his hand he didn't say anything just sat there and observed Yunlan

Guilt was the only thing he was feeling just now , just because Yunlan always had a smile on his face Shen Wei assumed that his life would be easy , who would have thought that behind that smile was such a dark past .

Shen Wei had his parents his siblings who were always on his side to provide for him , to cheer him up to care for him , he had people he could depend on, but who did Yunlan had no one other than himself

No one was there to wipe Yunlan's tears or console him when he would be sad , no one there to cheer him up no one was there on whom he could depend on

When Shen Wei had lost his father and family, he was lucky enough to get another family but what about Yunlan he didn't even had the time to mourn or complain.

What ever he had gone in the past few days , Yunlan had experienced it way before and that to all alone.

Thinking about all this mad Shen Wei's heart heavier and heavier , when he had started to date Yunlan his feelings were not so strong at that time but now it was different he didn't know when but Yunlan became so important for him that he cannot imagine his life without him , when he was happy he would think of Yunlan , when he was sad he would think of Yunlan when he had problem he would think of Yunlan it was like Yunlan had already took a very important place in Shen Wei's heart without him even being aware of it.

When ever he would see Yunlan he felt and unfamiliar feeling in his heart which made him feel weird sensations ,every time he was with Yunlan his heart would start beating fast and his blood would start rushing in his veins ,in Yunlan's company Shen Wei never felt insecure or anxious , he would always feel light as if he was on a cloud whenever he was with Yunlan

No other person has ever ,made Shen Wei feel like this . now that Shen Wei thinks about it maybe he liked Yunlan more than he thought . No he didn't liked Yunlan anymore instead he...

loved him
