Chapter-10-"Twisted Games"

Bella Devina's POV

He holds me around my waist as I try to push him away to get to my best friend ignoring the gun in his hand.

"Calm down, my Little Dove. I won't hurt your friend here." He says and I look at him. Does he think I can believe him? "But I can't promise anything."

"You monster!" I brush away the tears. There is no escaping this day! If I have to face this, I will do it bravely! He smiles at me and I want to punch him. If only I knew by the end of this I will learn a whole new truth. That my whole world and life is a lie.

"Now." He unlocks the gun and I see him checking the bullets in it before locking it back as he holds it with his right hand while holding me with his left. A tall buff guy walks in whose name I learned is Simon and following him is another guy who looks lean with thick glasses on. He is typing on his laptop. They come and sit in front of us to the other end of the desk placing their laptop on it.

"Started the Truth or Dare yet?" Simon asks as he eyes the people in the room.

"About to." The monster whose lap I am sitting on says. He pushes the hair behind my ear and I move away from his grip. I am seething, but helpless. My eyes are on my best friend. She is not looking at me. I frown. "The only person who has the answers is your friend here, Julia. So, I give you the chance, my Princess, to choose Truth or Dare for her." He looks at me lovingly.

"Are you insane?" Like I would be playing this stupid game! I want to grab Julia and run!

"He kind of is." Simon chuckles. "But you are the only one who told him that and lived another second." I look at them like they are all crazy.

"I am not choosing!"

"Fine. I will then." Gabriel looks at Julia. "Truth, Julia." He chooses for her. She still doesn't look up. "Let's start with something simple. What's your full name?" He asks.

"Julia Benitez." She answers not looking up. My heart breaks when I hear her voice. I want to go to her. The guy with the laptop starts typing faster after that.

"One more truth." Gabriel smiles. It makes me shudder. "How do you know Bella?"

"My brother works..." She pauses. "For her family." She doesn't mention my father. I don't show any emotion though. Gabriel looks at me and I nod. "We met at her ninth birthday." I remember the first time we met. I saw her sitting at a corner of the room not caring and just having her cake. We became best friends instantly.

"Now, you choose for your friend, Bella. Truth or Dare?" He asks.

"Fuck you." I seethe. Simon chuckles.

"We will get to that later." He winks. "Truth or Dare?" He won't let go. I just look away. "Truth it is then." He continues. "What's your brother's name?"

"Samuel Benitez." She mutters.

"Found them." The laptop guy says. I bite my lip. Julia still doesn't lift her head. Simon looks at the screen and reads.

"Brother's payroll runs under the company name Yaven Publishers?" They are confused. "A face for their illegal businesses" Simon realises. "Mother and Father's paycheck's the same."

"Truth or Dare?" Gabriel asks again. Julia doesn't speak. "Truth it is." He looks at me though. "What does Bella's father do?" He asks. I hold my breath. Julia hesitates. "Is he into illegal business?" He offers. She nods. I don't know much about my father's businesses. Just that some of what he does is illegal. "What is it?" He asks.

"She doesn't know. We both don't." I nearly whine. He looks at me.

"Does she, Little Dove? You think she doesn't know." He looks at her. "Answer." His voice turns dangerous.

"He does drug business and..." I look at her in shock. She knows or is she predicting. "He deals with some local gangs getting them under his team to create a-"

"Large clan of his own." Simon finishes.

"He does some drug transfers on his port." She answers but this time looks up at me like she is answering me. She knew this whole time and she doesn't tell me?!!! "I am sorry." She mouths but everyone saw it.

"Truth or Dare?" Gabriel asks. It gets silent. So silent. "Truth it is." What happens if we choose Dare? I don't even want to think about it. He could make us do something horrific.

"What if we choose Dare?" I ask.

"No!" Julia yells shaking her head at me. Gabriel's lips curl up. The look on his face shows the plan he has in mind. I don't know what it is, Something in me tells me never to ask it.

"She is not ready for it." Simon says.

"Do you choose Dare?" Gabriel asks. I shake my head.

"But why call it Truth or Dare if you scare us and are going to make us choose Truth?" I ask and he shakes his head.

"You got it all wrong, my Chica. You have the choice. Choice to be brave enough to choose either. Choice to be scared of me. You are just afraid of the consequences. Which again." He points at me. "You chose." He makes sense, but this is twisted.

"Fuck your Twisted Games!" I hiss. I am angry at myself for not being daring enough to choose dare. Angry at myself that I have to hide all of this.

"Truth again." Gabriel says. "What's Bella's father's name?" He asks and Julia shuts up. Her lips tighten. He sees she is not going to answer. "Hmm." He looks at Simon. He pulls the safety on his gun. "Did you ever shoot, my Little Dove?" He asks and I shake my head. "Here." He takes my hand and puts the gun in."

"No." The horror I feel shakes me. He clamps his hand around mine making me hold the gun.

"Let's shoot."

"No! Let me-" Before I know it, he points my hand at something and the gun goes off. "NOOOO!!!" I see that the bullet hit one of the three guys, who I nearly forgot about, on his leg. He screams in pain. Tears pool my eyes. "You fucking monster!"

"Do you know who they are?" He asks. I am crying to even answer. The blood splattered everywhere. Julia's face doesn't show shock though. "They are the men who were going to help you escape last night.

What?!!!

"Tell me how does your friend know the local gang members?" He asks and I stare at Julia in shock. She is looking down again. "I might not kill your friend, but I can kill them if I don't get answers." He blackmails. "Your sweet, innocent and kind heart can take it?" He mocks.

