~49~
I might hurt you at every moment, we spend together but you can't say that I didn't love you because of that hurt. Hurt is just another word for my love for you.
-Randhir
----------------------------------
He came back from the office his boots clicking on the rich marble of the floor. He pushed his thick curly hair back which was falling on his forehead before putting his file and phone on the coffee table. He looked around trying to find that one person his eyes were yearning for but couldn't find her anywhere.
He walked to the other side of the house opening the sliding door of the backyard. He found her as usual sitting on the swing having a book in her lap with a glass of warm milk placed in front of her. He sighed removing his shades moving to her.
She stopped changing the pages as she felt his presence around her. He sat beside her checking the temperature of her milk before passing the cup to her which she silently took without speaking much. She sipped on the warm thick liquid looking at the plants.
"There are so many flies here. You should come inside", he said softly as she nodded getting up from her place closing her book.
She didn't really start showing much till now as it was still the 4th month of her pregnancy. He made sure the doctor visits her regularly. He even got a pharmacy ready in the mansion.
"Suniye"
"Listen", she whispered which made him turn to her waiting for her to continue.
"You are a doctor", she stated as he nodded his head.
"Then why don't you do my delivery", she said more like asked making him frown.
"I appointed the best doctor for you. Aren't you comfortable with her?", he asked holding her shoulder making her look up at him making her sigh.
"It's not about comfort. It's about trust. With the turn of events, I don't think I even trust my shadow at this moment at least I can trust the father of my child for his safety", she said softly looking blankly at him.
"If you really want that then I will do your delivery", he told her as she nodded. Her face didn't really show any happiness or sadness, it was just blank. It was this way since the time she woke up.
For the world, she was behaving normally but for Randhir, he completely lost her. Her eyes lost the shine they always had. Even when he forced her to stay with him, there were little flames in her eyes but now it seemed like she lost all the reasons to live.
It was like she was living for her baby. She would have her food when he would ask her not because she was hungry. The Kimaya who could never stay hungry now didn't even feel her hunger anymore.
He made her sit on the bed in their room as her eyes fall on the baby picture of Lord Krishna hanging on the wall which her mother-in-law brought a week ago. She said that it will provide a good aura and safety to the baby inside her womb from evil spirits or evil things in general.
"You wanna eat something", he asked pushing her hair behind her ear making her look at him before shaking her head.
"Maya, You used to have so many cravings. You don't have to hide them. I am your husband. It's my responsibility to fulfill all the needs of you and our baby", he said sitting beside her. He made her lay her head on his shoulder.
"I don't want anything just promise me one thing", she said making him frown looking at her.
"First promise me you won't deny", she said making him frown but looking at the determination on his face, he nodded.
"I know you can do anything but break your promise. That is what made me adore you so much", she said with a smile which made him feel uncomfortable. He should feel happy seeing her smile after so much time but he had a completely different reaction to it.
She took a deep breath before taking his hand and making him put it on her lower abdomen. He was feeling weird now with her behavior.
"Still there are 5 more months to go. I always wonder how our baby would look. Would he or she take upon your hazel eyes or my brown ones? Would he take upon my chubby face or your sharp jaw, would he take upon your pointed nose or would he take upon my skin tone? Though I really want him to take upon your wheatish skin tone. I always liked your skin more than mine", she said with a dreamy look in her eyes.
"Why are you speaking like you won't see them? We would come to know after a few months how he would look?", he said trying to predict what was going on in her mind.
She stood up from her place before moving to her study table and came back with many papers.
She passed the papers to him making him frown.
"Life had been very much unpredictable for me after marriage. I don't know what else is in store for me. With this I want you to know something else as well", she said making him look at her with worry-filled eyes.
"I know you don't believe in these things but now I am really scared of all these things", she said before taking a deep breath.
"I don't know why but it feels really weird. I don't see a reason for living anymore except for my baby. I have lost all my hope in living. I am just living for my baby. I feel like if something happened during delivery or I didn't make it after it like you know if I...", she was saying when he shouted.
"Stop", she flinched at his high pitch as he looked at her with red eyes.
"This is not a joke", he told her making her stare at him with sad eyes.
"I am not joking", she spoke making him glare at her.
"Dare you say another world. You would see the worst of me", he said making her smile.
"I have seen the worst of you", Kimaya said shaking her head. He fisted his hands before reaching out pulling her hair making her wince with the smile still evident on her face.
"I am trying, Maya, to be the perfect husband for you. Don't test my patience", He said his eyes pleading this time.
"I am not scared of you", she whispered as he gritted pulling her face closer to his.
"Stop saying rubbish I am telling you. I told you I am not like those stupid lovers. I love you which means I want you forever with me. You are not leaving me. Not now not ever", he told her in a dangerously calm voice.
"It's a universal truth. Everybody has to leave", she said caressing his cheek being obvious to his harsh treatment.
