(Asriel's P.O.V.)

I walked up the steps on the bus. Everyone started staring at me. I looked at the floor and continued walking, holding my crown in my hand. Someone grabbed it.

I pulled tight on it, but they pulled tighter. I looked up at the person, and... it was a human. A human with blonde hair and green eyes wearing a pink, sparkly dress and red flats. She smiled at me, and tugged on my crown.

"I need it!" She shouted, "I need it to pretend to be a princess! This is the perfect fake crown! It looks so real! Can I have it? Can I?"

I started to cry, "It's not fake! It's real! It's mine! Let go! Let me take my crown and go!"

We continued to tug on my crown, the girl and I. Until... my hands got sweating and it slipped from my grasp. It was thrown to the back of the bus, where we could hear it breaking upon impact to the floor. Everyone gasped, and then went silent. The girl was furious.

"YOU! YOU TOOK MY PERFECT CROWN! IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MINE! THERE'S NO OTHER FAKE CROWN LIKE IT! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO USE AS A CROWN, NOW?!" She screamed, angrily.

I frowned, "Um... miss? That crown... wasn't fake."

"WHAT?! YOU HAD A LITERAL CROWN?! HOW?! WHO ARE YOU?!" She screamed in surprised.

I smiled, "My name is Asriel Dreemurr, and I am the prince of the monsters."

Everyone gasped again. She started to cry.

"You're... a monster prince? I... I'm so sorry. Please don't kill me!" She begged.

I laughed, and she looked scared, "I don't kill. It's not in my nature, or in any of the other monsters' nature. While other humans might have been mad, I'm just a little upset. It's fine though. I've always been a crybaby..."

"You're... the new student, right? The teachers have been telling us about the first monster that will go to our school, and perhaps the only monster. They didn't say much, but they did tell us that they were special, kind, shy, and interesting." She smiled.

I nodded, "I am... I'm the new student."

"I'm Alice. Nice to meet you." She greeted.

I smiled, "Nice to meet you too."

I walked to the back of the bus, took the broken pieces of my crown, put them in my backpack, and sat down.

Nobody said a word.
