Childhood Innocence and the Lovers of the Night

-Meiko's POV-

"Twi...nkle... Twi...nkle... li...ttle... star..." I was learning piano with my Mother. She was a beautiful person, with grass green hair and eyes. She often wore orange, which actually suits her really well. Unfortunately, I am a very plain person. Brown hair and eyes. Usually Mother and Father buy me red dresses. Oh! Speaking of Father. "Preposterous! Who in their right mind would take these and make entertainment out of them?!" His blue eyes flickered in anger. Mother stood up. "Hon, what's wrong?" Father handed her a slip of paper, which she took and read. ".... oh. I see." I got up from the piano and ran over. "What is it, Mother?" She made attempt to throw it in the trash, but I grabbed it first. The man who brought it was long gone. I read the contents of the flyer aloud. "'Come see the deformity! The Dark Woods Circus. Bring your family. Bring the children.' Deformity? What's a deformity?" I asked. Mother looked at me with dark yet sad eyes. "It's a cold truth you are too young to understand. Don't even THINK about going to that circus. It's most definitely NOT for children." My look of curiosity morphed into plain confusion. A circus... NOT for children? That makes no sense! I went back to the piano, thinking about the wonders deformity might bring, and the circus in and of itself.

- timeskip brought to you by innocent Meiko's "whats a deformity?" -

It was night, and I couldn't sleep. Mother and Father must have long gone to bed by now. I want to see the circus. I want to see the circus. Why am I not allowed to see the circus? Its not for children? I had this weird feeling. As if the circus was almost calling for me. Like it wanted me to come. I looked at the door. My parents are on the other side. Then I look at the window. Even IT seemed to whisper for me. Well, no time like the present. I quietly opened the window and hopped out. It was fairly dark, but I knew where I was. "If Mother and Father won't take me, I will just go myself! I'm sure Lady IA should still be up, she will tell me!"

Oh! There is a woman who lives around here. We all call her Lady IA. She reads some newspaper called the "Secret Scoop", and is always looking out for people. She is friends with just about everyone. Just as I expected, she was over by the fountain when I ran over. "Lady IA!" The platinum blonde turned to look at me. "Meiko? What on Earth? You should be asleep." I shook my head. "I'm not sleeping. I want to go see the circus!" A look of terror formed in her eyes. "The CIRCUS? Meiko, child, are you alright?" "Please? I want to go see it!" I gave her pleading eyes. She sighed. "If I tell you the location, will you promise to at least think this through?" I nodded in anticipation. "All right. Its deep in the woods. The center of it. The one near the town. You will know you have reached it if you see two abnormally tall dancers, both female." I grinned happily. "Thank you so much!" I continued to skip along the path. "Please, be careful!" I heard behind me. Oh my god. I can actually do this! I can see the circus!

- ANOTHER timeskip brought to you by the kind Lady IA -

How long have I been walking? It's so dark. I can see the moon, but not much else. Is it really so deep in here? I mean, it IS a circus. I could feel a pair of eyes on me. I turned around, but no one was there. This is creepy... I heard something moments later. And felt it too. A stomping noise. What could it be? I looked beyond a tree, and saw a giant walking. I was about to scream, before I realized: it wasn't walking. It was dancing? It was doing a ballroom dance with another giant, both of them were female. The first one I noticed wore a suit, and had red eyes, as well as a white ponytail. The other wore a beautiful dress, and had a yellow side ponytail, with matching eyes. They both twirled and danced, and they held such passion. It almost looked like... love. Mother always told me about love. "Everyone has love." She would say. "But just like some show it in different ways, some show it to different kinds of people. Judging that is judging love, so don't ever judge love." I couldn't help but smile at how happy they seemed. It took them a while to notice me. "... what are you doing here? Run home, girl." The one in the suit said. "You can't be here. It's dangerous!" The one wearing the dress said. The two looked at each other and frowned. Almost like any adult would. They had that look on their face. The look of "how will she listen to us?". The look of "she's too young to understand.". But I couldn't let myself judge them. "I think that I can have fun here. Just like both of you! You are having fun, correct?" The blonde spoke again. "Haku and I- we.... its complicated." I let out a sigh. "My Mother says to never judge a kind of love, because that means you judge love." They both seemed taken aback for a moment, and then "Haku" smiled. "That's good to hear. My name is Yowane Haku, and this is Akita Neru." Neru seemed really worried. "Its great to meet you, but trust me when I say-" a fourth voice broke in. "Oh, don't be so cruel to the poor thing. I mean, she came all this way by herself just to see the circus. She should be allowed!" Everyone turned to look at the one who said that. Can it be called one? Out of one body sprouted two heads. One female and one male. It was obvious the female spoke, because the male was fast asleep. The female seemed bright and cheerful, and looked like she always had fun, but there was something eerie about her. The male seemed kind, like he had fans but was never too overwhelmed by them, but in a weird way, looked like he knew too much. The two in front of me lost the will to speak. The female head talked to me again. "My name is Rin, the sleeping one is Len. Come on, you will just love this fun place!" Before I could even say yes, she grabbed my hand and led me to the tent.

-Haku's POV-

We stood there in silence for five seconds. Did Rin seriously just do that? "I hope her fate isn't too severe..." Neru said next to me. Her beautiful golden eyes seemed tainted with worry. I leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. "It will be all right, darling. When Len discovers this, she will learn what she has gotten herself into." The girl before me smiled, and we began dancing all of it away. All of the pain and the past. All of the misery.

Because right now, we are all that matters.

Okay. So, for fanfiction purposes and solving my own confusion, things will be even more edited towards the end. Just an early warning. So take all the things you knew from the end...

And throw those all away because we have a new ending now!

Okay, it will be SIMILAR. Just wait for it. XD