"YOU ARE A FUCKING PSYCHO!!!" He laughs at it.

"Tell me something I don't know!" His tone goes low. He aims at one more person lifting my hand.

"Stop! Please!" I plead. He is about to pull the trigger. "David Devina!" My voice comes out meekly, but I knew he heard me.

"Fucking knew it!" Simon throws his hands up in the air. "He doesn't have a sister or brother to have a niece!" What? They know my father? I look at Gabriel. His lips are in a tight line. "The name." He speaks to Gabriel.

"One more important question before that." He says. "What's the name of the guy you are to marry?" He asks me. I shake my head.

"I don't know! They never told me!" He removes the gun from my hand and pulls me closer to his chest. Lance turns the laptop to Gabriel and shows something. Gabriel stiffens for a moment.

"I am giving you one chance, Julia." He cradles my head and I let him. I try to stop the tears and it works but the sight of blood and the fact that I killed a guy less than a minute ago doesn't help. "Tell your friend the truth of who and what you are before I reveal it to her." Julia looks up at me. She bites her lip. "Now!" He commands. I frown.

Truth of who she is? What?! Is she hiding something?!

What is he talking about?!!!

"I am sorry, Bells." Tears pool her eyes.

Please don't tell me she betrayed me!!!

"M-My family has been working for yours since the past two generations." I nod. That I know. "I-I have been selected by your father."

"What?" I don't understand.

"I have been selected to be your best friend." Her confession makes me gasp. She couldn't meet my eyes. "I have been training since I was four. To spy, to shoot, to kill." Her words start getting to me breaking a part of me. The only comfort as much as I hate it is the warmth of Gabriel's body and him holding me.

"Did you tell Dad everything about me. Everything I told you?" I ask. That means I do not have a personal life. There is nothing for myself. I wish for her to say no. But she goes silent.

"Most of it. Yes." She confesses and another gasp leaves my lips. My throat tightens as she speaks. Gabriel wipes a tear from my cheek. "It-it was my job." She says. "You are my best friend though!" She immediately says. "He doesn't know about this trip bells. I swear! I wanted you to have the best week of your life." I scoff.

More like the worst one!!!

"I even removed the tracker they put in you." She speaks like she is guilty. She is!

"The put a fucking tracker in me?" What the fuck?!!!

"Do you know who she is supposed to marry?" Gabriel asks her. I wait. I need to know.

"He never told me. Only his close associates know." She answers. He stays silent at that. "They were talking about the big deal that could come through with this marriage. I heard the tm talking once. I don't know what it is though." Gabriel and Simon share a look. My heart clenches. I was just a business deal to my father. Nothing more.

"What's my Bella's real name?" He asks Julia as his eyes lock with mine. I glare at him. Julia stays silent. He looks at her for a second waiting and then nods at one of his men. I see everyone is holding their breath on it. The man holding Julia pushes her down making her kneel.

I don't go to save her. I don't even move a bit. Gabriel's hold on me gets tight. Julia still doesn't speak.

"Such loyalty." Gabriel's voice is above a whisper as he looks at Simon. "Name!" He commands.

"ANGELICA DEVINA!" I yell at him knowing Julia would never tell it. All eyes are on me. An errie sense of calm falls over us. Suddenly everything felt heavy. Gabriel is staring at me. He is staring at me like he is seeing me for the first time again. He calms studies my face like he is trying to find some clues. I broke the biggest law my parents laid for me. Never tell you name to anyone! You are Bella now! Mom said.

Why can't I say it now?!!! Everything and more is out in the open.

Why not say it to the one man who is offering me the truth?!!! My world broke apart. He broke down all those walls.

This is enough truth for the day!

I so badly want to take the gun from him and shoot at the walls to let the frustration out. I look at Julia and I so badly want to yell at her. Anger courses through me and I feel like I am on fire. I stand up from his lap. Grabbing his gun I walk around the table. Gabriel follows me as I go to Julia. She is staring at me with fear.

She has never seen me like this.

I have never seen me like this!

All of this truth... All of the lies I have around me... Everything is an illusion. The family, the friends... Every. Fucking. Thing!

I stand beside her and point the gun at her head. She calls herself my best friend?! Still?! Even when she knew what I was living in?!

"I wanted to tell you many times, Bells. Please! I really did. You have to trust me!!!" She pleads.

"AHHH!!!" I yell pulling the trigger as I point at the walls behind and shoot till the gun goes empty. I feel Gabriel's hands on my waist as I do. Like is supporting me. Like he would give me a bigger gun to shoot my anger out. Once the bullets are done, I turn back and give him the gun staring right into his eyes. "I CHOOSE DARE, MOTHERFUCKER!!!" I was told not to curse, but who would stop me now.

Gabriel looks at the holes in the wall where I just shot. His lips curl up one side like they usually do and he nods.

He knows what he did. He knows what he just did to me. I turn around and walk out of the room without looking at any of them. The cold breeze hits me as Ryan opens the door for me. He nods at Gabriel as I walk out.

I am not the same person that walked into that room anymore. I can't be Bella anymore.

Bella itself is unreal. Bella is fake. Bella is an illusion. Bella... is a FUCKING LIE.

But who am I? Do I even know anymore? Do I have anyone?

I know Gabriel would differ with the last statement.

Where do I do now? Just accept the defeat and stay in this cage? Is this even a cage? Or did Gabriel free me from one?

One thing is clear.

Gabriel! My monster! He is the truth! A truth that hurts.

As I walk up the stairs, I realize how much one morning changed.

Where do I go from here?