"You have gone crazy, Maya. You are not leaving me and mind you I won't even see the face of our child if something happened to you", he told her making her eyes widen as she shook her head.
"You are not doing any such thing", she said as he narrowed his eyes at her.
"Maya, you are so sure that you aren't going to survive", he told her with anger-filled eyes.
"I am just taking it as a situation. Anything can happen", she told him making him smile cruelly.
"Remember Maya, this baby is special for me because it's the proof of our love. This baby is special to me because it connects me to you. If something happened to you, I don't care about anything else. Randhir Ahlawat is nothing with his Maya. I don't want anything other than you", he told her.
"But we can't predict the future", she tried to make him understand.
"If you are so sure that you won't survive then remember, two dead bodies would leave this mansion that day. I am not letting you leave me alone", he said as her eyes started tearing up.
"Why are you making things difficult?", she asked him as he shook his head releasing his hold in her hair massaging her scalp.
"I am just telling you the truth. If you think, you can just make me the happiest man ever with your loved one second and then leave me all alone in this world then forget this thing", he told her hugging her close to his heart.
She let out a breath as she felt his hard body against her after so long that it felt weirdly comfortable. She wrapped her arms around him trying to calm him who seemed furious with her words. She never thought he would react this way. She at one point thought he got her back because of her pregnancy but his words made her think again about it.
She knew she shouldn't talk about this anymore. She looked on the other side of the bed where all the letters she wrote to her unborn child were scattered. She didn't want him to feel that he didn't have his mother. She wants him to know how much she loved him. How much does she love his father? How much she is trying to stay with them? But she was determined if a difficult situation occurs and the need to take a hard decision, she would save her child even if she meant sacrificing herself. She can take his father's anger and hatred towards her but not live with the fact that she could've saved her baby.
She knows she was just thinking too much but all the threats she got till now and the ones which harm her strong relationship with her husband made her think twice about her safety. If Randhir's enemy could go to these limits to make him weak then she can go to any limits to hurt their baby. Thinking about it itself made her feel so scared which made her hug him more tightly.
She knew he was very much connected to her but right now she didn't want to think like a wife but a mother. She sighed pulling away from him as he looked at her face like he was scared she will disappear any moment. He placed his forehead on hers as she chose to enjoy the silence.
---------------------------------
"Bhabhi, I got pineapple pastry", Shantanu called from the living room. He got a call from Randhir that his wife called him informing him about her sudden craving.
"Where is your brother?", Kimaya asked him as he opened the box before shrugging.
"He is busy in a meeting. He said he'll come as soon as he is free", Shantanu said.
"And when did you talk to him last time?", Kimaya asked him crossing her arms as he froze at his place checking the time. He smiled cheekily at her as she raised her eyebrows at him to continue.
"4 hours ago", he whispered making her blink in a daze.
"What is wrong with you?", she asked softly as he shook his head.
"Bhabhi, I was busy", he responded looking at the wall behind.
"Shantanu, are you hiding something?", Kimaya asked him only for her to feel a warm arm sneaking around her waist.
"Nobody can hide anything from me, Maya. You don't have to be worried for his safety. I told you before also as the oldest brother, I have to take care of my siblings like a father", Randhir said calmly looking at his younger brother who was having his tongue in his cheek knowing how his elder brother caught him.
"May I know then what is happening?", Kimaya asked looking at both of them wanting to know the issue.
"Your dear brother-in-law wants to experience love in his life so he is just trying to woo a girl from his college", Randhir spoke making Kimaya look at Shantanu.
"Really, but I heard that ma already fixed his marriage with the daughter of her best friend", Kimaya said making Shantanu shake his head unknowingly.
"You heard that, Shantanu. What do you think about it?", Randhir asked playing the obvious one here with a smirk on his face.
"This is not right Bhai. You got to marry the girl you liked and I got betrothed like this. You should take a stand for me", Shantanu said like a child making Randhir shake his head.
"Family values, Bacha. I can't go against them", Randhir stated straightforwardly.
Shantanu shook his head before walking upstairs with an angry look.
"You should be more diplomatic while handling these issues", Kimaya told him seeing the angry look Shantanu carried.
"You know much diplomatic I can be", Randhir boasted making Kimaya shake her head.
"Our kids would surely do what they want and is in the best interest of them. Don't try to interrupt in their issues", she told him walking to the pastry.
"You have to stand in between us to stop me from interrupting in their issues. Nobody can stop me other than you", he said suddenly making her look at him immediately understanding his silent warning.
He is using their baby to blackmail her to keep her with him forever. What else can she expect from this overly possessive and manipulative?

What do you think about the update? And Randhir's sudden reaction to the thought of Kimaya leaving him.
The story is going to get darker. Don't worry. I just realized this story is just getting too long but I am not getting enough of it, I hope you guys are also ready for new twists and turns and not really bored with the story.
Normally I end the story with pregnancy but I plan to work differently in this book. I know I am doing too many experiments with a single story.
Till Next Time...
